The philly homie Wyldfyer, who’s produced for many artists such as Nas, Jay-Z, Ludacris, Lil Wayne, Kendrick Lamar, & a host of other marquee artists sent this joint over to me that was supposed to appear on the Biggie Duets album when Puffy commissioned him to do some tracks for the project. Puff decided not to use this joint, but Wyldfyer was cool enough to let me drop this joint for the site. So what u want nikka?! Ennnnn…joyeeeeeee!

Biggie At 17 Years Of Age Battling In The Streets Of Brooklyn (Video)

There’s no excuse for young cats in hip hop today to not be skilled at their craft. Biggie was battling emcees & nicer than what most would consider to be the best rap artists of this era. Keep in mind that Christopher Wallace was only 17 in this video. His challenger in the video eventually gave up & walked the f*ck off too. Crazy right? It’s Biggie’s early battle skills that sharpened him to be a talented artist & even crafting ill battle records like the one below…..

Hard to believe the Rodney King verdict that caused the L.A. riots happened just 20 years ago today. For me it seems like almost yesterday. Thurz, 1/2 of of the Inglewood California rap group U-N-I , decided to deliver this at the appropriate time to remind the heads about that day in L.A. the country will never forget. REWIND: King Driis aka Idris Elba – ‘Hold On’ (prod by 9th Wonder)

This joint literally dropped on the web about one year ago this week. After posting the Pharoahe Monch video featuring Idris Elba I just felt the urge to post this joint. JAYFORCE.COM wasn’t in existence a year ago so it’s only right to post this in case many of you have missed it. Before actor Idris Elba’s acting career jumped off he mostly paid his bills by DJing parties. In this particular song produced by 9th Wonder, Idris Elba steps in the role of an reggae influenced emcee by the name of King Driis. I enjoyed this joint when I first heard it & I still do so cop the REWIND Selektah!!!

Where Biggie Got His Inspiration For His ’10 Crack Commandments’ Song (Video)

The Source Magazine used to be the hip hop bible back in the day but eventually they fell off for not keeping it honest. One of Biggie’s most popular songs produced by DJ Premier was the ’10 Crack Commandments’ for not only quality beat but for Biggie’s descriptive wordplay. Open Discussion: Blog Rappers Vs. Street Rappers

This is part of a series that Sirius XM’s Dee Vasquez is doing as an open discussion about the balance artists need to have between the blogs & being visible in the streets to get notoriety. Depending on what type of artist you are & where you would like to go with your career as a recording artist I believe hitting the streets as well as the blogs are equally as important in this new media age. Nowadays people do so much online from paying their bills, social networking, & just about anything else you can imagine. The days of rapping & handing out CDs on a corner aren’t as effective as reaching a worldwide audience via the net. So my point is why wouldn’t blogs, radio, & the street all be important in this new era. Every avenue can help an artist win on its own these days.
