Rapsody – “Godzilla” (Video)

There’s a worldwide alert for “Godzilla” right now, but he’s not attacking the coasts of Japan. The gigantic Godzilla sound is coming all the way from South Africa by way of North Carolina as 9th Wonder & his first lady of Jamla, Rapsody, dropped the new visuals for the track that appears on her latest release ‘Beauty & The Beast’ that’s out now.  Godzilla himself would approve of these monster beats.

Marvel’s ‘Ant-Man’ (Trailer)

Captain America was the “First Avenger”… but this “Ant Man” (with Paul Rudd as the lead) is going to be a whole other kind. Marvel may have landed another established Hollywood name who pulls off the role like you’d never expect. Sure, looking back you can totally see Robert Downey, Jr., as Tony Starks. But were you sure he could be the “Iron Man” you’d accept?

Now, Marvel is a franchise. A Marvel Universe is developing in film and TV. Think: Will this Rudd “Ant Man” fit? Is this trailer what you’d expect (or come to accept)? Watch and see – the trailer and the movie coming to theaters July 17, 2015.

Wise ‘old man’ (Michael Douglas) giving the pep talk and power to the unassuming hero assuming the save-the-world role… a little Captain America style set up. Great visual tech (Rudd is riding an ant!) and the not-corny costume… Looking good so far. Let’s go Marvel!

Comedy: Ghostface Killah Speaks On ‘Serious’ Topics Of The Day – Obama, Cosby And More (Video)

The microchip is real. This ain’t fake baby… Neither is your man Tony Starks, even when he is being funny. Skydiving, foot massages, police “protecting and serving” and so much gets touched in a relatively short clip.

“He put in work. He just gotta f#ck problem…Bill shocked me…”
Ghostface Killah

Ghost said dudes shouldn’t do ballet and The Coz was wildin’ out back in the day. Wow. The range. Random as hell; but you cannot help but watch to the end.

Young Zee – “Dear Shady” (Video)

Eminem was an a member of the Outsidaz (with Young Zee & Pace Won) back in the guts of the Golden Era. He shouted to the old crew and Zee in his “Fine Line” cut. Turnabouts is respect and love. Take a trip back with Zee – including that ’90s footage that you remember even if you never saw it (nothing like Hip-Hop TV back then) – with his response to Em, “Dear Shady.”

Pardon The Interruption: DJ Premier x Royce Da 5’9 Crashes Phonte’s ‘PRhyme’-Time Interview (Video)

You plan for the unexpected as best you can, and it still happens. But if you are lucky, that’s a good thing!

PRhyme, also known as DJ Premier and Royce Da 5’9,” made their way into the STASHED studio as we were interviewing Phonte. Rather than having them wait, the three old friends all joined in one long conversation. Among the topic discussed include their history together, being grown men in Hip-Hop, and possibly working together on a new project.

It’s a happy half-hour of eavesdropping you will gladly spend with Phonte (Phontigallo-tigallo-tigallo), DJ Premier and Royce Da 5’9…if you simply click play above.

Red Pill – “All Of Us” (Prod. By Apollo Brown)

a3119738661_10

If Eric Garner looked like me, he would’ve never been killed.
Red Pill

Now THAT’S a powerful opening for some Rhythmic American Poetry. Must be that Red Pill stands for freeing minds from ‘The Matrix’ and letting us see the world for what it is. At least that’s what it seems Red Pill is going in for on this Apollo Brown track. Take a listen to “All Of Us,” and do it again to let it sink in.

RED PILL – ALL OF US (PROD. BY APOLLO BROWN)

Big Game (Trailer)

Oh… well damn. We’re doing me-Tarzan-you-President movies now?? Looks action-packed though! Seems as though Samuel L. Jackson is taking a ‘Nick Fury’ break and letting this up-and-coming action hero (Onni Tommila) do the heavy lifting in this one. That kid is a bad ass. Watch the trailer above for “Big Game.”

A young teenager camping in the woods helps rescue the President of the United States when Air Force One is shot down near his campsite.

Young Buck – “New Years Cake” Freestyle (Video)

Damn, I guess y’all love me again. These R&B b!tches wanna come f#ck me again…

It’s Young Buck (of G-Unit) over that fire “Pound Cake” by Drake instrumental. He must have followed somebody’s auntie recipe… because this “New Years Cake” came out just right! Not too sweet; and a lot of heat. Shots fired in general directions; but they know who they are. Buck’s back on it…

Eye Candy: Lexc Michelle (Video)

My my my. Someone has been to sexy class and passed with flying colors. You did know that there are different kinds of thickness, right? I would say Lexc Michelle is that fit thick chick that is a “can’t miss.” Shout to videographer Duane G for capturing the full sensual essence. When that robe falls off Lexc’s shoulder… wooo! I swear I reach at the screen to put it back up for her.

Damn, that was HOT! And I don’t even like it when Honeyz smoke. But this one …wowwwww!

“Who’s Driving Hip Hop” Has Headkrack Along For The Ride (Video)

I find this “Who’s Driving Hip-Hop” concept to be hella creative & dope. Heavy on the guest and their story; but also taking care of business (mentioning the vehicle they’re in; best believe somebody kicked in on the budget for the promo mention). Good guest selection by the way: Headkrack (of Bodega Brovas) is an on-air radio personality, a character on or offline and a dope emcee (earlier posts on him here).

VICE: The Real Kenny Powers (Documentary)

The HBO comedy ‘Eastbound and Down’ ushered in of a new type of dark hilarity and became a television cult classic in the process. The protagonist, Kenny Powers, is an obnoxious, crass Southerner who has fallen from grace after his professional baseball career has abruptly ended. But who was the inspiration for the character?

Saw a couple of episodes but really did not follow the HBO show starring Danny McBride. This VICE expo might make me go find a season or two though. Interesting factoids and insights brought out by VICE reporter Gianna Toboni. Here’s a good one to start: McBride and “The Real Kenny Powers” (widely believed to be former Atlanta Braves baseball standout John Rocker) were both born in the same hospital in Statesboro (Georgia, USA). Small town, small world.

You can’t fix ‘sucks’…
John Rocker
