I’m glad to see Teedra Moses drop a new mixtape now that she’s officially an artist on Rick Ross’s Maybach Music Group. A talented singer & songwriter of her caliber needs to get the type of publicity & looks that she deserves more than just penning hits for big names like Mary J. Blige & Raphael Saadiq. I still find myself bumping her first album Complex Simplicity while cruising the streets especially during the summer months. Seems like the suits at MMG wanted Teedra to bring more of that feeling by dropping this mixtape yesterday. Her first full length album ‘Lioness’ on MMG will drop sometime next year but this Luxurious Undergrind mixtape should hold true fans like us over. The complete tracklisting is under the hood…..

I can only imagine what the male employees did to Alicia Keys’ wax replica of herself at the Madame Tussauds museum in New York City before the official unveiling. They may even need to hire additional security in case someone tried to take her replica home & literally ‘wax dat ass’. Hahaaa! The super beautiful Alicia Keys, who just so happens to be married to & has a new child with Swizz Beatz, unveiled her new wax likeness & also celebrated the 10 year anniversary of her debut album Songs In A Minor. So much so I didn’t think it was worth taking the time out to post it.  On this site I told the team here that the policy is to post what we like first & foremost. Every other consideration is just secondary. Now when Drake’s fellow Canadian ‘The Weeknd’ dropped this remix on the web a few days ago & it really sounded much much better.  Look for The Weeknd’s upcoming mixtape called ‘Thursday’ dropping soon.

Over the weekend I discover this soulful R&B song called ‘The Cure’ from Canadian artist Slakah The Beatchild. I’m not entirely familiar with Slakah The Beatchild’s work, but after posting a video he directed called ‘When It Comes To You’ for fellow Canadian songstress Ayah I decided to do further research on the web. Of course the first thing I found was this new track called ‘The Cure’ that he just dropped on the web but I also ran across his EPK that dropped sometime last year. I haven’t seen not one episode of this show The Voice in which Cee-Lo is a judge. I don’t really watch television that often anyway unless I just so happen to catch television on the web. Many people were talking about Cee-Lo’s performance on twitter where he stepped out from behind the desk as a judge on the show & gave a tutorial on how true performers entertain. When Def Jam decided to turn Frank Ocean’s dope R&B mixtape into an album for sale I was wondering how in the hell they were gonna clear all of those samples. Frank Ocean is a truly talented singer & songwriter whose talent in those areas shined through, but the music itself employs many familiar audio references.
