Dame Dash Owes IRS Big Bucks

The Detroit News is reporting that former Roc-a-Fella Records CEO and Jay-Z’s former business partner Dame Dash owes the IRS nearly 3 Million in back taxes.
The IRS just filed a nearly $3 million tax lien against him on June 30th with the New York City Register’s Office.
Dame sold his Roc-a-Wear, and Roc-a-Fella shares years ago and has been making moves with the art gallery, DD172 and with several music acts.
New Wolverine Movie Gets A Villain

Hugh Jackman mentioned during his presser at Comic Con that the next Wolverine flick has a script and is based on the Chris Claremont and Frank Miller limited series from 1982 in which Wolverine battles with The Silver Samurai. I didnt dig the first Wolverine too tough but I’m down for a new movie. Hope this one comes out a little better

Through Island Def Jam’s blog the two announced a tour starting in September. Tickets go on sale Thursday July 28th. No official word yet on pricing but we all anticipate it to be a hefty bill.

Ran across this banger that Kardinal posted on his twitter page & I had to keep rewinding it back! Pulllllllll Uuuuppppppppp! My favorite song from the Toronto Canada representer Kardinall Offishall hands downs down is the original ‘Ol Time Killing’, but this part 2 version produced by himself & Dready is a nice follow up to arguably his biggest tune over the years! The song is slated to appear on Kardy’s upcoming album Mr. International that’s due to drop this year. Morrrr Fiyahhhhhh!!!

Amy Winehouse Found Dead In Her London Apartment At Age 27

Troubled singer Amy Winehouse has been found dead in her North London home, Sky News is reporting. Nick Buckley of the Sunday Mirror News reports that police have confirmed the passing.
The Grammy-winning singer, best known for her hit song, “Rehab,” died of an apparent drug overdose. She’s battled drug addiction for years, having most recently checked back into rehabilitation in May. – HuffPost

DJ Premier x Joell Ortiz Perform ‘Sing Like Bilal’ Live (Video)

DJ Premier was spinning at a recent event & took a mini-break to give the audience a few historical tidbits on the Sing Like Bilal track which samples my favorite song from Philly soul singer Bilal’s classic joint ‘Soul Sista’. The verbal quote ‘Sing Like Bilal’ sample actually comes from Lil Fame of M.O.P. After holding court briefly on the turntables, Primo brought Joell Ortiz out on stage to perform it live. Speaking of Bilal, if you just so happen to be in Atlanta tonight he’s performing live tonight at the Variety Playhouse.
