Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger Season 2 Premieres Thursday, April 4 On Freeform (Series Trailer)

I never like it when my shows take long hiatuses, esp. in the modern TV era when most networks’ shows break their seasons in half (like a series premiere, then a midseason finale, then a midseason premiere, then a season finale). Too much time away from the viewers. Out of sight, out of mind, out of a job.

But Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger had a pretty good premiere season. Hopefully, the long hiatus means a powerful second season is on the way. We will see next month!

The World Will Never Be The Same. ‘Brightburn’ Comes To Theaters This May (Trailer)

Of all the super-sci-fi-thriller…

I mean. At first, I wanted to smack the kid. Repeatedly. Then, seeing the trailer… it becomes VERY apparent… that that would VERY bad for my health #DeadAzz #KillerKid

What if a child from another world crash-landed on Earth, but instead of becoming a hero to mankind, he proved to be something far more sinister? With Brightburn, the visionary filmmaker of Guardians of the Galaxy and Slither presents a startling, subversive take on a radical new genre: superhero horror.

The ‘Hellboy’ Reboot Debuts In Theaters April 12th (Redband Trailer)

Yeah, this “Hellboy” trailer had to be redband to really get the point across. Truth is, the snip with Hellboy and the sorceress making out in the bloodbath alone earns that stamp.

Yes. That is in there. Watch!

Based on the graphic novels by Mike Mignola, Hellboy, caught between the worlds of the supernatural and human, battles an ancient sorceress bent on revenge.

Debut Season Of “Doom Patrol” On The DC Universe Streaming Platform (Trailer)

Cyborg’s in there on the team, too. Cool!

New episode every Friday. Already started on February 15th.

DOOM PATROL reimagines one of DC’s most beloved groups of Super Heroes: Robotman aka Cliff Steele (BRENDAN FRASER), Negative Man aka Larry Trainor (MATT BOMER), Elasti-Woman aka Rita Farr (APRIL BOWLBY) and Crazy Jane (DIANE GUERRERO), led by modern-day mad scientist Niles Caulder aka The Chief (TIMOTHY DALTON). Each member of the Doom Patrol suffered a horrible accident that gave them superhuman abilities, but also left them scarred and disfigured. Traumatized and downtrodden, the team found their purpose through The Chief, coming together to investigate the weirdest phenomena in existence. Following the mysterious disappearance of The Chief these reluctant heroes will find themselves in a place they never expected to be, called to action by none other than Cyborg (JOIVAN WADE), who comes to them with a mission hard to refuse. Part support group, part Super Hero team, the Doom Patrol is a band of superpowered freaks who fight for a world that wants nothing to do with them.

I’m catching up on this this weekend. I promise you. Looks like the storylines could go really far out there given this trailer!

The Latest Offering Of The X-Men Franchise, “Dark Phoenix,” Hits The Big Screen June 7th (Trailer)

Well, well. The old run of the ‘X-Men’ blockbusters starting around the turn of the century put out a take on The Phoenix Saga. But this version though… Maaaaan, LET’S GO!

In DARK PHOENIX, the X-MEN face their most formidable and powerful foe: one of their own, Jean Grey. During a rescue mission in space, Jean is nearly killed when she is hit by a mysterious cosmic force. Once she returns home, this force not only makes her infinitely more powerful, but far more unstable. Wrestling with this entity inside her, Jean unleashes her powers in ways she can neither comprehend nor contain. With Jean spiraling out of control, and hurting the ones she loves most, she begins to unravel the very fabric that holds the X-Men together. Now, with this family falling apart, they must find a way to unite — not only to save Jean’s soul, but to save our very planet from aliens who wish to weaponize this force and rule the galaxy.

New trailer. Got pushed back a bit from before (earlier post here) but you won’t be mad after watching this.

After 10 Years Of Extraterrestrial Occupation, The Resistance Rises (Trailer)

Food for thought: That word ‘insurgency’ we hear in the news nowadays takes on a different meaning when WE are the insurgents, right? The colonialists that raised an army in America, eventually led by General George Washington… Brittain considered them insurgents (not ‘freedom fighters’ or the resistance that would ultimately give birth to the United States of America).

That said, I’m rooting for the insurgents in this “Captive State” trailer, and for the movie itself. Hope it smashes at the box office. Looks like some good popcorn chewing scarfing action!

Set in a Chicago neighborhood nearly a decade after an occupation by an extra-terrestrial force, “Captive State” explores the lives on both sides of the conflict – the collaborators and dissidents.

After Seven ‘Fast & Furious’ Movies, A ‘Hobbs & Shaw’ Spinoff? Yes! (Trailer)

The fate of the world depends on Hobbs and Shaw working together? A second time? They really, REALLY must be out of their rabid rabbit azz MINDS!! Then again, looking at the trailer, this whole flick is an ‘Are you out of your #$%! mind???’ experience. And we are here for it!

After eight films that have amassed almost $5 billion worldwide, the Fast & Furious franchise now features its first stand-alone vehicle as Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham reprise their roles as Luke Hobbs and Deckard Shaw in Fast & Furious: Hobbs & Shaw.

Ever since hulking lawman Hobbs (Johnson), a loyal agent of America’s Diplomatic Security Service, and lawless outcast Shaw (Statham), a former British military elite operative, first faced off in 2015’s Furious 7, the duo have swapped smack talk and body blows as they’ve tried to take each other down.

But when cyber-genetically enhanced anarchist Brixton (Idris Elba) gains control of an insidious bio-threat that could alter humanity forever — and bests a brilliant and fearless rogue MI6 agent (The Crown’s Vanessa Kirby), who just happens to be Shaw’s sister — these two sworn enemies will have to partner up to bring down the only guy who might be badder than themselves.

Hobbs & Shaw blasts open a new door in the Fast universe as it hurtles action across the globe, from Los Angeles to London and from the toxic wasteland of Chernobyl to the lush beauty of Samoa.

– Universal Pictures UK

They got Idris running down the side of a skyscraper like it was flat land! Wow. Just wow. Do we even need fast cars at this point? Hahaaa!

The Grimes Gang Faces A ‘New Enemy’ On ‘The Walking Dead’ In 2019 (Trailer)

Well, it’s not really the Grimes Gang anymore, is it?
#NoSpoilers

Have you been keeping up with AMC’s series ‘The Walking Dead’ lately? Get your binging in before it returns with new episodes in February 2019 if you have not. It is still compelling television.

The storyline took a turn I kinda figured it would eventually, but not like this. Not like this…

And isn’t that why shows of this caliber are friggin awesome?? Because even the expected is delivered in an unexpected way.

A couple of weeks and TWD is back at it. One question though: WTF is Negan doing at…

Get A First Look At “Fast Color,” The Acclaimed Superpowered Flick Coming To Theaters (Trailer)

Coming off a good SXSW run. Cool. Characterizing the hero’s powers as she experiences them during use. Interesting perspective and very cool, too. Powerful abilities on top of that. Abilities which, of course, put her on the run. Toss in tension with the family who she hopes will help her… and action, drama, sci-fi… BOOM!

It’s Summer, And Spider-Man Is “Far From Home” (Trailer)

Okay, watching this trailer should leave you with [at least] two takeaways: (1) Just when you don’t expect it, Nick Fury will come through, AND (2) Nick Fury came through, Peter… which is… Why. You. NEVER. Leave. Your. Spidey. Suit. At. Home!!

(Acceptable alternate takeaway: Auntie is super cute. Looks like she could make Happy reeeeally HAPPY. Haha!)

Aquaman is gonna make a billion dollars… go back in time and tell somebody that.

I know that’s right, Kevin. Who would have thunk it? Aquaman was the ‘joke’ hero back in the day, but now he’s the box office bank buster. Watch the clip above for a true comic/movie head’s insight.

Superfan James Cawley Recreated The ‘Star Trek’ Set Like No One Has Before (Video)

Built his own sci-fi dream set. To quote Witchdoctor, “Every day is a holiday.” He’d probably call it something cooler than ‘Star Trek’ Day, so I’d leave to this guy.

Meet the “Star Trek” Superfan James Cawley who has meticulously recreated the sets for the Enterprise from the original 1960s television series.

DC Universe’s “Doom Patrol” Series Premieres February 15, 2019 (Trailer)

Wooowww! Ohhhhh, so that’s how they are doing it! See, DC Universe’s series “Titans” has everyone I remember on the ‘Teen Titans’ I remember from the comics I read… except Cyborg. I was thinking, “Since Cyborg was part of the ‘Justice League’ on the big screen he cannot just show up on a streaming series.”

Oh yes, he can. Plus, ‘Doom Patrol’ was an episode in “Titans” season 1. Bet your pockets there will be a crossover that puts Cy down with the ‘Titans’ at least temporarily. DOPE!

Watch the first teaser trailer for DC Universe’s “Doom Patrol,” starring Matt Bomer as Larry Trainor/Negative Man, Brendan Fraser as Cliff Steele/Robotman, April Bowlby as Elasti-Woman, Diane Guerrero as Crazy Jane, Joivan Wade as Victor Stone/Cyborg, and Timothy Dalton as Dr. Niles Caulder/The Chief.

New casting for ‘The Chief’ huh? Interesting.

“Aquaman” Debuted As The #1 Movie (Video)

Have you seen the latest DC movie “Aquaman” yet? Looks like DC is hitting the come-from-behind trail hard with this one. Here’s the last teaser for the movie that took the top spot this past weekend (according to Variety, see their take on the flick after the jump).

Loving the way they got the archnemesis Black Manta’s look just right (e.g. like we remember from back in the day, but modernized a just a touch).

(Anybody checking for Ron Perlman in this might be a touch mad, but not big mad… hopefully. Looks like a good movie regardless.)
