Fat Joe is back with a new single featuring Chris Brown that’s definitely geared to the ladies. I believe this new joint called “Another Round” is a bonafide hit record primarily because savvy music heads can pick up the subtle influence from a previous hit record. I believe many brothers may dig this joint if they’re old enough to remember the classic Troop joint I Will Always Love You. It sounds like they either sampled the Troop record or was influenced by that classic R&B record from that first dropped back in 1989.

I don’t care what anybody says….Chris Brown KILLED his performance during the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards. A ‘Protect Ya Neck’ Tribute To Wu-Tang Clan? Nirvana? Yeah he may have lip sync’d parts of his performance because there was a lot of dancing, but this was most definitely entertaining to watch. Plus I fux with that “Beautiful People” song too especially when travelling overseas….

Yo I was ready to laugh & clown at this joint because I thought it would be similar to one of those rap parodies like the acoustic version of ‘Straight Out Of Compton’ that Nina Gordon covered, but instead of laughing I was left in awe. This girl Karmin killed this cover of Chris Brown’s ‘Look At Me Now’ featuring Busta Rhymes & Lil Wayne. 95% of rap artists can’t keep up with the nimble lyrical flow of Busta Rhymes in any capacity but this chick right here kills it! Rappers need to step their game up because anytime an assumed novice like this chick Karmin can body a flow as well as Busta then the game truly is over. Wow!!! Chris Brown comes back with a visual freestyle to the ‘My Last’ joint that was released with him & Big Sean. Glad to see the kid changed that hairstyle back to black & rocking the African medallions. That’s wasup! Looks like Chris Brown is getting his stuff together & is pulling it all back together again. One thing that’s hard to ignore is the number of artists who are switching lanes professionally. R&B singers like Ryan Leslie, Chris Brown, & Trey Songz starting to rap now more than sing these days. Actors want to be DJs, DJs want to be rappers, Rappers want to be singers, & singers want to be rappers. I don’t mind it all as long as they study their respective crafts & are good what they do…..

Kanye West has a great roster of artists over there at G.O.O.D. Music, but one artist I had been on the fence about was Big Sean. Detroit as a city is known for some hardbody lyrical beasts in terms of talent yet with Big Sean I never got the impression that he never really took that course. He appears to be one of those types of new artists that isn’t battle lyrical so I’ve felt that his strong suit would probably be in crafting good songs or stories. I even stopped by one of his shows in Atlanta to check out his stage show & check out his style to see if I was missing anything considering he had a decent amount of fans on the internet. The songs I genuinely enjoyed the most from Big Sean both appeared to be collaborations he had with Chris Brown. The first song that caught my attention was ‘Sh*t Goddam’ & now this new joint that just dropped called ‘My Last’. Say what you want about Big Sean, but this song right here with Chris Brown is a hit record if his label and the people around him don’t drop the ball.
