Jarv Dee – “Water” (Video)
The Seattle Hip Hop scene is one that is on the rise. Â Jarv Dee reps for his city as a solo artist also a member of The Moor Gang group. Â His new video titled “Water” has gritty visuals to match his rhymes. Â Many images of police brutality and protests. Â This is timely with all that is going on with the police in this country right now. Â So if you think all that people do in Seattle is smoke weed and drink coffee then think again. Â Although Starbucks is from Seattle and Weed is legal there too but you get my point!
Sav Sire – “SOHO” (Video)
So Harlem. So New York. So, Sav Sire lit a track on fire, did a video for it, and submitted it to the Interwebs forever. If this ends up being how your work is viewed for eternity… good damn job! I love finds like this and love sharing them even more. Check the writeup after the jump for more info on this up-and-comer. Respect to JayForce for giving this young brother a platform to display his wares.

Revolutions On Air: The Golden Era of New York Radio 1980 – 1988 (Documentary)
Get someone to share what they knew about New York City radio during the 1980s, and you are sure to hear mix show legends and DJs like Marley Marl and Kool DJ Red Alert. Yep, there’s that and so much more. But what if someone went and culled content from all the stories into one insightful narratives.
Well, Revolutions On Air is the story of Marley and Red, and the likes of Shep Pettibone, Tony Humphries, The Latin Rascals… innovators of the day that pushed emerging Hip-Hop, electro, house music and scenes. Radio listeners all over the city recorded what would become classic mixes via tape decks hooked into personal stereos. That’s the um… downloading… folks used to do back in the day, kids.
Check out Revolutions On Air, narrated by MC Lyte.

Jadakiss – ‘Young, Gifted, & Black’ Freestyle
Jadakiss drops this straight fiyah ‘Young, Gifted, & Black’ freestyle from Big Daddy Kane’s 1989 classic & kills it! This is pure lyricism at this finest! I literally got the goosebumps listening to this joint right here. THIS is hip hop not that other sh*t. I’d even bet the Queen of Soul Aretha Franklin would be impressed.

Tomorrowland (Trailer)
You wanted to see “Tomorrowland”… Well here it comes!
Yep, it’s coming alright (to the silver screen on May 22, 2015). Looks like Disney has taken all its Marvel Universe movie and TV-making powers, combined them with the adept storytelling already possessed (and learned on producing TV like ‘Once Upon A Time’) and crammed it into yet another late spring / early summer blockbuster. Whew! Combine this robot-fighting near-future set fantasy and “Avengers: Age of Ultron” dropping just weeks earlier; and you understand what a beast mode big screen juggernaut Disney is. Not hurting the effort, at all, is major major Hollywood A-list talent (George Clooney) jumping on the scale with all his weight; giving serious effort to what looks to be an epic rock’em sock’em watching experience! Dollar up for the big bucket of popcorn, extra butter, super-duper sodas and whatnot… and the iMax experience… for this one. Then strap in, as Casey (Britt Robertson) and Frank (Clooney) go all in; taking on killer robots as they take you to “Tomorrowland” (trailer above)!
Featuring a screenplay by “Lost†writer and co-creator Damon Lindelof and Brad Bird, from a story by Lindelof & Bird & Jeff Jensen, “Tomorrowland†promises to take audiences on a thrill ride of nonstop adventures through new dimensions that have only been dreamed of.
The film also stars Hugh Laurie as brilliant scientist David Nix, Raffey Cassidy, Tim McGraw, Judy Greer, Kathryn Hahn, Keegan-Michael Key and Thomas Robinson.
All that, too?? Yeah, this looks goooood.
Fashawn – “Higher” (Prod. Exile) [Video]
One of my favorite songs from Fashawn’s new album “The Ecology” gets a brand new video for ‘Higher’ featuring producer Exile. Of course it would only make sense that Fashawn would include his daughter in the video who is the subject of his love, affection, & inspiration for the song. Heart warming & dope.

Jamie Foxx Speaks On Getting Busted Looking at Michelle Obama’s Butt, Sex with Oprah, & Meeting Mike Tyson (Video)
Jamie Foxx’s stories about his life as a celebrity, wild parties, people he’s met, & just life in general are always hilarious. It just never gets old even if he’s told some of those same stories on television & other media outlets, including his own The Foxxhole channel 96 on Sirius XM radio before. Jamie Foxx will be playing Mike Tyson in a new film about the prolific fighter’s life, but I would love to eventually see the story about Jamie Foxx’s life down the road. Check out the hilarious & insightful interview from HOT 97 in New York above.
Homeboy Sandman – “Unforgettable” (Video)
Homeboy Sandman channeling his inner hip hop version of Nat King Cole with his new song ‘Unforgettable’ about a special young lady that’s got him all messed up. BRUH. We can relate. Peep the dope song off of his ‘Subject: Matter’ EP produced by Jonwayne & new visuals directed by Kahleem Poole and April Pabon.

Diamond D – “We Are The People Of The World” feat. Kurupt x Tha Alkaholiks (Video)
I love what Diamond D is doing by releasing a video for almost every song off of his dope ‘The Diam Piece’ album that’s out right now. He dropping all the videos at the right times too which allows the album to continuously breath new life for those that slept. Not us though. We’ve been banging various joints on the radio show with regularity. This time around Diamond D takes it back to the West Coast on the production with Kurupt & Tha Alkaholiks for their collaborative ‘We Are The People Of The World’ track. It has that West Coast snap with excellent visuals directed by Dr. Zodiak. Niiiiiiiice

Roy Jones Jr. Talks About Beef Outside The Ring: His Dad, Fat Joe, And Where Things Stand (Video)
Did you know that when Fat Joe rapped “Even Roy Jones was forced to lean back,” it would start a beef the boxer was ready cook?? Hmmm, wonder if even Joe knew. That happened, and Roy speaks on the confrontation. And what happened between him and the dude that pretty much started him ‘fighting’… his father.
Planet Asia – “Grade A Ism” (Prod. By Dirty Diggs) [Video]
F#ck talking. Show me Gouda!
Planet Asia talks a lot more ish than that in this one; in the grandest tradition of lyrical braggadocio. Show me the money! Haaa! But the overall vibe carried by the visual is laid back. Goes well with the track. Your ears are gonna love it. “Nautica Nagas” (the full project) is out now, too. Got it linked for you below.
Raekwon – “Road To F.I.L.A.” (Episode 1) [Video]
Talk about Fly International Luxurious Art: Derrick’s Jamaican House, Raekwon’s favorite Los Angeles restaurant. Your mouth will water, and it should. After all, “F.I.L.A.” is dropping sooner than soon (pre-order via link to earlier post below). Reflections on fav dishes and the culture all sparked by this spot and life experiences over the years.
Killer Mike – “Ric Flair” (Video)
Probably most readers here fall in one of two categories: (1) those who missed out on this single when it initially dropped or (2) those who wondered why there was never a video for such a dope joint. Well, let’s all unite and enjoy this visual thoroughly (especially is you are/were in any way a ‘rasslin fan). Killer Mike, lyrical heavyweight champ, is on his “Ric Flair” in every way on this track.
“Whether you like it, or don’t like it, LEARN TO LOVE IT!”
