Politics/Economics: America Hates Its Poor (Video)
The hard truth about America: We are at war. All of us. It’s internal… and just barely civil. We have already seen an occupation of strategic grounds (Wall Street) and the battle lines have been drawn. But don’t think Democrat/Liberal vs. Republican/Conservative (there are battlefields within parties anyway)… and don’t think (as we have) of haves vs. have-nots… The truth is simple, but not because it is oversimplified. It is hard because it is harsh. It is hard, like difficult – not to understand, but to understand how citizens/humans/institutions could allow this and allow it to continue. And it is hard, because it will be difficult to end the war. To think, all this from reading an article (that you should read, too) at Salon.com…
So, that’s how we should view the sides in our modern civil war: The arrestable vs. the unarrestable… and you KNOW most of the sh!t the unarrestable (e.g. the 1% and those protected by them) gets away with would land most of us in prison. Now, no one is saying ‘be mad at the haves for having’ … no more so than you want anyone less fortunate being mad at you for walking/driving by when you have change/time to spare. Nah, be mad at how they do you… how they lie to you. You know, the stuff that you’d be mad about if someone did it right to your face… because they DO THAT SH!T… ev-er-y day! Watch the clip above (from a ‘have’ who has chosen to give a Ted Talk on the truth). Read the article we read… Hell, read the book it references (both linked below)… Then take time to think and decide for yourself, while you can; before that comes under attack!
NOAM CHOMSKY: AMERICA HATES ITS POOR (SALON)
OCCUPY: REFLECTIONS ON CLASS WAR, REBELLION AND SOLIDARITY (AMAZON)
Raekwon – “Lions Paw”
Chef dropped something hot just now. Him rocking over the old school Premier production (the beat to GangStarr’s “Mass Appeal”) is something he chose to call “Lions Paw.” Nice.
RAEKWON – LIONS PAW
Sean Price – “Fei Long”
No explanations or inkling of what-the-fudge necessitated this drop… or what it will be on. But that’s par for the course when it comes to P nowadays, isn’t it? So, you can waste time worrying about the missing details or spend it enjoyably rocking with “Fei Long” – the latest quick spit from Sean Price.
(Advice: Choose the latter. Thank us later.)

Joey Bada$$ Finds His Grandfather & A Deeper Sense Of Self After Returning To His Roots In St. Lucia (Video)
How many labels send their talent home? Like home home… across some waters. Kudos to Pro Era (and Cinematic Music Group and Lifted Research Group) for giving us insight into the DNA of an MC with the tools to be a G.O.A.T. one day. But really knowing that the island flow in him is something he has channeled unknowingly, this trip is Joey Bada$$’s opportunity to meet his Grandfather for the very first time.
Stephanie Santiago as ‘Bonita Applebum’ During A Tribe Called Quest’s New York Performance (Full Video)
A Tribe Called Quest opened for Kanye West on the Yeezus tour & most definitely the highlight of their set had to be when “Bonita Applebum” showed up in all her glory. Model Stephanie Santiago set the internet on fire with her appearance during Q-Tip, Phife, Jarobi, & Ali Shaheed Muhammad’s set. There were literally hundreds of internet videos & photos of the event, but this video shot by my homie DJ Rasta Root was clearly the best video in it’s full entirely. Lawd have mercy
Jarobi Is The Guest For A Special ATCQ Edition Of OKP’s “The Questions” (Video)
So the shows A Tribe Called Quest are doing in NYC shows with Kanye West are their “final” performances, eh? We’ll see. Well, if anyone can speak on such and more things ATCQ, Jarobi White can. In a sit down for OK Player, Jarobi speaks on his gig, restaurant biz, music, rumors of his death… You know, typical interview stuff. Hahaa! Good clip though. Watch.

Kanye West Stops By Sway In The Morning To Talk About A Life Without Boundaries (Video)
“Willy Wonka didn’t stop making chocolate because he started making other things… People want to marginalize me from the top all the way to the bottom…It’s people who just want to hear the music that are like ‘don’t work on nothing else ’cause we love your music so much’…”
– Kanye West on ‘Sway In The Morning’
The “Yeezus” Tour is Kanye’s demo tape… his stage play… movie. And that’s just the musical expansion. Above: Kanye West talks to Sway In The Morning about the music, his mentors, his messages, fashion and more.
Brands, boundaries, borders… they do NOT fit Ye. Don’t try it! Try to follow the conversation though. Interesting insights from the man and mogul about music and much more.
Word to the wise: Adjust your ‘focus’ around the 14-minute mark so you can understand how things go OFF THE RAIL! The brothers work it out though. Just don’t try to turn up on Sway either. Just saying Ye.
Think that’s something? Check out the Power 105 Breakfast Club appearance (after the jump).
