R.I.P. Sherman Hemsley

We at JayForce.com, like you, are saddened by the loss of another of our beloved mega-stars. Associated Press (AP), Chicago Tribune, E Online, and other sources have reported that Broadway star turned television icon Sherman Hemsley died of natural causes at his El Paso, Texas, home this past Tuesday, July 24, 2012. Mr. Hemsley was 74 years old. The above vignette, put together by ABC’s Good Morning America is a fitting (and informative) tribute to everyone’s boisterous dad/deacon/in-law archetype. God speed, Mr. Hemsley. You were one of the best…and one of the first to show us real swagger. (Y’all remember that George Jefferson strut!) We will miss you. Rest in Peace.

Gotta salute Estelle with this video as we see some candid shots of this soulful singer and her life on tour. Cameos in the end included the wicked producer Jazzwad, celebrity dancer John Hype, Beenie Man, Patexx, Iyara, Bawse Dawg and the Grung Gaad himself Bounty Killer as she stopped of in Jamaica. This song is off her album All Of Me and was also featured on the Love Ultra Mix CD – Part Two.
A funny scene is her being led to the stage to perform on the beach and she looking back at security guard like ‘HELP NUHH’ and then her trying to form the ‘A’ with her fingers to rep for ‘The Alliance’. As we celebrate Jamaica’s 50th year of Independence… This reminds me why ‘Jamaica Nice!’

N.O.R.E. brought in Jadakiss for this cut, “Gangsta’s Don’t Die.” It’s a new single off N.O.R.E.’s upcoming album, “Student Of The Game.” The album was going to be titled “S.U.P.E.R.T.H.U.G.” but N.O.R.E. decided to change the name recently, as he is working on a movie that will be called “Super Thug” (according to an article in XXL Magazine).

The Virginia super-group is comprised of Bigshot Manceeni, Cutlass Reid, Khizman, Starboy, Ivory Keyes, and Boogie. This track, “Dead End Street,” featuring Phonte (of Little Brother) will likely appear on D.M.P.’s “Live From Early Street” mixtape. So, count another dope emcee’s work on the upcoming Nottz release. Fiddy may be looking to take The Money Team into a new arena…a boxing arena. Seen often with his likely boxing promotion partner – flamboyant Floyd Mayweather, Jr., – 50 Cent apparently looks to go platinum as a promoter of pugilism (say that five times fast). Word has it that TMT (short for The Money Team) Promotions expects to sign former featherweight title holder Yuriorkis Gamboa and super middleweight contender Andre Dirrell. None of this is official, but Nevada state athletic commissioner Keith Kizer says TMT is applying for a license in the state. – Chris Mannix, si.com
