Wooooo! Big Tone is a PROBLEM! Killed that House Shoes track! Whew! Okay, this video for “Time” is the perfect marriage of beat-making, emceeing, and video production. Check that. This is more than a video. It’s an EXPERIENCE! “Time” is the first single off House Shoes‘ debut album, “Let It Go.” By the way, House Shoes’ team is relentless: Even before releasing this “first” single, the label allowed another heater from “Let It Go” called “Nailsâ€Â (featuring Quelle Chris and Guilty Simpson) to leak. Of course, we posted that here. You’ve got to respect the grind (and the tracklist…two hot singles already)! Respect to Mario “Khalif” Butterfield (excellent video direction), Big Tone (excellent rhyme delivery), and House Shoes (excellent production)! With the Miami Heat going up 3-1 over the OKC Thunder in the 2012 NBA Finals, 50 Cent’s new video for ‘Double Up’ has me excited for my flight down to Miami to attend Game 5 where it’s expected history will be made when Lebron James & the Miami Heat will officially become the 2012 NBA Champions. It’s gonna be a great weekend & I’m looking forward to ‘Double Up’ with a few fly ladies during all the festivities myself. The song appears on 50 Cent’s latest mixtape project “The Lost Tape” that’s out right now…..

Atlanta’s Queen emcee Stahhr drops the first video from her latest project “Mother Nature with a Molotov: Molotov Season” that’s out now! This joint “Crown” produced by Paris France based producer Astronote is a favorite of mine that I’ve been blasting on the radio show on the regular. Check out the new vid which captures Stahhr in her natural element at Atlanta’s Malcolm X festival getting the love & respect she’s earned from fans & friends in the area. The clip was directed by the homies & dope Atlanta based visual artists Goldi Gold & Fluxwonda.

Sonny Cheeba and Geechi Suede are back with another one! In choosing the title, “Fort Apache,” the Bronx emcees are no doubt referencing the infamous 41st Precinct of their burrow (the inspiration for the 1981 film Fort Apache the Bronx). Known for pushing the vanguard of Hip-Hop by infusing throwback vibes in their delivery, Camp Lo once again brings 70’s-to-early-80’s-inspired ghetto flow into the 21st century with unparalleled skill. Check Track 3 for proof of that (zoo-zoo-zoom). In addition, Camp Lo gave producer Ski Beatz “complete creative control” (get it? “Blessed” is a feature single from the 2012 album “A Friendly Game of KT” by Ypsilanti’s (Michigan) own 14KT. The feel of this instrumental track is conveyed beautifully in this video. Director Andy Madeleine and 14KT collaborate to take the viewer on a scrapbook tour of snapshots of 14KT’s life. By the end of the journey, you cannot help but feel that it is a wonderful life. Dateline NBC: Tim Dog Investigated In An Online Dating Scam (Video)

Former member of the legendary Ultramagnetic Mcs’s & solo rap artist Tim Dog was recently the primary subject of a Dateline NBC Investigation in Atlanta for an online dating scam. Tim Dog may have been known largely to hip hop heads for his moderately controversial record “F*ck Compton” back in the day, but today he’s gaining notoriety for being a con artist according to the report. Many of us watched this live when this aired last Friday night & I couldn’t control my laughter numerous time at how this all transpired. The running theme that had me in tears was the phrase “Tim Dog Box Set”. If you’re an astute hip hop head with a keen sense of history you’ll quickly find the comedy in that phrase. The program was 2 hours, but in case you missed it when it aired the the remaining parts are below…..
