Prodigy Speaks On Saigon, Tupac, Jay-Z, & His Health (Video)
In this interview Prodigy details further why I have the utmost respect for Mobb Deep as a group. I get into it sometimes with Jay-Z fans who have a revisionist history about how Mobb Deep represented for the east coast back in the day when many other artists on the east coast were quiet as hell. Especially Jay-Z. In this interview Prodigy speaks on dealing with sickle cell anemia, his altercation with Saigon, beefing with Tupac back in the day & being willing to die for it, & how he felt when Jay-Z tried to fake like he’s always repped for NYC when it was time to do so for their city.

Ludacris – Bada Boom (Video)
Ludacris drops a new video for his diss record aimed at Big Sean & Drake who had been taking not so subtle shots at him a few months back. Luda is nice with his pen game & honestly I’d be surprised if they responded lyrically, but then again some people tend to be turned off by lyrical battles. Not me though…

J-Live – “The Authentic” (Video)
J-Live finally drops the video directed by the homie director Will Feagins he was telling us about on the Beatz & Lyrics Show for ‘The Authentic’. The banger appears on J-Live’s new album ‘S.P.T.A. (Said Person Of That Ability)’ that’s out now on his own Triple Threat Productions label. Keeping with the concept of the album itself, the video follows J-Live as three different entities as his own DJ, Producer, & emcee all with different personalities.
Demigodz – “Demigodz Is Back” (Prod. By Apathy)
After dropping his solo album “Honkey Kong” earlier this year with many bangers like the “Check To Check” joint which is a personal favorite of mine, Apathy reassembles with Celph Titled for the first single off the forthcoming 2012 Demigodz LP entitled “Demigodz Is Back.” To drive the point of the album title home with the new single, Apathy finds inspiration from my hometown of Philly in flipping the Bill Conti classic “Gonna Fly Now” from the “Rocky” films. Here come the horns. It sounds like the brothas are training & ready to get back in this ring they call hip hop as a group….
Mobb Deep – “Dead Man’s Shoes” feat. Bounty Killa (Video)
The M.O.B.B. just dropped their Black Cocaine EP on Tuesday & the first video they’re working from the project is ‘Dead Man Shoes’ which features Bounty Killa on the track. If you’ve just eaten lunch you may not want to watch this joint right now. This video should have come out around Halloween or something. Maybe sorta graphic for some of you. Ultimately I need Mobb Deep to eventually shoot a video for that “Get It Forever” track featuring Nas. That’s my pick right there if they shoot anymore vids for the EP…
B.O.B. & The Roots Perform ‘Strange Clouds’ On Jimmy Fallon (Video)
B.O.B’s new single is one of my favorite new joints right now especially from a musical & production standpoint. Last night on the Jimmy Fallon show B.O.B. flipped it a little & it still sounded dope. I may have to rip me an audio copy of this joint right here because this live version really sounds special….
CyHi The Prynce Visits Emory University’s Cancer Institute (Video)
It’s Thanksgiving & one of the things many of us should be thankful for is our health. CyHi The Prynce stopped by the Winship Cancer Institute at Emory University in Atlanta recently to shed some light on the good work that’s being done & to highlight how much more is needed….
Reggae: I-Wayne – “Life Teachings” (Documentary)
I Wayne’s now classic “Can’t Satisfy Her” & “Living In Love” are two of his joints that I never get tired of hearing. Those were two big hit tunes that crossed over into many mainstream urban clubs & also launched him into international stardom. Despite some of the critical success of his debut album Lava Ground, I Wayne hasn’t done a gang of interviews with the media that I feel could have catapulted him a little farther. His publicity & interviews seemed very limited even for a reggae artist with a hit that was crossing over. This documentary comes at a good time with I Wayne’s third album ‘Life Teachings’ that just dropped in October.
Cam’ron – “Motivation” (Prod. By Araabmuzik)
N.O.R.E – “Scared Money” feat. Pusha T & Meek Mill (Video)
N.O.R.E. drops the first official video from his upcoming movie & album N.O.R.E. wrote entitled “S.U.P.E.R.T.H.U.G.” featuring Virginia’s Pusha T & Philly’s own Meek Mill. The video directed by WmMillions was shot in both in Meek Mill’s hometown of Philly & of course in N.O.R.E.’s former home of Queens New York. Alotta cameos in this joint from Wale, Young Chris, Tone Trump, Ab-Liva, & several others. Click on the photo above or go under the hood to watch the video…

Dwight Howard x Big Sean’s Adidas Commercial (Video)
Dwight Howard’s new commercial for his adiZero Crazy Light features Detroit’s Big Sean in the clip & also utilizes his hit strip club anthem “Ass”(Dance) as the background music. Hopefully that choice of song isn’t any indication of how quality these 9.8oz Adidas ultra light kicks really are. I truly don’t believe they’ll be an NBA season this year, but there’s always work at Footlocker selling kicks. Right Superman?
yU – “If U Down”
Damn it was less than a week ago when D.C. producer & emcee yU dropped “A Garbage Beattape” of instrumentals that was far from basura, but the brother just blessed the real heads with the first single to his upcoming album “The Earn” which is due to drop on Mellow Music Group on December 13th. This is the second solo album from the D.C. native following his debut album “Before Taxes”. Like we said before in a previous post, yU is an ill emcee & underrated producer as a soloist outside of his group Diamond District, but this time he enlists his homie SlimKat78 on the production duties. Peep out the banger below…
Rajon Rondo’s Forehead Alley-oop (Video)
Rajon Rondo throws an alley-oop to Rudy Gay during the Boston Charity Classic at Harvard University. What else is there to do during a lockout. Yep….STILL NO NBA. I repeat: STILL NO FLIPPIN NBA!!!

Common On The Rickey Smiley Morning Show (Video)
Hip Hop veteran, actor, & author Common was in Atlanta for the Soul Train Awards and stopped by Hot 107.9 with our homie Headkrack who is a co-host on the Rickey Smiley Morning Show to talk about his multi-faceted career, the diversity of his fans and the women he has loved. The Chicago emcee had some interesting things to say about ex flames Serena Williams, Erykah Badu and Taraji P. Henson. Common also talked about how he inserted hip hop into his role in the new animated film Happy Feet Two, and he also kicked a live version of his classic “I Used to Love H.E.R.†in the studio…
Pusha T Appears on HBO’s ‘How To Make It In America’ Series (Video)
I’ve just started checking out HBO’s “How To Make It In America”. I’m kind of on the fence with that show, but we’ll see if the show keeps my interest over time like Entourage has & Boardwalk Empire continues to do for me now. Besides Kid Cudi becoming a regular character on the show, Pusha T made an appearance spitting Sunday night in the season finale…

Danny Brown Is In A “Detroit State of Mind” (Video)
Another video in the FADER/Vitamin Water series Uncapped. This time we have Danny Brown on tap. The cameras follow the Detroit representer around to provide the audience more insight into who he is as a person. Danny Brown makes some good music, but his fashion tastes have been questionable as hell over the past year though…
