Nas – “Cherry Wine” (Trailer)

Without question Nas’s soon to be classic “Life Is Good” album is one of the best hip hop albums to have dropped this year. What makes me more excited is the way in which he’s releasing a single for many of the songs from the project. Nas is set to drop this 5th video from the “Life Is Good” project with one of my favorite songs off the album entitled “Cherry Wine” featuring Amy Winehouse. Dope choice Mr. Jones…..Dope choice. Nas – “Bye Baby” (Video Trailer)

Nas is set to release the video to “Bye Baby” which is one of my favorite songs from arguably the best hip hop album of 2012… “Life Is Good”. I’m excited to see the visuals for this song so much so that I sort of broke my rule about posting trailers to music videos. I don’t do it very often because I find posting trailers to music videos to be a waste of time. Keep checking back here at JAYFORCE.COM for when the video officially drops….

How To Survive A Plague (Documentary Trailer)

I can already tell this is going to be good!

Directed by David France, “How to Survive a Plague” is a stirring documentary that captures the battle against AIDS. Told in the words of a fierce and determined band of activists, the documentary acts as an emotional we-were-there video, detailing the struggles of a staunch few who took on legislators and law makers to take on the resilient, notorious virus. – Soulculture.co.uk

How To Make Money Selling Drugs (Film Trailer)

This is CRAZY! This documentary makes a BOLD (and most might say indisputable) declaration: Today’s illegal drug trade is the only industry sector that is consistently hiring! Add that to your next discussion about the economy. Whew! All kinds of celebs (including 50 Cent and Eminem) make appearances in this look at the business of drug-selling. Co-produced by Adrian Grenier (b.k.a. Vinny Chase from the HBO series “Entourage”), this film is guaranteed to be HOT…hotly debated, hotly protested…whatever! But it WILL be the hot ticket!

Skyfall (Movie Trailer)

I was underwhelmed by the recently released ‘Dark Knight Rises’ film that hit theaters, but I’m hoping actor Daniel Craig starring as James Bond in the upcoming ‘Skyfall’ film doesn’t disappoint me. I think Daniel Craig makes a great ‘James Bond’ & I’ve enjoyed the last couple of films where he took on the starring role. Expecting nothing less than great action, superb visual effects, & an intelligent storyline with this ‘Skyfall’ flick.

“The official international trailer for James Bond “Skyfall”. Daniel Craig is back as Ian Fleming’s James Bond 007 in Skyfall, the 23rd adventure in the longest-running film franchise of all time. In Skyfall, Bond’s loyalty to M is tested as her past comes back to haunt her. As MI6 comes under attack, 007 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost.”

Oz: The Great and Powerful (Trailer)

Disney is pulling back the curtain on the origins of L. Frank Baum’s classic masterpiece The Wizard of Oz,” with the story of “Oz: The Great and Powerful.” After directing three Spider-Man films, Sam Raimi has turned his attention to this fantastical story of a small-town magician (played by James Franco) who is hurled by a tornado into the Land of Oz where he has a chance to be shaped into the great and powerful wizard he always aspired to be. Mila Kunis, Rachel Weisz, Michelle Williams, and indie golden boy Zach Braff also star. The film is currently slated for a global release in spring of 2013. - Zach Pina, Hypebeast.com

Jackson, The RZA of Wu-Tang Clan, Christopher Waltz, & former Miami Vice notable Don Johnson. The western revenge flick hits theaters in December…

The Amazing Spider-Man (Trailer)

I enjoyed the previous Spider Man films starring Tobey Maguire that hit the big screen a few years back so when I initially heard that filmmakers were going to redo the series in theaters so soon I sort of groaned aloud thinking it’s probably gonna be wack. I’m having a change of heart watching these previews for “The Amazing Spider-Man” because it feels like the creators are simply revisiting the formula that was used to reboot DC Comic’s Batman films. The initial Batman films were very “comicbook-like” in nature while the most recent ones like “Batman Begins” & “The Dark Knight” have been darker & more adult in it’s approach. I believe that’s the plan for The Amazing Spider-Man when it hits theaters this summer….

The Dark Knight Rises (Trailer)

It’s gonna be a great summer of blockbuster movies with “The Dark Knight Rises” opening July 20th amongst a whole host of other highly anticipated superhero & action films we’re all looking forward to seeing. With this reportedly the last & final part in the Batman trilogy it’s expected that director Christopher Nolan will pull out all the stops with actor Christian Bale reprising his role as Bruce Wayne & the caped crusader.

John Forte’ – The Russian Winter Documentary [Trailer]

John Forte’ spent 14 years of his life in federal prison for drug trafficking. That’s a huge chunk out of anyone’s life considering he was once riding high within the Fugees camp & as a solo artist in his own right. Upon his release from prison John Forte’ made a trek to Russia where he worked closely with a number of charities & this upcoming documentary that will be presented during the Tribeca Music Festival covers that experience. Check out what John Forte’ had to say about this project & now wanting to do the typical “rapper out of jail” documentary.

“I think the knee-jerk reaction of coming home was to make a documentary about my life preceding prison, and what took place in prison, leading up to me coming home. But something about it just didn’t feel right. It felt exploitative. You know, I went to prep school. When I came back to the ‘hood, it wasn’t like people slapped me on the back and said, ‘Wow, you got your stripes now.’ But there were so many guys that went for a year, went away for two years, went away for five years. And when they came back, it was almost like they were praised. And that’s the last message I wanted to send. There was nothing cool about my time away.”John Forte’

Shout out to Kevinnottingham who is actively involved with this upcoming documentary along with my homegirl Soul Wallace, Hassahn Phenomenon & director/creator Kareem Fort who we’ve had on the Beatz & Lyrics Show to speak on this documentary about a year ago. Brooklyn emcee Skyzoo who we’ve had in our studios for an interview recently will be featured prominently in this upcoming documentary as well. DEMOS is a documentary that focuses on how new artists should move in their attempts to make it in this all too unforgiving & foul music industry. The documentary officially drops in October of this year so it’s great to get another trailer leading up the release….

Marley (Film Trailer)

Directed by Kevin MacDonald (The Last King of Scotland, State of Play), it is a documentary on the life, music, and legacy of legendary Jamaican singer-songwriter and musician, Bob Marley. The film was premiered at the 2012 Berlin Film Festival and set to hit SXSW Festival next month March 8th – 13th 2012 in Austin, Texas.

It is the first feature backed by the Marley family as well as the legend’s longtime music label head Chris Blackwell which should make for the most insightful look at his life yet as it follows “the musician, revolutionary and legend from his earliest days to his rise to international superstardom” using rare footage, archival photos and incredible performances and interviews with his family, friends and bandmates. Blackwell executive produces alongside Marley’s son, Ziggy.” – BOBMARLEYARCHIVE

The Amazing Spider-Man (Trailer)

I was rather dismissive of this upcoming flick when I first saw the initial press photos that were released from the film, but this new official trailer for the upcoming The Amazing Spider-Man movie looks rather promising. It appears the creators have decided to delve into a more darker & less light-hearted version of the Spider-Man franchise in this particular reboot. I’d say the approach is similar to how the earlier Batman movies & sequels were more ‘popcorn fare’, but the later ones starring Christian Bale were darker & more gangsta. I’m getting the same feeling after watching this trailer that’s the plan for the Amazing Spider-Man. Not sure about all the added CGI effects, but we’ll see come July 3rd…
