Relax, it’s a spoof video for a fantasy…football league. It’s not like they’ll retire soon with major accomplishments in the sport, money, and a lot of time on their hands to pursue a post-NFL passion.

On house arrest in the Dotcom Mansion, big-crazy-rich-guy-who-does-crazy-things Kim Dotcom (founder of Megaupload) is still, a year later, in the wake of the storm unleashed by enforcement agencies of the United States and Australia; waiting on possible extradition and trial. His case, from his point of view, is about Internet freedom (and fighting government infringement and takeover). Flash video, cell-phone video-conferencing… all to Kim’s credit. So, the pioneer/businessman is not lying down.

Not lying down; but in the meantime, laying down some music at the mansion (in Auckland, New Zealand). Nice. Tim Pool (interviewing Kim for VICE) got to lay down some backup vocals for Kim’s upcoming EDM album – and ride his Segway cycle – while talking about online surveillance, file-sharing, gaming, Kim’s controversial case, and more.

Not just Virtual Reality (VR) but Augmented Reality (AR) Glasses. See, with VR, everything is virtual – part of the interface, not real (e.g. the ‘reality’ is created). However, AR can include physical objects as part of its interface and wearers’ interactions (e.g. the interface includes real things you can touch). I can see gaming applications for this. Sure. Imagine your friends traveling out to your house, excited about the ‘boom boom room’ you’re adding to your home…next year! Yeah, I can see AR glasses “completing” the construction virtually. And, of course, there will be military applications (but I’m not ranting on that over the holidays… nope… keeping it ‘holiday cheery’ man).
So, check this out. The folks at the Tested channel put on Technical Illusions’ castAR glasses at Maker Faire 2013. Watch the clips and chats above, with founders Jeri Ellsworth and Rick Johnson.

So, GT 6 could model any car driving experience and tell us how “real” the game feels. But convincing Jay of how real a virtual rendition of his car’s control feels… Now, that’s something. Watch.

You think he’d have gotten around to doing this at least once in his life before now… but… nope! While Iron Mike Tyson is hanging out in the Fox Sports green room, he gets to play Mike Tyson’s Punch-Out on Nintendo for the first time. I wonder if he’ll figure out the secret to beating the Champ. To do that, he must first learn how to beat Glass Joe (the video game’s first and weakest opponent)!
