Bill Maher Compares The NFL To Good Politics Where Everybody Wins (Video)

Super Bowl XLV has come & gone & the Green Bay Packers have come out victorious. Although I was rooting for the Pittsburgh Steelers because I’m a Philly native & obviously I want to support my home state, I’m not mad at the Green Bay Packers winning it at all. Unlike the majority of the NFL, the Green Bay Packers organization is set up in a way where the fans can become shareholders in the team & each having a stake & voice on the outcome in the team’s success or failure. It may surprise many of you to know that the Green Bay Packers are also a non-profit organization. As the game winded down to the final minutes I thought of Bill Maher’s opinion piece from a week ago comparing the NFL’s ‘sharing the wealth’ philosophy to how the United States could be successful again for many underemployed & out of work Americans. Bill Maher drew excellent comparisons of how the country is being run like Major League Baseball & failing its constituents, but if leaders employed the NFL’s method we’d all be better off. Transformers 3: Darkside Of The Moon Movie Trailer

Hoping this movie is 3 times better than Transformers 2 was. First thing the creators should do is remove the ‘gold toothed coonbots’ that appeared in the last film.

Volkswagen Uses ‘The Force’ In Their Super Bowl Commercial (Video)

One of the most memorable of the commercials during the Super Bowl was the ‘Lil Darth Vader’ who kept coming up short. Things weren’t working out for the kid in the beginning because he wasn’t using ‘JayForce’, but the car company didn’t cut the check for us to assist. (Rimshot) Most of the commercials during the Super Bowl weren’t that funny, but this is one of the few that stood out to me.

Imported From Detroit: Eminem’s Chrysler 200 Super Bowl Ad (Video)

Dope advertisement showing love to Detroit & Eminem is leading the way in it. Great job! FTW! This was the second advertisement that Eminem was involved with during the Super Bowl with the first that aired being for Brisk Iced Tea. If you really pay attention to what’s said in that particular ad you’ll see that Eminem is not just going to take any ad for a check unlike some rappers out today, but the word is Brisk paid him allegedly $1 Million dollars that was just to lend his voice for the claymation character. I respect the fact that Em is very choosy in terms of his ad choices. He even uses Brisk’s ad time to let YOU know why he doesn’t do commercials. Smart

Philadelphia Eagles Brent Celek’s Interview With Captain Morgan (Video)

I didn’t see this commercial during the game at all, but this sh*t is hilarious! Philadelphia Eagles Tight End Brent Celek talked with Captain Morgan about his special medical condition! Hahaaa!

Black Eyed Peas Super Bowl XLV Halftime Performance (Video)

At this point in the hip hop game I don’t understand all the hate that the Black Eyed Peas get from rap fans. The BEPs were basically a underground hip hop group that wasn’t getting support after two dope first albums with a heavy true school hip hop sound & influence. They also had some of the best performances in hip hop largely because they employed the b-boy element into their showmanship. Eventually Will.I.Am, Apl.D.Ap, & Taboo added an additional member in Fergie & switched it up & made their sound more universal to a world audience. People often criticize the BEPs, but today on the radio we’re inundated by garbage artists setting black people back 1000s of years with their buffoonery. Although I personally tend to gravitate to more aggressive & often socially conscious hip hop music I’m not mad at the BEP’s for being honest about where they wanted to go with their sound without any boundaries. I spoke to Will.I.Am on a flight from Los Angeles to Atlanta last year & we spoke for about 45 minutes about his group, his career as a solo DJ (which often pays more), & loyalty to his bandmates. Will made it known that they’ve always just wanted to entertain people first & foremost & simply have fun. The key thing I got out of that conversation was Will.I.Am could have been a solo artist or producer but he said he’d be unhappy if he couldn’t perform with his group. He didn’t want to leave them behind. More importantly they wanted to entertain people & not be pigeonholed in any box. I can respect that 100%. If I have a fix for the old BEP sound I’ll just go back & watch some of the old videos or listen to the first two albums I have. I posted a few videos after the jump. Often I’ll hear some hip hop fans say Black Eyed Peas fell off years ago…..I disagree. In the global scheme of things I believe they are continuously ‘falling up!’

WTF Video Of The Day: Handicapped Rapping Pimp?

I’m almost at a loss for words….REALLY?!….has rap music gotten this bad? Damn…cuz it damn sure ain’t hip hop. And some people have the nerve to criticize the Black Eyed Peas.

R&B: Kevin Cossum – ‘Black & Yellow’

It’s SuperBowl Sunday & I’m sure that the majority of people, other than diehard Steelers fans, wouldn’t be interested in hearing ‘Black & Yellow’ or any subsequent remixes after today. Before the game starts I thought I’d let yall peep this R&B remix of singer/songwriter Kevin Cossum’s version & thought I’d share it with yall. It’s pretty good. As a relative unknown to the majority of people in the mainstream, the Miami by way of Philly kid was smart enough to send out a clean version to DJs too. Although it has some profanity in the song it is especially tailored for the ladies who may or may not care about the Super Bowl that’s about to go down. Go Steelers!

DJ Scratch Gives His List Of The ‘Top 5 DJs Of All-Time’ (Video)

Allhiphop.com caught up with DJ Scratch to find out his Top 5 DJs Of All-Time. Supposedly during Black History Month they will be asking notable DJs about their Top 5 DJs Dead Or Alive. What’s glaringly apparent is DJ Scratch’s omission of the legendary DJ Kid Capri. DJ Scratch must have some sort of unsaid beef with Kid Capri because the ‘Black italian’ doesn’t appear on DJ Scratch’s Top 5 or his Top 10. Aye!

Dirty Money: Last Ride From London (Video)

Honestly I think the Diddy-Dirty Money album wasn’t that bad of an album, but the primary thing that was distracting on it was Diddy himself. I didn’t think Puffy’s vocals was necessary on a few of the songs. Yeah they could have needed Diddy’s starpower to get more media interest in the group, but he could have pulled his presence back a little on some songs. Maybe he wanted to find a way to make sure the group succeeded from a publicity standpoint or still wanted to be an artist as well. I don’t know but I think Dirty Money could have succeeded without them being Diddy-Dirty Money if Puff played the back more from a vocalists perspective. In any case I found this interview on the web & thought it was interesting because the focus was on the female members of the group & not just Diddy. Not only did I dig the way it was shot, but I enjoyed the honest & open answers the ladies gave about the time leading up to the project & their relationship with each other.
