Godfrey Speaks On Who’s Benefiting From The Coronavirus Pandemic, Including Companies Getting Presidential Shout-Outs (Video)

Well, when the interview (1) starts with “It’s crazy right now” and (2) Vlad isn’t even in his studio with his interview guest… We now get this version of VladTV in the Coronaviral Era.

In this clip, Godfrey talked about the coronavirus and the precautions he’s taking to avoid getting sick. Godfrey spoke at length about the money that’s being made as a result of this pandemic and even queried whether this entire thing is engineered.
DJ Vlad

And Godfrey is right: It is CRAZY right now… And the Administration’s speeches and assurances have been less than reassuring.

Maxo Kream Speaks On His Coming Up & Becoming A Rapper (Video)

Hey, Maxo’s full name is a mouthful. And he’s laughing with Vlad when joking about how hard it is to pronounce… but then he pronounces it perfectly and starts speaking on how he got the name and how that led to the Maxo handle. Message: Your name MATTERS. Don’t let anyone tell you different.

Okay, I’mma step off the soapbox and let y’all get on with the watching of Part 1 of 6 above (other parts after the jump). This is so you get familiar with Maxo before I share this new schooler’s music with you. I’m really trying to find the new ones that are doing it real, their way.

I’m old school. But I know that refusing to understand means refusing to grow. And everything that lives is either growing or dying… And I’m not dead yet!

One of H-Town’s realest. Not no ‘Soundcloud rapper’… Watch him tell his story to Vlad.

Danny Trejo Speaks On Mistakes Made In “American Me” & Saving Edward James Olmos’ Life (Video)

You’re not dealing with theatrical motherf**kers!

Wow. The weight of what Danny Trejo says, in general but specifically about the ill events surrounding the making/release of “American Me”… Just wow. You could ask a lot of folks if a movie was ‘real’ but you really ought to lean in and listen when Trejo answers that here.

Danny Trejo spoke to VladTV about the controversy caused by American Me and the Mexican Mafia being disrespected by the film. Trejo explained that he saved director Edward James Olmos’ life after he claims that a price was put on his head over the movie, adding that Olmos wouldn’t speak with him over the controversy. To hear more, including speaking with the Mexican Mafia heads over the incident, hit the above clip.

Tray Deee Remembers Nipsey Hussle As Charitable & Courageous For Staying In His Hood And Doing Business (Video)

I saw a commenter on this YouTube clip state: “I hate speaking on Nipsey in past tense.” So do I, Curry Shot You. So do I.

Tray Deee spoke to VladTV about no other rapper giving back to their community like Nipsey Hussle. He explained that while Nipsey was small in stature, he had heart and stood for what he represented. Tray Deee added that Nipsey had a passion for his businesses and was able to take his love for his Crenshaw neighborhood and turn it into a brand.

DL Hughley Will Not Apologize For His Statements Regarding Terry Crews’ Abuse (Video)

[I] will not defer my vantage point, my viewpoint, to anybody… I believe what I believe. I’ll say what I say… It ain’t the first time a big dude wanted to beat the sh!t out of me ’cause I said something…

Okay then.

DL Hughley is on with Vlad again. But this time, Vlad brought the camera over to DL’s show set for the interview. Thoughtful rebuttal, especially given the time DL has had to mull things over. His stated views have not shifted, whether that wins him any new or returning fans; or Terry Crews favor.

In this clip, DL Hughley speaks on his previous VladTV interview going viral due to his statements on Terry Crews, were he laughed and made humor out of the actor getting fondled by his Hollywood agent. He says that he stands by his previous viewpoints and the right to his own opinion, while reaffirming that he would never let somebody violate him in the way Crews was allegedly abused. From there, he speaks to how he views the #MeToo movement as somewhat disingenuous, questioning why they care so much when a Black man gets fondled but not at all when he gets shot. With that said, Hughley makes it clear that he apologizes to nobody, though he’s open to more conversation even if he doesn’t have to agree.

Large Professor Compares Nas vs. Jay-Z Diss Tracks From Back In The Day (Video)

Nas was on his MONSTER back in the day! “Destroy And Rebuild” though… and you just thought “Ether” was mean… that’s just the version you heard! It could have been MUCH, MUCH worse.

In this clip, Large Professor reveals that the original instrumental for “Ether” was produced by Swizz Beatz, and that Nas ultimately censored the record before he decided to release it. From there, he recalls that some of the lyrics he took out had to do with Aaliyah’s plane crash, aimed at both JAY-Z and Dame Dash. Elsewhere, he also mentions that although he holds both records in high regard, he prefers JAY-Z’s “Takeover” on a musical level. With that said, he said he didn’t like “Super Ugly” at all, calling the record trash for its overwhelming disrespect towards Nas’ family.

TK Kirkland Speaks On Tensions Between Terry Crews & DL Hughley (Video)

Wow. The mentor and O.G. puts it down! Admittedly, I fell for Vlad’s clickbait title tactic in starting to watch this, but TK spoke some realness here.

In this clip, TK Kirkland speaks on the recent debate between his friends Terry Crews and DL Hughley, of which he believes that they both should be entitled to their own opinions. For that reason, he wishes they would just agree to disagree, while pointing out the irony that Crews threatened to slap Hughley yet not the man who abused him. Later on, he also questions why Crews felt the need to wear high boots and a purse to the Grammy awards, while both Kirkland and Vlad wonder if the actor’s crusade against “toxic masculinity’ is for a different reason altogether.

Michael Jai White Speaks On Being Addicted To The Streets And Having Violent Thoughts (Video)

Wow. Never really thought of Michael Jai White coming from the streets like that. Sure he has an edge that comes through in his acting, but according to what he is telling Vlad it is coming from a real gangsta-influenced background. He just went the other way in his life.

In this clip, Michael Jai White detailed his tough upbringing and the time he spent in the streets. Michael said that he loved fighting growing up and was addicted to the street life. He revealed that he’d been in 12 shootouts over the course of his life and explained how he ended up taking guns from adversaries after beating them up.
– DJ Vlad

And dude loved to fight. So much so he would rather be in a gang fight than hook up with the finest Honey in town! His words. Watch the clip.

Killer Mike Speaks On How Buying Black Benefits Society As A Whole (Video)

Mike calls Vlad a friend and vice versa. Wonder if he considers Vlad an ‘ally’ like his RTJ homie El-P. Gotta watch “Trigger Warning” to really get the fullness of the difference, but an ‘ally’ is down for the cause; way past friendship.

Killer Mike spoke to VladTV about working for ten years to get his new show “Trigger Warning” picked up before Netflix came along. He explained that FX was originally interested and allowed them to use the footage that they filmed for a demo roll to shop to other networks. During the conversation, Killer Mike spoke about the first episode, where he lived within a Black-owned economy for 60 hours, which he offered as a challenge to viewers. To hear more, including Killer Mike’s thoughts on why it should be easier to live in a Black economy.

Comedian Godfrey Speaks On Terry Crews’ Social Media Battles & Black Women Constantly Being Disrespected (Video)

Reiterating the point DL made, Vlad hipped Godfrey to how Terry’s threat [to slap D.L. over year-old commentary on his being harassed & inappropriately touched by another male] might be a move to deflect some of the heat he has been getting for defending Gina Rodriguez’s character in light of comments she made that offended many Black women.

Terry Crews offering to slap DL Hughley, Godfrey stopped by VladTV again, and this time around he shared his thoughts on Terry Crews addressing “toxic masculinity,” where he called out D.L. Hughley for telling DJ Vlad that God gave him muscles for a reason when he was assaulted. Godfrey admitted that Terry seemed a little hypocritical for saying he should slap D.L. amid the argument. During the conversation, Godfrey also reacted to Terry defending actress Gina Rodriguez when she was accused of making statements to belittle Black women, which he later apologized for.
DJ Vlad

‘Offering to slap D.L.…’ Kind of hilarious worded that way. Excuse me, but might you like to have the sh!t slapped out of you, Mr. Hughley? Haha!

Controversial Sports Commentator Jemele Hill Always Had A Strong Sense Of Who She Was, Before And After Her Time At ESPN (Video)

Above: Jemele Hill speaks on what it felt like leaving ESPN after more than a decade. There really wasn’t a mourning period. More than just the controversial Tweets and stands she took. By the time President Trump came ‘sniffing & riffing’… It had been time.

In this clip, Jemele Hill speaks on having three years left on her contract and being bought out via an offer. Hill noted that things weren’t already going right on ‘Sportscenter’ by the time the issues with Donald Trump happened, so she didn’t have plans on coming back to the show.

In this VladTV exclusive, Ryan Davis and Vlad discuss Iggy Azalea and his comments about her after she got offered money to be in a porno for BangBros, and her response to that.

He called Iggy’s backlash to people asking her to do porn “Idiotic.”

Sports Commentator Jemele Hill Speaks On Her Challenging Upbringing & Being An Advocate For Rape Survivors (Video)

Okay, Jemele Hill has a firm, fixed position on my ‘can get it’ list. No question. No fight over that wanted or needed. Wokeness and sexiness all in one thick mocha shake. Whew!

Now that ‘Three One Three’ short she is rocking… y’all might have to fight my homie BIGCRAZ313 over that.

Okay, but for real. What an insightful clip! I will definitely be on the lookout for other clips from this sit-down with Jemele to share.

DL Hughley on Kevin Hart Quitting The Oscars: F**k ‘Em If They Can’t Take A Joke (Video)

Interesting angle, or at least an interesting way to say it… D.L. defends the right to say something dumb… especially when it is ‘part of the business’ (saying he would never apologize for ‘telling a joke’).

In this clip, D.L. Hughley gave his take on the Kevin Hart x Oscars situation. Hughley said he would’ve never apologized like Hart eventually did. D.L. also gave his take on the LGBTQ community stating that they are becoming bullies. He said that no one should be immune to jokes being made about them. Hughley went on to break down how humor is central to humanity.
DJ Vlad

Now, D.L. and Vlad do agree with what I always say. You are free to say WHATEVER you want, but you do have to face the repercussions that come of it.

How do you live a life of fulfillment… of passion? That, ladies and gentlemen, is THE question. Understanding that is the keystone of your time here, or it should be.

Bill Duke spoke to VladTV about choosing happiness overstability with his acting career, as he explained that he watched too many people in his family work in jobs they hated and die soon after retiring. He went on to speak about teaching kids in his foundation about the entertainment business and encouraging them to use the internet to put their talents out and not wait to be discovered. Bill also spoke about his upcoming and current projects, including Black Lightning on the CW, Mandy starring Nicolas Cage, and High Flying Bird, which director Steven Soderbergh filmed entirely on an iPhone 8.
– Vlad TV

Here, Bill says, “Go for it.” But you have to have a plan, be prepared to work hard, embrace the ‘suck’ and don’t wait to be ‘discovered’… discover YOURSELF! Feel that. Overstand that!

Bill Duke’s Great Grandparents were slaves, his parents escaped from the racist, oppressive, and DANGEROUS South to the North… with their lives. In this clip, Bill Duke spoke about growing up in Poughkeepsie, NY, during the 1940s and 1950s. His parents moved North to escape the oppression of the Jim Crow South equipped with just a 2nd- and 3rd-grade education, respectively.
