Black Thought – “History Unfolds”
“History Unfolds” is COLD! More heat from the latest EP! Black Thought gives us this beefy prime cut as an example of how to deliver max flavor. The result of an emcee with seasoning serving up something RAW #LyricalTartar

Robert Townsend Speaks On ‘Hollywood Shuffle’ & Being One Of The Architects Of Black Hollywood (Video)
Somebody was sitting next to me the other day, and she actually said, into her phone, “I didn’t even know that The Five Heartbeats was not a real group until yesterday.”
Turns out Envy & Charlamagne weren’t hip to it either. Um…WHAT????!! Haha!

The Black Eyed Peas – “Back 2 HIPHOP” feat. Nas (Video)
Seems right that Nas becomes iconic for the ‘standard’ of the realness, the best… of the Golden Era of Hip-Hop. Like the connection made in that previously unreleased Beastie Boys collab they had with him (here). Now, The Black Eyed Peas are tapping that vein.
This is the visual for the lead single for “Masters Of The Sun” (Vol. 1) by The Black Eyed Peas
Chromeo – “Don’t Sleep” feat. French Montana x Stefflon Don (Video)
Man, there has been some good dance music coming out as of late. Slide this one in and slide to it through the year-end. Visuals hot as Robin Givens with Robin in it (yes) and Stefflon (HOT) and Montana (cool)… This is a new groove from Chromeo – “Don’t Sleep” (for real)! Album out now.

BET’s Punchline Presents The “Creed 2 Cypher” (Video)
Raw uncooked barz! So good to see Bones Brigante still doing his thing. I remember his battles on 106 & Park and the Hip-Hop Awards Cypher back in the day. All the spitters had flame in this.

Big Cade – “Dipset Sh!t” (Video)
Tuscaloosa stand up! Another champion repping Title Town, Alabama… Deontay Wilder, The Alabama Crimson Tide, Big Cade… Yeah, Cade has been about the barz but now he’s on his “Dipset Sh!t.” So please let him breathe while we celebrate him being great (and while ‘they’ – the ‘others’ – hate)!
Dude hasn’t put much out online in the way of a bio, not even covering back when he was Tee Cade earlier on. But you can follow @bigcade100 to keep up and I’ll see if I can coax some more info out of the homie for the growing fanbase.

Loski – “Fire In The Booth” (Part 2) [Video]
Loski in the building!!!
As Charlie Sloth is screaming and hyping, Loski is staying focused. Looks like the show is in new digs, but the mission is the same… put FIRE in that mic. Pretty good. I want to see/hear more from Loski.

Rhythm Roulette With Sango (Video)
You know how this goes: Sango puts on the blindfold, picks three disks and ‘tries’ to make some musical magic happen. So…okay, he ain’t really ‘trying’ because Sango is a Jedi at this. There is no try… only do!
After selecting three albums at random from Seattle’s Holy Cow Records, the versatile producer enters the lab and crafted two beats just for us. Chopping up the soundtrack to Richard Pryor’s ‘Blue Collar,’ and even creating hi-hats from vocals on Countess Cathleen, Sango makes it look easy.

Ernie Isley & Chuck D Speak On ‘Fight The Power’ (Video)
Wondering if each of the respective generations of listeners of these versions of “Fight The Power” knows about the other… Bet they do. Kind of cool even if they don’t, since NPR put this doc together #YouMustLearn
NPR’s American Anthem series brings together two songwriters — Ernie Isley of The Isley Brothers and Chuck D of Public Enemy — whose respective versions of “Fight the Power” eyed the same struggle… Ridenhour would later take the stage name Chuck D, as the leader of the pioneering rap group Public Enemy. In 1989, he wrote his own “Fight the Power” for the film ‘Do the Right Thing.’ The movie is set on the hottest day of the summer in a Brooklyn neighborhood, where the temperature leads long-simmering racial tensions to boil over in the street.
