David Banner – “Magnolia” feat. Cee-Lo x Raheem DeVaughn

David Banner be banging! This release, “Magnolia,” off the forthcoming project “The God Box” (pre-order link below) is painfully deep with a story over a dope beat.

The song represents the relationship of trees in Mississippi and Africans throughout history. The taller the tree, the broader the story, the shorter the tree, the more personal the perspective is. My verse is about the relationship between the magnolia tree and Africans during slavery.
David Banner

“The God Box” has vocal performance features from Cee-Lo and Raheem (obviously) and Big K.R.I.T from the Magnolia State; plus Black Thought (of The Roots), Trinidad James, WatchtheDuck and Big Rube. Production assists come from DJ Khalil, DJ Swiff, and more.

If there ever was a time we needed Goodie Mob to hit the scene again with some new music it couldn’t have been better than now. Goodie Mob returns with this brand new inspirational track called “Is That You God?” which is in line with the vibe & message that true fans like myself respect the Goodie Mob for. The track will also be featured in the upcoming dramatic comedy film “The Obama Effect” that hits select theaters July 13th starring Charles S. Dutton (Roc), Katt Williams, Meagan Good, & even boxer Zab Judah. The movie is about an insurance salesman, played by Charles S. Dutton, who suffers a health scare that subsequently inspires him to join the 2008 Presidential campaign for Barack Obama.

The Goodie Mob performed on national television last night debuting their new single “Fight To Win” on NBC’s ‘The Voice’ where Cee-Lo is the host.  This particular song is very “Cee-Lo heavy” with the singing, but I guess it’s appropriate for the platform they were on last night.

Cee-Lo Green Is Catching ‘Bodies’ With His New Movie Trailer

One of the standout tracks on Cee-Lo Green’s ‘Lady Killer’ album is a song called ‘Bodies’ produced by Salaam Remi. This trailer dropped a day or two ago which suggests it’s an upcoming movie featuring Kerry Washinton & Janelle Monae. I seriously doubt it’s a full length movie, but I assume it will be more of a epically cinematic video similar to the one Cee Lo dropped for ‘Bright Lights, Bigger City’. Not only did I enjoy the song, but I enjoyed the look & feel of the video for that one. In case you missed the video for ‘Bright Lights, Bigger City’ I’ve included it after the jump….
