R&B/Soul: Kenny Lattimore – “Find A Way” (Video)
New song from R&B singer Kenny Lattimore who has been missing in action for quite a while. Alotta brothas, including myself, were hating on this dude for locking down the beautiful singer Chante Moore back in the 90s, but I’m hearing in 2012 they are no longer together. Maybe a breakup was the perfect time for Kenny Lattimore to “Find A Way” back in the studio & produce some new R&B records for his upcoming album “Back To Cool”. Meanwhile many brothas are gonna try to find their way to Chante Moore in hopes that she could use some comforting these days…..
Simtraks – “Don’t Walk Away” (feat. SkyBlew x Meredith Fann)
Here is a hot track, dropped just in time for the summer! Simtraks linked up with NC emcee SkyBlew and mixed in some strong notes from songstress Meredith Fann to produce “Don’t Walk Away” – a warm Rap-n-B cut to chill to. Nice! I have been watching SkyBlew’s movement for quite some time now. He has yet to disappoint.

R&B: Tweet – “Trouble”
R&B singer Tweet releases the second installment to her #TweetTuesday series with this new joint called “Trouble”. Now this joint is appears to be an original song unlike the Aretha Franklin “Day Dreaming” remake she let loose on the web last week for #TweetTuesday. I’m feeling this joint right here & may have to add it to my itunes slow jam playlist. Another quality record that will have people looking forward to her next full-length project to be released on the L.A. based Dubose Music Group.
T.I. – “Love This Life” (Video)
When I first heard this record I knew this was a certified hit from the bankhead Atlanta representer. Maybe I’m getting old or something but I don’t think he needed to curse in the chorus of the record for it to be hot. It is what it is though. New video for the lead single off of T.I.’s upcoming album “Troubleman”.
Rapper Big Pooh x !llmind – “The Love?” (featuring Alexis Jones)
!llmind provides the driving beat for North Carolina’s Rapper Big Pooh to spit over….WELL! The track also features haunting echo chants & vocals from Alexis Jones on the chorus. Energetic yet dark. Play “The Love?” & hear it for yourself!

R&B/Soul: Lili K – One Date (Remix)
Here is producer Peter Cottontale’s remix to “One Date†by Chicago vocalist Lili K. The offering is a jazzy track; soulful with a nice bounce to the beat.
Ayentee – Mos Common Thought (Frankensteined Vol.1) (Mixtape)
DOWNLOAD: AYENTEE – MOS COMMON THOUGHT (FRANKENSTEINED VOL.1)
Here is the first installment of a series called “Frankensteined.” The project’s Bay Area orchestrator, Ayentee, is a self-described out-of-the-box producer who set out to redefine “the remix” as we know it. “Mos Common Thought (Frankensteined Vol.1)” blends three unique emcees from three unique regions of the United States – Mos Def (Brooklyn), Common (Chicago), and Black Thought (Philadelphia) – over melodic beats to create a brand new listening experience. Listen to the result. And, hey, enjoy a “Bonus Track” on the house! You’re welcome.

The ‘Target Killers’ Of Pakistan (Video)
Ran across this interesting interview with a Pakistani assassin who talked with Vice Magazine about the circumstances why he chose this profession, the people he’s killed, & more. Check out more backstory regarding this interview below….
“The target killers of Karachi, Pakistan, assassinate politicians, police, and protesters for as little as $700 a pop. In this excerpt from “The VICE Guide to Karachi,” VICE cofounder Suroosh Alvi interviews an armed target killer in the backseat of a taxi.
Mainstream news outlets are virtually devoid of information about the target killers of Karachi, Pakistan. This is probably because even if you manage to land an interview with one, there’s always the chance you will be murdered before completing it. Those of you who have already watched The VICE Guide to Karachi know that somehow, someway, VICE co-founder Suroosh Alvi figured out a way to do it.
For the rest of you, we have excised Suroosh’s ominous but candid interview with one of Karachi’s approximately 600 target killers so that you can whet your beak now and plan to watch the full-length version tonight at home. Their conversation took place in in the backseat of a car, the hitman wearing a motorcycle helmet and his pistol stashed in between Suroosh’s feet as he confessed the bloody truth about his work and the very dismal state of affairs in his hometown”
The Vice Guide To Karachi: Pakistan’s Most Violent City (Video)
“Sure, we hear about violence in Pakistan all the time, but in 2011, more than three times as many people were killed in Karachi than the number of people killed in American drone strikes in the tribal areas. VICE explores the seedy underbelly of this ultra-violent metropolis of more than eighteen million people, and meet the players who make Karachi one of the craziest cities on earth.” – Suroosh Alvi, Co-Founder VICE Magazine

R&B/Soul: Behind The Lens Of… Dwele – “What Profit?” (Video)
The Detroit homie Dwele has another dope project on the way & was recently shooting the video for his latest single “What Profit?” up there in their in Detroit. Dwele has a good visual eye as a self-taught video director himself in addition to consistently killing it with the quality R&B/Soul music, but this time he put the vision in the hands of his fellow ‘D-Boy’ director Darren Brown to execute his creative concept.

Nas Intended To ‘Hang’ Jay-Z At The 2002 Summer Jam Concert (Video)
During the height of the battle between Nas & Jay-Z, there were rumors that Nas had planned to hang a likeness of Jay-Z during his performance of the 2002 Summer Jam performance at Giants stadium. It was said that the executives at NY’s Hot 97 stopped it from happening & an upset Nasir Jones bowed out of the show. It’s interesting that all this video is coming out now in 2012, but when pressed about it by reporters Nas refused to comment. Check out the video above & Nas’s response when questioned by MTV below……

Big K.R.I.T. – “Thank You Kindly”
The Mississippi native’s official Def Jam debut album “Live From The Underground” is doing well on the charts coming in as the #1 Hip Hop album in the country & landing at #4 overall so Big K.R.I.T. decided to let this ‘audio thank you letter’ fly for all the fans that pushed & supported. Your welcome sir…..
“I wanted to thank all the fans for the support, so I did this one for ya’ll.” #ThankYouKindly – Big K.R.I.T.
Psalm One x R.A. The Rugged Man – “Open Relationship” (Video)
There is so much that is RIGHT with this “Open Relationship” (er…the video, too)! R.A. the Rugged Man directed the video in which he also stars. Even doing double-duty, he does not slack on the skills and delivery for this joint (neither does partner-in-rhyme Psalm One). Throw in a cameo from Bumpy Knuckles and some dashes of freaky fun, and we have a hit! Whimsical, lyrical, and a little kinky. It’s all that. Enjoy!

Nas Talks “Daughters” & Using Explicit Lyrics in His Music (Video)
In this clip, Nas engages a CNN panel (Soledad O’Brien, Roland Martin, among others), sharing insights on being a father (especially to his teenage daughter, Destiny) and being authentic as an artist with regard to his use of explicit lyrics in his songs. Great piece!
