Holy sh!t… The p*ssy there was ridiculous… I mean it was just ridiculous… I think I really wanna be in this record business!
Wow. Is N.O.R.E. gassing this dude? More so than the usual way he does during guest introductions… maybe. Definition of ‘C.E.O.’ (debatable, he might say) and Inventor of the ‘Street Team’ (since 1981, not up for debate, don’t come for him): It’s Steve Rifkind.
N.O.R.E. & DJ EFN are The Drink Champs. On today’s episode The Champs chop it up with legendary Record Executive Steve Rifkind. Best known for being the founder and chairman of Loud Records and of SRC Records. Rifkind signed artists such as Wu-Tang Clan, Mobb Deep, Big Pun, Three 6 Mafia and more!
Steve is the inventor of the “Street Team†and in the 90’s / early 2000’s his methods and strategies helped revolutionize the way artists campaigns were marketed and promoted. Steve shares great stories about working with the legendary Quincy Jones and Jimmy Iovine.
As Johnathan Rifkind and Randy Ackerjoin the conversation, Steve Rifkind shares historic stories about legends such as Big Pun, ODB and Prodigy of Mobb Deep. Steve announces that DMX is working on a new album and the 25th Anniversary concert celebrating Loud Records; which was held at the Radio City Music Hall featuring legendary Loud Records artists.

In this episode Floyd opens up on how influential his Father has been to his career and how he evolved from “Pretty Boy†Floyd to “Money†Mayweather.

YES! I should’ve expected N.O.R.E. to go where I was thinking SOMEBODY should go… Like, HOW did Bleek become Jay-Z’s man like he is? I wasn’t mad or hating. I just didn’t know… until today.
N.O.R.E. & DJ EFN are the Drink Champs. On today’s episode The Champs welcome back legendary recording artist Memphis Bleek. Bleek shares lots of great Roc-a-Fella stories, creating Warehouse Music Group and helping develop the D’usse brand.
Bleek shares how he’s looked up to JAY Z since a very young age and how a personal conversation with Hov changed his whole life. Bleek shares stories about creating his classic debut album “Coming Of Age” and gives his opinion on what caused the end of Roc-a-Fella Records.
As the D’usse shots keep pouring N.O.R.E. and Bleek reflect back on receiving “Pimp” awards. The Champs and Bleek also discuss a variety of topics such as working with legendary producers, growing older in Hip-Hop and traveling the world.

Irv takes us on a ride through hip-hop history as he shares stories of working with a young JAY Z, being introduced to the Ruff Ryders, working with Ja Rule and forming the group Murder Inc., a super group composed of Ja Rule, DMX & JAY Z.
As Irv expresses his displeasure, with the disconnection in Hip-Hop between the young and older generation, Irv Gotti and The Champs discuss establishing a Hip-Hop union. And Irv shares the story of how a Hip-Hop union was almost created between J. Prince, Suge Knight and himself.

Very varied viewpoints from and in the Black community are presented and explored here, which is a good thing. Folks (e.g. we and the people who want our votes) need to understand that we are not a monolith, a block, a sector, a checklist item, etc. for the campaign… nor do we necessarily ‘win’ when ‘our candidate’ (whatever that means) wins.
Go get a snack and a beverage, and come back focused. ‘Bout to be some real talk. Necessary talk!
