The Strong Black Women Of Marvel’s Luke Cage (Video)

Mm mm mm! Lucky Luke Cage. That’s what they ought to call him in the series. Because in the show’s corner of the Marvel Universe, the women are CHOICE. Like Taster’s Choice. Like strong, sweet, Black coffee…

Yes, Black women are strong, but we also need space to be vulnerable.
Women who lead and love Marvel’s Luke Cage discuss turning their pain into power.
– Strong Black Lead

Oh, go binge Seasons 1 & 2 of Marvel’s Luke Cage (on Netflix) if you just missed that whole ‘coffee’ reference. In short, it’s code wording between Luke and the women he is going to ‘blend’ (ha)!

“Shazam!” Will Tell The Origin Story Of DC’s Captain Marvel On The Big Screen (Trailer)

Wonder if they will work Captain Marvel (DC’s Captain Marvel, not the one over in the MCU; she’s a woman) into the Justice League… the story and the hero team… like they did in the animated “Justice League Unlimited” series on Cartoon Network back a few years ago.

New Line Cinema’s “Shazam!,” the origin story that stars Zachary Levi (TV’s “Chuck”) as the titular DC Super Hero, along with Asher Angel (TV’s “Andi Mack”) as Billy Batson, and Mark Strong (the “Kingsman” movies) in the role of Super-Villain Dr. Thaddeus Sivana.
– Warner Bros. Pictures

Seems like they are really leaning in on the middle-school kid in a grown-up superhero’s body. Nothing wrong with that. Hope it works out to be a good origin storytelling experience. We will see April 2019.

DC Universe Presents: “Titans” (Series Trailer)

One of the first series to air exclusively on DC’s upcoming streaming service, DC Universe… Here’s the series trailer for “Titans” (short for “Teen Titans”). Conspicuous by his absence on the team: Cyborg (expected though, since that character was featured prominently on the “Justice League” movie). Cyborg not being on the team will be eclipsed by Starfire’s look and outfit; barely in keeping with anything that resembles what’s in the comics. Take a look and see if you likes though.

“Titans” follows young heroes from across the DC Universe as they come of age and find belonging in a gritty take on the classic Teen Titans franchise. Pre-order now at DCUniverse.com. #DCUniverse

WHOA! Did… Did Robin grunt, “F**K Batman?” in this trailer???!!

Could Ant-Man Be The Most Powerful Avenger? (Video)

This one is more [theoretical] science than science fiction, and I will tell you in advance… I did not get it (even after the second watch) totally. But that last ‘outtake’ point that Kyle makes… I got that the first time! In fact, me and @RealSuperKing were talking about the ‘mass problem’ on “Ant-Man” in a different way while back: When he gets super-tiny, but retains his mass, wouldn’t he crack anyone’s arm he ran up?? SCIENCE!!

When you think of powerful Avengers, you probably think of Hulk or Thor, but should we be considering Ant-Man too? Kyle has the quantum realm science on this week’s “Because Science”!

This ep is awesome to watch. Now, do NOT let all this ruin your movie-watching experience. I won’t. In fact, I’m hoping to see an ‘easter egg’ in the “Ant-Man And The Wasp” movie that hints at Ant-Man giving Thanos the business… and saving the world #InfinityWars #HelpUsScottLang #MaybeOurOnlyHope

New ‘Bumblebee’ Transformer Movie Features Iconic Yellow Volkswagen Beetle Vehicle Form (Trailer)

Not mad at this at all. Feels like this flick’s storytelling will move closer to the comics and old cartoons. Good stories, maybe enough to pull a good movie from. When the Transformers emerged from 4 million years stasis on Earth, Bumblebee was a key figure. Though not the biggest or strongest, he was often entrusted with important spy missions, with protecting the Witwickys (Sparkplug, who helped discover a fuel conversion process for the Autobots, and his son Buster)… plus he could SWIM (comic fact-checking by ojones1, so y’all can ‘at’ him if you wanna argue, hahaaaa)!

Of course, Hollywood won’t stick to the 80s story too tight, but this still could make for a good holiday film.

The End Of “Avengers: Infinity War” Explained (Video)

WARNING: Do NOT watch if you have not seen ‘Infinity War’ and do not want it spoiled!

Okay, Marvel usually licenses properties in 3’s, but there is a lot of grain and grist in the rumor mill saying there will be an ‘Avengers 4’… and bits & pieces viewers got by the movie’s end actually make that make sense.

Whoa. You’ve just come out of Avengers: Infinity War. You’ve cheered at all the fights. Laughed at all the jokes. You’ve been shaken, speechless and sobbing. You’ve made an appointment for therapy for tomorrow. Don’t worry…we’re all right there with you. There’s only one cure for the post-Infinity War blues, and that’s diving straight into the ending and trying to figure out what the hell just happened — and what the hell is going to happen next. Strap in, put your helmet on, and prepare your haunches, people. Here’s the ending of Avengers: Infinity War explained. And of course, gigantic, earth-shattering spoilers ahead. Last chance to turn back…

Comedy: ‘Deadpool’ Took A Shot At David Beckham Last Movie… Apology NOT Accepted (Video)

Can’t rightly call this a “Deadpool 2” trailer. These apology attempts to David Beckham are hilarious and make for an awesome standalone video clip… but still… go see “Deadpool 2” because that’s gonna be dope, too.

#GoGetEmPoolboy

After surviving a near-fatal bovine attack, a disfigured cafeteria chef (Wade Wilson) struggles to fulfill his dream of becoming Mayberry’s hottest bartender while also learning to cope with his lost sense of taste. Searching to regain his spice for life, as well as a flux capacitor, Wade must battle ninjas, the yakuza, and a pack of sexually aggressive canines, as he journeys around the world to discover the importance of family, friendship, and flavor – finding a new taste for adventure and earning the coveted coffee mug title of World’s Best Lover.
– 20th Century Fox

Okay, the writers had a field day with that description (above) AND this clip (um… abover). Enjoy!

(And for the record, Mr. Beckham: I LOVE “Blade: Trinity” – especially Ryan’s portrayal of Hannibal King. So there!)

T’Challa And Zuri Speak On Memories Of King T’Chaka In This Deleted Scene From “Black Panther” (Video)

Lookit. No bullsh!t. For real. The deleted scenes are almost like trailers; as looking at what did NOT make the final cut for “Black Panther” is almost as enticing as wanting to see what did! Check out this scene focused on T’challa the rising ruler of Wakanda.

And remember: This is what they didn’t include in the film. No wonder the movie was so dope #WakandaForever

“Avengers: Infinity Wars” Just Hit Theaters, And Now Marvel Drops An Extended Teaser For “Ant-Man & The Wasp” (Trailer)

Is Marvel trying to take DC out? Asking for a friend (who may or may not be worried about DC’s survival in the coming months). Check it. “Black Panther” was the Spring face smash across the movie industry… Then “Avengers: Infinity Wars” followed up with the heart stomp… and they still have “Deadpool 2” and “Ant-Man & The Wasp”. Plus all the Marvel TV series coming back and coming soon this summer and fall AND the Netflix game Marvel is killing.

Oh wait, I’m sorry. DC had a good debut season for “Black Lightning.” Respect. But that about it.

Just watch the trailer. And somebody tell DC to step it up over there!

Watch This Deleted Scene From “Black Panther”… A Confrontation Between The Heads Of The Dora Milaje And Border Tribe (Video)

Summon the Dora Milaje! Conflict!

In this deleted scene, the “Black Panther” characters Okoye and W’Kabi (Danai Gurira and Daniel Kaluuya) are going at it. Did you know that they were MARRIED though? The characters, not Danai and Daniel.

Great scene. Too bad it didn’t make the final cut.

“The Show Off” Teases Season 2 of Marvel’s “Luke Cage” (Trailer)

Absolutely, it’s still #WakandaForever around here and everywhere, but can we please get a heavy, heavy nod for a SECOND season of our Black hero-king on the small screens? Yep, Netflix is setting out another round of “Luke Cage” for us to binge on. Watch the trailer!

Luke Cage shows off his superhero strength by competing in the physical and mental tests of the combine event, similar to the one that college football players have gone through on their way to the NFL Draft… In this clip, Luke takes on the combine to show his true power to the world and to himself.

Marvin “Krondon” Jones III Speaks On Starring In ‘Black Lightning’ And His Rap Career (Video)

Been really into the latest addition to The CW’s #DareToDefy lineup, “Black Lightning.” Dope from all angles. And a word on casting: When ‘Scooter’ from “Living Single” (shout to the homie @65phenom aka BigDee for that non-trivial bit of TV trivia) is the hero… AND your main bad guy is KRNDN aka Krondon (of Strong Arm Steady)… AND you have Salim Akil and Mara Brock Akil at the helm… your show is Black af and lit as ‘Lightning!’

*needle scratches record*

But waaait. Krondon is on TV as the villain?? Doooope! Watch him speak on that and other stuff in this interview.
