J. Rawls featuring Sadat X + Wise Intelligent – ‘Face It’ (Video)
“J Rawls unites two legendary hip-hop crews for the first time ever, as Sadat X (Brand Nubian) and Wise Intelligent (Poor Righteous Teachers) drop jewels over Rawls’ production. Taken from J Rawls’ new album “The Hip-Hop Affect,” in stores everywhere on May 17th, 2011. The video was shot in front of Harlem’s iconic “Allah School in Mecca”, where the Five Percent Nation has been headquartered for the past half-century. Also featuring an appearance from Scienz Of Life’s John Robinson.
“The Hip-Hop Affect” is the first solo hip-hop album from J Rawls in 10 years, and also features appearances from Rhymefest, Diamond D, Edo G, Kev Brown, Oh No, Casual, Copywrite, Count Bass D, Tanya Morgan, Stalley, El Da Sensei, J Sands (of Lone Catalysts), John Robinson, Bad Azz, Fat Jon, and more.”

Pac Div – ‘Rollin’ (Video)
This is one of my favorite Pac Div songs from their ‘Don’t Mention It’ free album that dropped last year. This is an in-studio video that they just dropped, but the brothas need to go ahead & shoot a full fledged video for this joint in my opinion. If not I’m still good with this though. The song is one of my favorites to ride too especially on a warm sunny day. Keep Rolllin’ Rollin’ Rollinnnnnnn…. Whoaaa Whoaaaaaa!
Ski Beatz: Back To The Future (Video)
“Even the most casual of Hip Hop listeners should be aware of Ski Beatz as, at the very least, the producer of iconic Hip Hop anthems on Jay-Z’s 1996 debut, Reasonable Doubt, and several albums for Camp Lo, having also gone on to produce for Lil Kim, Foxy Brown, Fat Joe and others.
15 years on and the digitally inclined will have caught last year’s excitable wave of activity leading up to the release of the North Carolina hailing producer, DJ and former emcee’s own album, 24 Hour Karate School, released in September 2010, which saw Ski working with a mouthwatering spread of Hip Hop talent established and new, including Curren$y, Smoke DZA, Jean Grae, Jim Jones, Jay Electronica, Joell Ortiz, The Cool Kids, Stalley, Tabi Bonney, Ras Kass, Camp Lo and Wiz Khalifa.
On a mission to find out more about the man behind the beatz, SoulCulture TV sat down with Ski Beatz at Damon Dash’s creative base of operations in New York, DD172, and asked the producer about his beginnings in Hip Hop — as a rapper first.
Watch below as Ski talks us through his journey from the mic to the boards, from getting jaded by the industry and moving home to North Carolina to more recently returning to New York to work with a new breed of emcees and how his initial passion for rapping gives him the edge when producing for top rappers.” – SoulCulture
Kanye West – Live At Coachella (Mixtape)

Kanye’s performance back in April during the 2011 Coachella festival will go down in history as one of his greatest performances ever. The crowd in Cali was rocking & Kanye gave a marathon performance full of energy as he delivered hit after hit after hit. Â I can only imagine what it was like to actually be there in the crowd. Â For those of us who may have wanted to experience this on our ipods, you can download this new ‘Live At Coachella’ mixtape featuring the actual live recordings from the show. Supposedly a high quality video of the show will soon follow, but in case you can’t wait to see what you’ve missed then you can always check out our previous video post of the actual show HERE. Complete tracklisting for Kanye West’s Live At Coachella mixtape is under the hood…

Louis Jordan – ‘Ain’t Nobody Here But Us Chickens’ (DJ Premier RMX)

I remember driving in the car checking out DJ Premier’s ‘LiveFromHeadquarterz’ Sirius XM radio show & he was clowning with his friends in the studio about the phrase ‘Ain’t Nobody Here But Us Chickens Boss!’ I was laughing my ass off but I had no idea DJ Premier had planned to do a remix of this classic late 1940s joint by jazz musician Louis Jordan. DJ Premier’s remix is a part of an upcoming project called ‘L.A. Noire’ put together by Verve Records & Rockstar Games. Check out artwork after the jump…..

Sugar Shane Mosely’s Girlfriend Was The Star Of The Fight (Video)
I didn’t catch the Pacquiao vs. Mosely fight last night because I was on the radio while it was on, but I saw a flurry of tweets of people talking about Sugar Shane’s girl Bella Gonzalez who was seated ringside. Judging from everyone’s collective opinions, the fight was boring but Sugar Shane’s Girlfriend was clearly the star. The tweets & comments erupted when she gave the cameras a better view of her ‘Seat’

Killer Mike – ‘Bang 3X’ (EP)
Killer Mike dropped this 9 song EP/Mixtape BANG 3X as an appetizer before his third album in the I Pledge Allegiance To The Grind series drops on May 17th. My favorite track on this joint by far is the ‘Blind Justice’ joint produced by DJ Toomp. Personally I’m hoping Killer Mike diversified his sound a little more on the upcoming album because I’ve always felt time & time again that Killer Mike just needs the right beats. I think the joint ‘Ready, Set, Go,’ produced NO I.D. & this banging ‘Blind Justice’ joint produced by DJ Toomp is a start in the right direction. I personally feel if he can adequately round out his sound a little more he could win many more fans beyond the south. Unfortunately I believe the politics involving the hardcore fans that only want those 808s may have something to do with it.
Kil Ripkin – ‘Medicine For Mommy’ (Mixtape)
“Having re-emerged from a brief musical hiatus with the release of his well received soundtrack for the paradigm shift “The Quickening Vol.1” (November 2010); “The Godian” has been fine tuning more lyrical healing for the masses; this time with an emphasis on Wombman. “Medicine for Mommy†is a tribute to the divine feminine aspect of creation. According to RIPKIN, this project is necessary because, “it’s a healing the world needs; the woman must take her rightful place back in alignment with the universeâ€. Consisting of five songs, each specifically attuned; this project fills a void and creates a balance concerning how Wombman has been typically addressed and referenced both musically and universally. Featuring production by Raticus, Eric G, TMT and The Godian. Check out Kil Ripkin’s bandcamp page & website! ” Complete tracklisting under the hood…..
