Brasil is one of my favorite countries I’ve ever visited in my life (several times over) from the beautiful women, landscape, art, culture, & the music. Astute music heads in Brasil stopped into the Mary Pop club in Sao’ Paulo to become a part of the madness as Phonte & 9th Wonder rocked on stage & they were truly “Lovin It”.

Kelis Gives Her Thoughts On Nas ‘Life Is Good’ Album Cover (Video)

The upcoming album from Nas due July 17th entitled ‘Life Is Good’ features a somewhat controversial album cover of him holding the green wedding dress that his former wife Kelis wore at their wedding. Ironically she divorced him unexpectedly leaving nothing but the dress itself hanging in a closet. Nas spoke about this in his VH1: Behind The Music documentary special, but many people were wondering if Kelis would respond to Nas’s account of the seemingly cold way she left him hanging. While out on tour, Kelis gave her thoughts on the artistically relevant album cover. Surprisingly she didn’t diss the album cover & she didn’t dispute or speak on her behalf regarding what was reported in the way she left him hanging….

Mark Cuban Calls Out ESPN’s Skip Bayless & Other Sportswriters For Their Lack Of Research (Video)

I’ve said this many times via twitter that NBA analysts & sportswriters like Skip Bayless don’t do enough research but always speak in broad generalities about sports. The unfortunate thing about when this happens is there are some people that listen to these guys who make no freakin’ sense at all. Billionaire Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban appeared on ESPN’s First Take & damn near reduced Skip Bayless to what should be his real name “Skip Baseless” because rarely anything he ever says is rooted in fact but only on how he feels it should be. I believe one of the primary reasons for the Lebron James hate around the country is caused by casual sports fans listening to guys like Skip Baseless. This track caught my ear right from the click – a smooth instrumental melody that made me nod and bob. Get down to “Sunshine” however you do when a mellow groove comes through your speakers.

Nas Says “Life Is Good” is a ‘Complete Piece of Work’ (Video)

In this vignette, Nas gives us some insight on how he views the coming of his “Life Is Good” album. For the fan that knows Nas delivers every time, there is anticipation. Watching this video, you get the sense that Nas overcame trepidation as he worked – from conceptualization to choosing records to include on the album through the mastering of this release. Nas actually admits to still being nervous about what will be his TENTH solo effort. You know, that is probably why we ride with Nas. He still cares enough to REALLY worry over his work…to deliver quality. “Life Is Good” is going to be good…REALLY good!

I LIKE THESE GUYS – Simon Sez aka White Noize, Leonardo aka Mico, Tiy-e aka The Eternalist, Big Boss, Kingo aka Afro Samurai, Nick Abstract, A-Train, and G-lox. Collectively, these Brit emcees from Liverpool are known as Enter The Commission. They look to be coming out of the gate on a mission to bring Golden Era Hip-Hop stylings into the 21st Century. Now, that might sound cliché, but I get a genuine vibe from what I’ve seen and heard thus far. Here is a video for a song they call “Flying Guillotine” off their mixtape “Book of Five Rings: Methods of War.”

Nardwuar Interviews Metta World Peace (Video)

You know…Nardwuar does some REALLY GOOD INTERVIEWS! This time he put the mic to The NBA Baller Formerly Known as Ron Artest – Metta World Peace. In this video, Nardwuar still interviewed with the trademark quirkiness that is in keeping with his character; and he showed deep knowledge of his interviewee – as followers have come to expect. In particular, Nardwuar showed he knew a lot about Queensbridge Hip-Hop and NBA ball players who’ve held a mic; some of which was unknown to Metta World Peace (a Queensbridge B-Baller and Hip-Hop head). Just as endearing, the genuine appreciation Nardwuar has for the time Metta World Peace spends with him comes through. Most amazing: Metta World Peace stayed this side of quirky throughout the entire session (quite amiable, actually); not one crazy moment! Well…the “cockroaches” reference…but Nardwuar topped that with the grasshoppers! Just watch. Good interview. Really good!
