Styles P – “Holiday Any Emcee” (Video)
Styles P with the video for a banger from his mixtape “Diamond LIfe Project.” We told you about it here. In case you missed that post, we link it again below (and you should go get it… it’s FREE). Dope visuals by DPTV Films. As for the track… Styles went IN! And that Rakim sample for the hook is sick! – Ojones1
***Jayforce’s note****: “The instrumental is from rapper NINE’s 1995 single “Any Emcee” off of his LP entitled “NINE LIVEZ” back in the day. Beat diggers will easily recognize the Spinners 1972 classic “I’ll Be Arounnd” that was sampled. Check the video for NINE’s “Any Emcee” track below too….
Ray Lewis Says He’s Not Waiting For His Son In The NFL (Video)
This may very well be future hall of famer & Baltimore Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis’s last year in the NFL. In many ways I’m rooting for Ray Lewis & the Baltimore Ravens to get back to the Super Bowl one last time for Ray although I’m an Oakland Raiders fan. Some people had minor hopes that Ray Lewis would hold on in the NFL a few more years, long enough to be in the league to play against or with his son Ray Lewis III. In this interview Ray Lewis speaks about his son who will be attend the University Of Miami as a freshman running back, but Ray Lewis clearly states he has no plans to keep playing in the league should his son enter the NFL draft in the future. If it did happen that would be something very special to see, but we all can sense that Ray is retiring after this season.

Nas Encourages Young People To Exercise Their Right To Vote (Video)
Here at JayForce.com we don’t get political… Ha! Couldn’t even say that without chuckling. But seriously, the vote is something all Americans should take seriously. Nas does. And he wants young Americans (especially college-age voters) to take it seriously, too. Good look, God Son. Watch the message above. Check out what Nas had to say below:
‘The future of this country is in the hands of the young people… Now that I’ve voted, I feel so much power that I didn’t feel before.’
Technology: Baxter – The Robot That Will Change Manufacturing (Video)
Above is a demonstration video for a new kind of factory robot, Baxter, built by Rodney Brooks and his company Rethink Robotics. Industrial robots, to date, have been very limited in function and very expensive. Enter Baxter, a low-cost robot programmed to work in flexible ways that mimic human laborers… all the way down to facial expressions. But Brooks insists that Baxter will not replace human workers; only the clunky machines they currently work with. Melissa Kennedy of Atlanta Career Path posts:
Stalley – “Fountain of Youth” feat. Rick Ross x Nipsey Hussle (Video
The video for “Fountain of Youth” by Stalley (featuring Rick Ross and Nipsey Hussle) is a good look. The song sounds good & I may have to spin this joint on the radio show. The visuals hold true to the street feel of the track as well. As an Oakland Raiders fan I gotta salute Mr. Rozay for rockin’ that ball cap. I wish my Raiders were winning as much as Rick Ross is with his MMG team.
By the way, “Self Made 2” – the full-length Maybach Music Group compilation that includes “Fountain of Youth” – is available right now via iTunes. We provide the link to cop here.

Nas – “Cherry Wine” feat. Amy Winehouse (Video)
I’m definitely glad Nas put out a video for “Cherry Wine” featuring Amy Winehouse. Without question this is one of my favorite songs from Nas’s “Life Is Good” album that’s out now. Unlike most hip hop in the mainstream, “Cherry Wine” hits home because it deals with a theme that most people can relate to. Great work Mr. Jones. Great work!

Cover Story: Laura Flanders and Rashad Robinson on Fighting ALEC (Video)
I make it a point to watch Moyers & Company most every Sunday on PBS Atlanta. When I can, I attend live chat sessions and keep up with the web exclusives. Smart commentary on politics of the day. Last episode was an intriguing in-depth conversation on the agenda of the American Legislative Exchange Council, or ALEC.
ALEC pursues its goal – to influence lawmaking (mainly at the state level) – in ways that neglect U.S. citizens’ input and interests. This affects us! Remember the Trayvon Martin case? ALEC’s hand-print was all over the “Stand Your Ground” legislation that let shooter George Zimmerman delay investigation and indictment for so long!
Like so many organizations that aim to control our political process in the United States, ALEC is an evil hidden in plain view. We can fight it once we see and know about it. This Moyers & Company web exclusive – a conversation between GritTV’s Laura Flanders and Rashad Robinson, Executive Director of ColorofChange.org – helps put ALEC and its agenda in plain view. Watch. Listen. Tell a friend to, too. Learn how Rashad fought back and what ordinary folks can do. By the way, Election Day is only a month a way! Let’s GO!

Q-Tip Hints That There May Be A ‘Cruel Winter’ Album (Video)
Q-Tip asking for ‘permission’ from [fellow G.O.O.D. Music clique member] Pusha T to let the cat out of the bag. Priceless. Anyway, it looks like Q-Tip will appease those who were disappointed that he did not appear on the G.O.O.D. Music compilation project “Cruel Summer”… by appearing on a “Cruel Winter” project! Peep the video above for the ‘scoop.’
Psalm One – “Kids Right Now” feat. Mikkey Halsted (Video)
“Kids Right Now” (featuring Mikkey Halsted) is a hot one off Psalm One’s album “Child Support” (out now on iTunes). The track was produced by Optiks, and credit for this beautiful video goes to Aaron Perkins, Jr. (of APJ Films), who directed and edited it. I became an instant fan and semi-secret admirer of Psalm One’s when she was clowning on the “Open Relationship” joint with R.A. The Rugged Man. She and Mikkey came with a serious vibe on this one. Content, lyrics, skills, and delivery…they’re back! DOPE! Chicago emcees Psalm One and Mikkey Halsted are ‘cooking up a blessing’ for the “Kids Right Now” … and us by way of this track. Respect! Y’all enjoy.

Joell Ortiz – “Clique Freestyle”
Joell Ortiz reps lovely with raw lyricism on “Clique Freestyle” (him going IN on the from the Hit-Boy-produced “Clique” joint blessed by Kanye West, Big Sean, and Jay-Z). Yeah. Sesame Street: Boardwalk Empire (Video)
HBO’s Boardwalk Empire is my favorite show on television these days. The popularity of the show has even the characters of Sesame Street parodying the 1920s gangster series set in Atlantic City. Check out this kid friendly version of Boardwalk Empire called “Birdwalk Empire” featuring characters such as Nucky Ducky Thompson & “Clucky” Luciano. . At least this particular parody is waaaaay more toned down than the high-powered gangsta of M.O.P.’s ‘Ante Up’ Sesame Street clip below…..

Becoming: Nas (Part One) [Video]
“From the producers of HALF NELSON, BLUE VALENTINE and ESPN’S THE LIFE comes BECOMING; an interview series that uncovers what successful actors, musicians, chefs, athletes and others, did to get to be leaders in their industries. Johnny Knoxville, Chris Evans, Nas and Arian Foster are among many to star in this series where we learn what life was like leading up to success, which moments made the difference in achieving it, the mistakes and resulting pitfalls experienced, and the people who helped guide them along the way.”
In this particular episode, they catch up with Nas as he rehearses for Rock The Bells. In between rehearsing Nas speaks on his debut album, speaking for the voiceless & people he knew through his music, & his new album Life Is Good.

R&B: Mario – “Killa”
R&B singer Mario is prepping to drop a new mixtape & what will be his 5th album. If this new single “Killa” produced by @GlassJohn is any indication of just what he’ll have on the project then I’m sure it’ll be a winner. Shout out to all the ladies with that Killa you-know-what.

Studio Session: Skyzoo x Chi-Ali Record “Jansport Strings Remix” (Video)
Skyzoo’s latest single “Jansport Strings” was a pretty dope tribute to Chi-Ali who was recently released from prison & now back making music. What’s even more interesting is Skyzoo has linked up with Chi-Ali & they’ve recorded the remix at my homie Fokis’s studio in Brooklyn. That’s not only dope, but that’s historic for many reasons. Check out the video above & the final version of the remix below. Skyzoo’s next project “A Dream Deferred” drops tomorrow…

R&B: Dawn Richard – ’86
Dope song! Dawn Richard (formerly of Diddy’s Dirty Money) is underrated as hell as an artist…and that’s a damn shame. Damn near a crime. Creative videos, excellent choreography, elaborate costumes, precision sharp dance routines, & most importantly music that touches your soul. Well, we the JayForce.com do-gooders – posters of good music and more – are here to “’86” that nonsense. Dawn’s jam “’86” (produced by Druski) is yet another beautiful example of what modern R&B/Soul/Pop is supposed to sound like. Not surprisingly the song has an early Prince feel to it in terms of its musical flavor & songwriting so it seems intentional for Dawn to name it “86” as a nod to those subtle references & dual meanings. This is the first single from Dawn’s forthcoming album, “GoldenHeart” (due out October 16, 2012). For now, you can stream to “’86” below and buy the single at iTunes.
