Libya: Life After Qaddafi (Video)
Life after the Libyan revolution has devolved into lawlessness and Islamic State–linked extremism...not a progressive or safe place to be. So, who went going right into the thick of post-Qaddafi Libya to bring us in-depth reporting and insight? Progressive, hard-hitting VICE NEWS.
Three years after the Libyan revolution and the subsequent downfall of its dictator Muammar Qaddafi, the country has descended further into chaos and insecurity. Rebel militias, radical Islamists, and former Qaddafi commander Khalifa Haftar are among the different groups vying for power and oil wealth, creating a vacuum in which violence and militancy reign supreme.
VICE News filmmaker Medyan Dairieh was there – in Libya in 2011 – to witness the revolution. Now, he goes back; to embed himself with the 17th February battalion, a rebel group fighting against Haftar’s forces and for Libya’s Future as a nation.

Sex & Broadcasting (Trailer)
We know the story of WFMU, 91.1 FM New York. Not specifically that station, but about hardworking folk who work at a radio show, doing shows and the work it takes to make them out of pure love (e.g. no money), devotion and a sense of duty to the community. We have been doing it for years, for our show – Beatz & Lyrics – every week, for listeners worldwide. So this trailer touched a special part of our collective soul.
Check out the trailer for the VICE documentary on the New Jersey station. Looks good!

You know… when you grow up to be 5’5″ tall, and play basketball… you can get so far. Someone will coach you up; let you play… like through high school or so. After that you are likely on your own. At 5’5″ and want to slam dunk? Man, you are on your own!
Fine by Brandon Todd. He decided he wanted to dunk…hard. So tried hard, studied hard, worked out extraordinarily HARD and applied what he learned (about physical development)… and… well, watch!
“You see someone small. Don’t count them out!”
– Brandon Todd
Great story. Inspirational. Call the kids over to watch with you.

The Black Opera – “Beginning Of The End” feat. Georgia Anne Muldrow (Prod. By Tall Black Guy) [Video]
Oh yeah. TBO is the way you get things started. Your day. Your week. Hell, make it “The Great Year” (album link below). Mind-body exercise with Georgia Anne Muldrow taking us to breaks; over a beat banged out by Tall Black Guy. Deep dopeness…
“What we call the beginning is often the end. And to make an end is to make a beginning. The end is where we start from.
The Black Opera enlist the Queen Georgia Anne Muldrow to reinforce the multilinear concept of the beginning and the end. This songs nuance stands for power, rebirth, triumph, completion, and exultation. It is TBO’s audible Alpha and Omega.”

Apollo Brown Speaks From Experience: ‘Be Inspired’ And Stay With It (Video)
You gotta keep doing it… If it makes you happy…
– Apollo Brown
There’s the wisdom. Whether Apollo Brown ever ‘made it’ or not, life gave him opportunity to chase his dream full-time; after being laid-off from a 9-to-5. No doubt, he was making beats even when he had a day job. He was determined to stay at it. Plus, as he hopes for others out there doing what he had to do (working, living within his means, all while pursuing a music career), he gets fulfillment from his craft. Take heart. Be inspired!

Kendrick Lamar Speaking With DJ Whoo Kid On His Music, His Moves, His Take On Hip-Hop Today & More (Video)

Kendrick Lamar stopped by The Whoolywood Shuffle promoting his latest single “i”. He speaks on traveling to St. Louis to gain Ron Isley’s permission for use of his “That Lady” sample. K. Dot also confirms George Clinton collaborations are underway.
There are also motivational gems contained within the interview. One being that Kendrick emphasizes the basis of challenging yourself. He said “Challenge yourself, and don’t take instances for granted.” “Whether it’s a 16, a hook, or 4 bars challenge yourself. And this is why Hip-Hop is at a point where creativity is stagnant, because artists aren’t challenging themselves.”
