Get someone to share what they knew about New York City radio during the 1980s, and you are sure to hear mix show legends and DJs like Marley Marl and Kool DJ Red Alert. Yep, there’s that and so much more. But what if someone went and culled content from all the stories into one insightful narratives.
Well, Revolutions On Air is the story of Marley and Red, and the likes of Shep Pettibone, Tony Humphries, The Latin Rascals… innovators of the day that pushed emerging Hip-Hop, electro, house music and scenes. Radio listeners all over the city recorded what would become classic mixes via tape decks hooked into personal stereos. That’s the um… downloading… folks used to do back in the day, kids.

You wanted to see “Tomorrowland”… Well here it comes!
Yep, it’s coming alright (to the silver screen on May 22, 2015). Looks like Disney has taken all its Marvel Universe movie and TV-making powers, combined them with the adept storytelling already possessed (and learned on producing TV like ‘Once Upon A Time’) and crammed it into yet another late spring / early summer blockbuster. Whew! Combine this robot-fighting near-future set fantasy and “Avengers: Age of Ultron” dropping just weeks earlier; and you understand what a beast mode big screen juggernaut Disney is. Not hurting the effort, at all, is major major Hollywood A-list talent (George Clooney) jumping on the scale with all his weight; giving serious effort to what looks to be an epic rock’em sock’em watching experience! Dollar up for the big bucket of popcorn, extra butter, super-duper sodas and whatnot… and the iMax experience… for this one. Then strap in, as Casey (Britt Robertson) and Frank (Clooney) go all in; taking on killer robots as they take you to “Tomorrowland” (trailer above)!
Featuring a screenplay by “Lost†writer and co-creator Damon Lindelof and Brad Bird, from a story by Lindelof & Bird & Jeff Jensen, “Tomorrowland†promises to take audiences on a thrill ride of nonstop adventures through new dimensions that have only been dreamed of.
The film also stars Hugh Laurie as brilliant scientist David Nix, Raffey Cassidy, Tim McGraw, Judy Greer, Kathryn Hahn, Keegan-Michael Key and Thomas Robinson.

It just never gets old even if he’s told some of those same stories on television & other media outlets, including his own The Foxxhole channel 96 on Sirius XM radio before. Jamie Foxx will be playing Mike Tyson in a new film about the prolific fighter’s life, but I would love to eventually see the story about Jamie Foxx’s life down the road. Check out the hilarious & insightful interview from HOT 97 in New York above.

I love what Diamond D is doing by releasing a video for almost every song off of his dope ‘The Diam Piece’ album that’s out right now. He dropping all the videos at the right times too which allows the album to continuously breath new life for those that slept. Not us though. We’ve been banging various joints on the radio show with regularity. This time around Diamond D takes it back to the West Coast on the production with Kurupt & Tha Alkaholiks for their collaborative ‘We Are The People Of The World’ track. It has that West Coast snap with excellent visuals directed by Dr. Zodiak. Niiiiiiiice
