Great Scott – God’s Graffiti (Prod by Mr. Enok)

DOWNLOAD: GREAT SCOTT – GOD’S GRAFFITI (PROD BY MR. ENOK)
Atlanta’s hip hop scene is filled with a number of characters, players, & figures with a variety of style. Great Scott is one of those persons whose background & upbringing contributes much to his sound & lyricism. Being of Jamaican heritage & having grown up in London, New York, & even Savannah Georgia before immersing himself in Atlanta’s thriving hip hop scene, Great Scott’s ultra unique style is not fake by any means. This track God’s Graffiti produced by Mr. Enok (producer & DJ for Boog Brown) is a perfect example of great production coupled with diverse dialect & lyricism gone right. Although it’s not listed but there appears to be another emcee on the track who I believe is none other than Ekundayo. is named Severe. Spotted this track over at my homie from the Bronx Lex Boogie’s siteThe Gritty Committee.
Kanye West & Jay-Z – H.A.M. (prod by Lex Luger)

DOWLOAD: KANYE WEST & JAY-Z – H.A.M. (PROD BY LEX LUGER) | Â CLEAN VERSION
I’m not too impressed with this joint. Â Sounds like a leftover track from when Kanye was working on My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy that didn’t make the cut. At least they tried to experiment with the young producer Lex Lugar’s sound. Atlanta via Virginia native Lex Lugar has been largely responsible for Waka Flocka’s hit soundscapes as of late.
Melo to the Nets?

Rumors of a Carmelo trade are starting to heat up with the New Jersey Nets and not the New York Knicks as the front runners to land the star forward. Carmelo has made known that he will not sign the contract extension offered by the Nuggets and plans to test the free agent market in the summer. Rumors have placed the Knicks as Melo’s first choice of teams he’d like to play for but the Knicks don’t seem to have trade pieces that the Nuggets are looking for, mainly young talent and draftpicks.

Akua Naru – The World Is Listening (VIDEO)
Akua Naru is a female emcee based out of Cologne Germany. Her new single The World Is Listening is a homage to female voices in hip hop who pioneered the way despite often being overshadowed by their male counterparts. There are so many talented female voices in hip hop it’s just the mainstream have yet to catch on to the many women doing it well. The World Is Listening was produced by the Germany production team JR & PH7 & a remix was done by Jay Baez. The World Is Listening is the first single from Akua Naru’s upcoming album called ‘The Journey AfLame’ due on 1/11/11. Check her video for BACKFLIP after the jump.

Authorities Claim They Are Closer To Solving The Murders Of Biggie & Tupac
According To CNN:
Los Angeles (CNN) — A task force made up of local and federal law enforcement agencies is actively pursuing leads into the 1997 slaying of hip hop artist Christopher Wallace, better known as Biggie Smalls or Notorious B.I.G., according to two sources familiar with the investigation.
According to one law enforcement source, the investigation into the 13-year-old unsolved case was “reinvigorated” months ago as a result of new information, but the source would not elaborate further because of the ongoing investigation that includes the Los Angeles Police Department, L.A. County District Attorney’s Office and the FBI.
Retired Los Angeles Police Detective Russell Poole, who worked on the Wallace case, told CNN that he believes Knight was behind the murder, even though the Death Row Records’ boss was serving time on a probation violation at the time.
“Suge Knight ordered the hit,” Poole said, adding that he believes it was arranged by Reggie Wright Jr., who headed security for Death Row Records.
“I think I was getting too close to the truth,” Poole said. “I think they feared that the truth would be a scandal.”

Playboy Tre – Ready Go (Video)
I really like this video from Atlanta’s Playboy Tre. Many people outside of Atlanta may only be familiar with him from rocking stages as B.O.B.’s hypeman, but Playboy Tre has been in the game for years. The former ‘Last Call Liquor Brawl’ champ drops some new visuals for his latest. Although the song features Lil Jon he doesn’t appear in the video, but a number of ATL notables make cameos such as the ATL via Philly homie Sean Falyon. Enjoy the video & remember to drink responsibly.
MikeFlo & Leo Goetz – Big Band (Video)
Great video & sounds from the homie MikeFlo with my man Leo Goetz on the production duties. Great visuals by the homie Mike Moore & the team over at Studio8 located in Atlanta. For those of yall that need a late pass, Mike Flo is not just a tour DJ for Dead Prez but the man is also an emcee. Make sure you support his latest mixtape ‘Fly, Fresh, & Responsible’ hosted by M1 of Dead Prez & mixed by DJ Rasta Root. A few other ATL notables make cameos in the video above such as the ultra talented ‘STAHHR’. After the jump you can check out the mixtape tracklisting & artwork! Roll the video & Blow the horns!
Adrift Da Belle Feat. Methuzulah – Cheeba Cheeba (Video)
Adrift Da Belle dropped one of the best independent releases last year with her ‘Garden State Parkway’ album. The New Jersey bred yet Atlanta based emcee dropped a video to one of the standout tracks from the album called Cheeba Cheeba featuring Methuzulah. The video was directed by the homie Will Feagins of High Impact Designs & it features plenty of cameos from many people involved in Atlanta’s True Skool hip hop scene including yours truly. After the jump check out the Behind The Scenes footage of the video plus a few key tracks from that dope ass album! Cheeba Cheeba Y’all! Cuz I’m an Aries Y’all! Y’all Yaaaawl!
