Sorta. Well, the inmates there box outsiders; and they fight hard for what’s really on the line – money, shorter sentences, glory, to settle arguments. Watch the VICE mini-documentary on it above. “Rock Konducta” is the latest in Madlib’s instrumental “Beat Konducta†series, the producer’s raw Hip-Hop beat tapes brought to life. This latest album finds it’s inspiration in various worldwide underground rock scenes from the 1960s through the 80s: American psychedelia, Germany’s Krautrock, acid-soaked Spanish prog-rock and synthy, early-80s oddities. Tied together by Madlib’s unique sensibility, these music scenes coalesce into a new whole.

WHAT??? Aw helllll no! But wait, Eddie Huang has not failed yet to teach on his travels. So, let’s watch this three-parter of VICE’s Fresh Off The Boat; starting above. In part one, Eddie takes a shot of real Russian vodka, eats a real “communist dog” and chats up a real Black Russian (so to speak). In part two, Eddie goes deeper into Russian culture: learns what it was like to live under Soviet rule, moving forward to understand the issues that connect all people regardless of where they live. Wrapping with the part three of the Moscow episode, Eddie lives it up on $400 caviar, racing in a Russian street car, massages from babes in bikinis. You know, just Eddie doing Eddie.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (Trailer)

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 hits theaters this summer on May 2nd & although I’m interested in seeing the film I hope it doesn’t drown in too much CGI. I also noticed from this trailer a few hints that possibly one of the villains in the upcoming movie will be “The Rhino” which one of my personal favorite adversaries to Spider-Man. From the glimpses I peeped from the trailer, it appears The Rhino could be a mechanized villain. I hope the creators don’t ruin The Rhino’s appearance in the film although actor Paul Giamatti is an excellent choice of talented actors rumored to be playing the role. Jamie Foxx stars as Spidey’s nemesis Electro in the upcoming film & there’s some sort of secret event about to go down in Times Square on New Years Eve according to the countdown timer on the ElectroArrives.com website. The film directed by Marc Webb & starring Andrew Garfield returning as Spider-Man, finds Peter Parker picking up new clues as to why his parents left, rekindling his love for Gwen played by actress Emma Stone, & the return of his old pal Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan).  Things don’t get any easier when he’s also busy battling former foes & new bad guys.
