One my favorite songs from Frank Ocean off of his latest album “channelORANGE” was the uptempo banger called ‘Lost’. I’ve had this song & the second half of ‘Pyramids’ on repeat thousands of times over the past few months. Glad to see that just like the ‘Pyramids’ record they decided to move on a visual to “Lost” as well. Toronto emcee & producer Rich Kidd understands that & it works for him on this DJ Dahi produced track called “I’d Be Lying” where he laments about how things aren’t all good in his life at the moment in his quest to greater things. Hopefully it gets better with his next project ‘In My Opinion’ due April 16th. VIBE to this joint below……
“This song is about me coming to terms with shit in my life and being real with myself. I usually smile and brush shit off like nothing can dent my armor but in my head i have insecurities and doubts like the next man. The same way you got to live with regrets, you also have to live with the truth. It’s inescapable. Many try and hide from their own truths because they fear failure, non-acceptance, or maybe it’s a pride issue. Either way, this is me venting because I felt I needed to. I’d be lying if I said this wasn’t one of my more personal songs but I’d be dying if I didn’t share it with you.”

Often when I bump into people on the street anywhere in the world & we bring him up I find people still haven’t made the connection yet as well. Once they do make that connection then they already know that Yasiin Bey will represent on stage no matter where he is on the planet. With critics blasting Jay-Z about his trumped up yet relatively small ownership percentage of the Brooklyn Nets that he’s being forced by the NBA to sell for $350,000, his controversial trip to Cuba with his wife Beyonce, and quite possibly the recent Dame Dash interview that’s been the talk of the internet over the past 2 days, Beyonce’s husband vents on this track featuring Swizz Beatz produced by Timbaland. If you ask me Jay-Z maybe throwing President Obama under the bus about his Cuba trip on this song & seems like he could also be dissin’ the Russians that own the majority share of the Brooklyn Nets by referring to them as ‘Dweebs’. It’s not entirely clear. Jay-Z has always taken subliminal shots at various people so nothing is ever really clear & direct but it’s not too hard to figure who some of the shots are aimed at. It is what it is…
