Treach & KayGee Speak On The Rumored Breakup & Changes To ‘Naughty By Nature’ (Video)

The Breakfast Club of Power 105 welcome’s Golden Era Hip-Hop trio act Naughty By Nature. Notably absent: Vin Rock! What???? Man. Somehow, I’m hoping they work through this. The Naughty has been through drama before (in fact, Kay Gee mentioned his ‘issues’ with Treach above) and got back on track. Watch the interview and explanation of the bad blood – from [mostly] Treach’s point of view. Wonder how long Kay can stay neutral in all this though.

What a mess. Keep watching with part 2 of the interview after the jump. So Naughty By Nature… the full trio… is booked for a show at The Roots’ Picnic this summer? With the sucker punches and slick talk flying about, we’ll see.

Jon Connor – “Rise Up” feat. Talib Kweli

artworks-000047929704-0tt57q-t500x500Jon Connor’s “Unconscious State” is coming to iTunes…later. On deck now is “Rise Up” (featuring Talib Kweli). ‘This one’s for the heads y’all.’ Lyrics full of social commentary and indicting statements on the state of Hip-Hop (‘went from body rocking to molly popping’… true). Put this one on repeat and tell your friends about it (the ones with thick enough skin to take it).

Raekwon – “All About You” feat. Estelle (Prod. By Jerry Wonda)

artworks-000047731967-qjaerp-t500x500This one would be perfect for commercial radio… Oh wait, I think he got in a muthaf—-r and ‘ninja’ within the first 10 seconds (no radio play for Rae on this one). Hahaa! Chef don’t sell out for radio play. Though with Estelle adding a li’l sexy over the Jerry Wonda track, the Wu-Tang sword style of Raekwon’s delivery on “All About You” is softened just enough to reach a ‘broader’ audience. Nah eff that. This banger still goes hard!

This single is yet another hot rock off the FREE Funkmaster Flex’s “Who You Mad At? Me Or Yourself?” mixtape (which you can get from a link in an earlier post here).

ILL Smith (Kardinal Offishall x DoubleTime) – “Wilin'” (Video)

Off “The Murkle EP,” Kardinal Offishall and DoubleTime (as ILL Smith) give us “Wilin’.”  The video goes deep. You should watch this at least twice. Loaded with subliminals and innuendos. May be hard to catch them all on the first watch. But Kardi-O and DoubleTime really have something to say to you:
‘[H]opefully Mu’ufckers read between the lines and pause the vid to read the propaganda we spreading (and not just pause to look at the ass-although that’s ok too…). Watch closely. Listen closer…’

Rick Ross and Son Bond Courtside at the Miami Heat v. Chicago Bulls Playoff Game 2 (Video)

Ballin’ at the ball game… courtside… BAWSE! Rick Ross and his son take in game 2 of the Miami Heat vs. Chicago Bulls game 2 of the NBA Playoffs. Ultimate gift: Dwyane Wade of the Miami Heat gives Ross’ son the shoes he wore in the game! That makes it a rather historic & special event for a young kid I’m sure he’ll never forget. As the series heads back to Miami tomorrow with the team up 3-1 on the Chicago Bulls it looks like my favorite team the Miami Heat are closer to another historic run for an NBA Championship. Let’s go HEAT! #TEAMHEAT

Dr. Cornel West Sits Down For Conversation With Julian Assange (Audio)

wiki
WikiLeaks is an international, online, non-profit organization which publishes secret information, news leaks, and classified media from anonymous sources. A few years ago, WikiLeaks published the first set of more than 250,000 secret State Department documentsone of the largest leaks of classified information in history. All in the name of transparency – letting the people know what their governments don’t want them to know – which WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange believes is important in keeping societies free.

In the audio below, Assange sits down with Dr. Cornel West at the Ecuadorian embassy in London to speak on the importance of keeping societies and governments open, on propaganda campaigns against him (including those spurred by the U.S. government), on his latest text, “Cypherpunks,” and more. Very interesting listen.

‘Every law, every regulation, every constitution comes about as a result of people communicating… You ask yourself what regulates the law, what regulates mandate, what regulates constitutional change? It is regulated by the people communicating… the only way to hold government to account and modify its behavior and produce an educated body politic… is through free and robust communication. Government must not be in charge of regulating what the people know about government. That would be a self-regulation that is doomed to failure.’
