MMA: The Underground Fighters Of Cuba (Video)
Fighting mixed martial arts in Cuba is not easy. Not just because MMA is demanding, or that life in Cuba is hard in many ways in general. It’s also hard because the fight is not just with the in-ring opponent; it’s with the government.
The Cuban government hasn’t legalized MMA for fear of losing its best boxers, so the fighters on coach Evelio Padron Ferrier’s team wrestle on concrete floors, use the ocean for endurance training, and practice techniques pulled from memory and bootlegged DVDs.
Nothing goes in or out of Cuba without facing obstacles. Freestyle fighting is no exception. Want to know more though? Follow VICE Fightland in to the den then.
Dynas x Tony Galvin – “What Up†(Video)
You know… Dynas got a jawn on that DJ EFN LP “Another Time.” But that’s not this. What this is… is a tribute to the late great J Dilla. Dynas with the “What Up†– teaming up with Miami producer Tony Galvin (who’s been busy doing work for T.I., Jeezy, Snoop, Mystikal, Trick Daddy, that TV show Entourage, that movie Any Given Sunday, ESPN’s 30 for 30, and on and on).
J Dilla’s still with us… Say it while you play it.
Mazzi x S.O.U.L. Purpose – “Our Sand” (Video)
Justice for some ain’t justice for all.

DJ EFN – “We Earned It†feat. Black Milk x Ras Kass x Cory Gunz x Black Collar (Prod. By Hazardis Soundz)

Raekwon With A Wu-Tang Memory: A Push-Up Competition With ODB… After Smoking Dust (Video)
You know how blogs try to jazz up the titles and bylines to get readers to come read posts. Well, there was not much “jazzing” to do on this one. It’s Raek, talking Wu-Tang, specifically ODB… remembering when he, Dirty B and a gang ‘o ninjas got down with some “dust” then got down on the floor and knocked out thousands of pushups. Fitness plan for your a$$ to be certain! Wow.
MAHD – “GMWAMN” feat. Guilty Simpson (Prod. By Jeff Gore)
Tell you right now: There is no rest spot in this song. At 100 right from the start (no zero)! The beat bangs and builds the tension so this duo can go IN with the lyricism. Hell, they just wanna “Get Money With All My N!ggas”… but MAHD and Guilty Simpson are letting this heater off the “13” LP go for the FREE.99 below! Beat by Jeff Gore.
Kendrick Lamar – ‘King Kunta’ (Video)
One of my favorite hip hop albums out right now gets a brand new video for the new single ‘King Kunta.’ Definitely one of the key songs I’m feeling from Kendrick Lamar’s new album ‘To Pimp A Butterfly’ that’s out right now, but I need a video for ‘The Blacker The Berry’ instead of this short one I replay over & over again from my personal instagram page. The song ‘Complexion’ could use a dope visual too, but dammit the whole album may need one. It’s just that dope. It’s clear the homie Kendrick Lamar is winning on his own terms.

KhayDaKing – “Soul Searching” (Prod. By Lex Boogie From The Bronx) [Video]
Respect to the youth! KhayDaKing is certainly setting off on his Hip-Hop journey along the right path; with a righteous beat from Lex Boogie From The Bronx (hard to go wrong with that). Part of Lex’s latest (on the way) – “CLYDE” – this is the visual “Soul Searching.” Check it out! And get more on the man behind the lyrics after the jump.
DJ Scratch: “We Have Accepted Biting, And Biting Was Not Allowed In Hip-Hop” (Video)
The truth hurts. So get ready for some pain, as DJ Scratch (turntable controller for EPMD back in the day) delivers truth and insight into the ‘why’ behind Hip-Hop’s homogeneity nowadays. The beats sound the same. Truth. The rhymes? No need to even say it. But considering DJ Scratch’s Golden Era pedigree, it is amazing that he is able to break it down for us in the video above without losing his cool or shedding a tear about our music’s loss of authenticity.
(Feel it when Scratch says he did not even want to copy any of DJ Jazzy Jeff’s techniques and standards back in the day… They were HIS… and the rule for all things Hip-Hop was: No biting allowed!)
DeadEndHipHop: To Pimp a Butterfly Review (Video)
So Kendrick Lamar’s latest album has dropped and it has created all kinds of discussion about “To Pimp A Butterfly”. Â Well our friends over at DeadEndHipHop have dropped their review on the album and it is one you want to check out. The guys Feefo, Kinge, Myke C-Town, Beezy, and Rod dissect the album and of course have conversations that lead them to a Dead End at times (pun intended). Â The thing about DEHH is these brothers don’t just deal with it on a surface level they back up their opinions and are okay with not always agreeing with each other. Â Glad to see that they are being recognized even Kendrick shouted them out on MTV check out the clip after the jump!

So nice. SO very nice. Loaded with treats for the eyes and ears. And that’s the real ish from PHONY PPL. Set like a video model open call, the crew gets a lot of lovely ladies to fall through. The visual concept seems to take on a life of its own from that. Smooth fun. Oh, and the project “Yesterday’s Tomorrow” is out now (linked here)

The Rise of MMA in Jordan (Documentary)
“We went to Jordan’s capital city of Amman where Palestinian refugee and Brazilian jiu-jitsu master Samy Al-Jamal teaches Jordanians and Muslim seekers from around the world the secrets of mixed martial arts. Then we met Rana Qubbaj, the first female Arab woman to win an International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation tournament. With a smile perpetually on her face, Qubbaj works to overcome both her opponents and any number of familial, social, and cultural issues raised by a woman doing combat sports in the Middle East.”
Pete Rock – ‘One,Two, A Few More’

Now, I get a chance to release this and more new & unreleased music never heard by my fans with Mello. This instrumental LP will inspire the masses in anything you are doing. Just apply P2 to it and get on the road to success.†– Pete Rock
