Mr. Sonny James (aka DJ Statik) – “Days Of Gray” [Mixtape]

music

Of course, our posting something means we think it is good and/or relevant… It’s an endorsement. And we don’t endorse just anything. But this endorsement of “Days Of Gray” – a mix by Mr. Sonny James – should be taken with a bit more weight because of who else says so. Turns out that Mr. Sonny James (aka DJ Statik) is #6 on DJ Jazzy Jeff’s “Your Favorite DJ’s Favorite Deejays” list! For real. You may start partying, knowing that Jeff (and JayForce.com) approves.

Snoop Dogg Gets ‘Deebo’ on GGN (Video)

You know that ‘six degrees’ game where you link celebrities to each other via the stuff they appeared in with celeb friends/costars they have in common? Snoop got ‘Deebo’ on GGN for some good chit-chat… AND got him to smile… big cheese’n (wonder how… hmm).

Kardinal Offishall – “Tattoo (Rudebwoy)” [Video]

Kardinal Offishall produced and directed the dope visuals for “Tattoo (Rudebwoy)” himself. “Tattoo” was filmed in various locations in Jamaica. Great ‘giving back’ story associated with the video shoot, too.

The school in Clonmel, Jamaica is located in the parish where 2 of Kardinal’s Grandparents came from and gave birth to several kids. The twist is that in reality, the day the video was shot, Kardinal donated computers, sports uniforms, shoes, cleats, books, calculators, pencils and the likes to the school children kids. Big thank you to Nike Canada, Jim Williams, Sherif Gerges, Natasha Borota and the MPCF, George Sully and Sully Wong, Ferris Rafauli and all who donated to make this possible.

Bravo, Kard’O!

Actor/Comedian Tracy Morgan: ‘Re-Animated,’ Reminiscing About Crazy Times With Family, And More (Video)

In a phone interview, actor/comedian Tracy Morgan tells UPROXX about the folks who influenced his style of comedy (from his dad and uncles to Bill Cosby and George Carlin). He goes on to talk about his current moves: missed out on getting to replace Letterman on ‘Late Night’ but Rio and Rio 2…hard work, nice checks! And ‘school lunch’ with President Obama? It’s kind of funny to think about; but something to think about though, right?

To punctuate the article, and make it more of a multimedia experience, UPROXX also shared a Tracy Morgan: ‘Re-Animated’ clip (courtesy of Comedy Central, embedded above).
