‘“The Black Tape” is my debut project that is themed around Black History Month. The purpose of this project was to showcase my ability as a producer as well as provide listeners with music containing substance that seems to be lacking in our current industry. The speeches featured on this tape touch on an array of topics from, spirituality to politics, to self-sufficiency and empowering our communities by taking education, and business into our own hands. Within these changing times, the focal point of progression is not geared towards racial equality, as much as it once was, but rather knowing how our decisions as individuals effect humanity as a whole.

Black Kennedy) presents his “Black Kennedy” mixtape. 20 tracks, over 80 minutes of music, with guests galore (like Jozeemo, Amanda Barrino, Dasan Ahanu, Johnny Juliano, Wreck N Crew, J. Harris and Fluent) and producers including M-Phazes and D.R.U.G.S.
‘“Black Kennedy” is a creative step forward for me as an artist, where I can make bigger records, without sacrificing my artistry or abandoning my fan base. This record is North Carolina, and the way we do things. The Kennedy family persona is American royalty. JFK was a gifted, down to earth politician and visionary, while maintaining the presence of a trendsetter, and the allure of an international playboy, all in one. Leaders such as himself, and Dr. King, were so powerful, yet still for the people. They inspire me to recreate that lane where you can be intelligent, yet strong, and still be cool.

You know that pic you wished you had not sent? You know… that picture. Well, if you used the Snapchat app, it’s like you didn’t. People using the app send messages, pictures, and even video that quickly disappear, so there’s no pressure to look cool… or worrying that the receiver will have permanent “dirt” on you (think: angry ex with that nude Valentine’s Day pic you sent). If someone cheats and tries to take a screenshot of your snap to keep, the app notifies you. And in the realm of Snapchat, getting caught trying to beat… er… the system by capturing a screen image of what was sent is taboo. Of course, folks have started to figure out ways to save images without getting caught; so if you choose to use the free app, use care.
