Killer Mike & El-P have formed a brand new group that they call “Run The Jewels”. I love that name for a rap group. Check out part one of their appearance on Complex TV’s program ‘The Combat Jack Show’ above.
In Episode 2 of ‘The Combat Jack Show’ – Mike and El-P below they speak on the state of Rap Radio, on what a DJ is supposed to be, and more.

Slum Village is currently touring the U.S. West Coast and Northeast and Canada on the Dirty Slums Tour. The tour skips the big pond to do stops in Europe starting May 15, 2013. The tour is in support of their “Dirty Slums 2” mixtape (out now) and their upcoming LP “Evolution” (due out June 25, 2013). NBC’s Saturday Night Live takes a shot at the recent high-cost, high society wedding of NBA great Michael Jordan to Yvette Prieto. The main ‘shooters’… Jason Sudeikis and guest host Zach Galifianakis played jugglers (Lee and Leslie Ocean from ‘Objects in Motion’) hired to perform at Jordan’s reception. Comedy ensues… with the two (and other ‘wedding guests’) poking fun at the newlyweds in the sketch clip above. Hilarious! Especially the ‘Dikembe Mutombo speech.’

Most of us have never lived the life of an NBA basketball star & its rare when you get some truly candid insight into the stuff that’s rarely ever talked about unless you speak to some of the players personally. (I’ve heard many interesting first-hand stories from NFL & NBA players I must say). While speaking with Bill Simmons on the Grantland podcast, former NBA star & current analyst Jalen Rose spoke on all the distractions that go on for NBA players. It goes without saying that some of the problems revolve around women. No matter the classification be it “wives”, “girlfriends”, “jump-offs”, or “road kill” they can all be uncomfortable distractions if you don’t know the rules & juggle them right. Hahaaaaa!

Recently I was speaking with a friend about great contemporary soul artists & Toronto singer Glenn Lewis’s name had come up. His now classic “Don’t You Forget It” & “Simple Things” , & “Good One” are just a few of my favorites. It got me to wondering where the brotha was with the new music lately. Seems like a higher power may have overheard our conversation as some new music from the T.Dot singer just dropped. Glenn Lewis new lead single “Can’t Say Love” is from of his upcoming album “Moment of Truth” (due out August 20, 2013). Lewis’ track orchestrated by CertiFYD Production Group. Good heartfelt, soulful offering to get the fans back right…
