Activism: Per Dr. King’s Request, Where Is Our ‘Check,’ America? (Video)

Shout to the homie Mack Friday for resharing this, keeping it going. I would post this ANY DAY OF THE YEAR. It just happens to be Black History Month. So yeah, let’s say that’s the reason. Feel free to share this with anyone who just cannot understand why Black people are still ‘crying foul’ over slavery that happened so long ago.

America was built off the back of slaves. This wealth created did not disappear after the “Great Emancipation” neither was it shared with the new Black citizens of America. It remained with colonizers and their decedents creating a wealth disparity that we still see TODAY.
– The Great Griot

No late pass needed. This clip will be on point forever… because TRUTH! Watch, discuss, and share. Stay woke, and wake up everyone around you. Make sure everyone watches this to the end. Let MLK Jr.’s words on reparations be heard #ComingToGetOurCheck

Bill Duke Used To Hate White People (Video)

Bill Duke’s Great Grandparents were slaves, his parents escaped from the racist, oppressive, and DANGEROUS South to the North… with their lives. Bill was subjected to extreme racism himself as a child. Is it a wonder that Bill feels how he feels? Imagine how you feel watching a movie with some racism in it. That part… times 1000!

In this clip, Bill Duke spoke about growing up in Poughkeepsie, NY, during the 1940s and 1950s. His parents moved North to escape the oppression of the Jim Crow South equipped with just a 2nd- and 3rd-grade education, respectively. Bill Duke opened up about some his early experiences dealing with racism and how some Whites defied the racist logic of the time as well. He recalled what it was like being a pre-teen when the Emmitt Till story made national headlines.
– Vlad TV

But beyond the agony of his youth, there was wisdom, imparted to Bill, and he shares some with us in the clip above. Watch.

Mississippi Elected A Racist Governor & Slavery Was Recently Abolished (Video)

See this? You might say it looks ridiculous? But you know what is ridiculous, but true? The last state did not legally abolish slavery until 1995. Surprised? That last state was Mississippi (still surprised). Hold your jokes. It was 20 years ago…

A segment from Michael Moore’s TV Nation (1994) that focuses on Mississippi finally getting around to ratifying the 13th amendment to the US constitution – 130 years later. Correspondent Rusty Cundieff races down to Mississippi to try to buy some slaves before the law goes into effect.
– KoalaFrog

But wait, wanna guess which state is having a runoff, now, in 2018 for a Senate seat between a Black Democrat and a White Republican… who PUBLICLY said she would attend a hanging… while she was campaigning???? Yeah, same state, M-I-crooked letter-W-T-F’n Mississippi!!

Miguel – “Now” (Video)

It’s high time we talk about it: Is THIS the look of freedom? NO!

This is NOT ‘detention’ it is IMPRISONMENT; modern day slave-camping. Immigrants to inmates. And you-know-who wants to ‘build’ a wall?? Seems like the ‘walls’ that are already in place do way too much.

And Miguel is using his platform to shine light on this shame “Now.”

Anyone finding a way to hate on Miguel… wow. That’d be amazing and saddening at the same damn time. Dude do nothing but dopeness. This is a different look, but right in line with his vibe as an artist, ya know. Check this latest out “Now.” “War & Leisure” is out now.

Haitians, Dominican Sugar, And A Story That Is Far From Sweet… All Captured In The “Price Of Sugar” (Documentary)

Look around and you will see cane that has been fertilized by the blood of Haitian men.
Father Christopher Hartley

Damn! Backbreaking labor for ‘vouchers’ for use at the ‘company store’… workers on a plantation… not being allowed to leave (plus not having the resources or wherewithall to go anywhere if they could)… people being shipped in for field work under sub-human conditions for what amounts to no [net] pay. THIS IS SLAVERY! In the 21st Century this is SLAVERY! While the plantation owners, Europeans and richer people enjoy themselves but a few miles away…

You must watch this “Price Of Sugar” story. The price is too high (looking at you, America, a leading consumer of Vicini familty plantation sugar)! Prepare to be enraged and saddened. But the world needs to know. Respect to Shadow And Act for spotlighting this doc and giving us some Cliff’s Notes on it.

Boy 23: The Forgotten Boys Of Brazil (Trailer)

Damn. Too bad Magneto could not stop off in Brazil on his way to Argentina to deal with the Nazi bastards who did this, too. But this isn’t X-Men: First Class, this was real life. This was shameful. Powerful movie trailer about “The Forgotten Boys of Brazil” above; where the Nazis pushed their supremacist agenda and made slaves of Black people outside of Germany.

Boy 23: The Forgotten Boys of Brazil (Menino 23: Infâncias Perdidas no Brasil )(2016, 80 min), by Belisario Franca – Bricks, with the Nazi swastika, found in rural Brazil reveal the horrible true story of orphaned children who were enslaved in Brazil during the 1930’s – victims of a criminal project of eugenics. (In Portuguese with English subtitles).

History: A Celebration Of Confederate Pride… In Brazil? (Video)

Sure, okay. The South lost the Civil War (oops, War Of Northern Aggression…whatev). BUT, did you know that by the end of the divisive North American war, there was still legal and thriving slavery farther south; as in South America. Specifically, in Brazil; where then Alabama Senator William Norris led a migration of over 10,000 Confederate loyalists to settle. The town was called Americana, of all things; truly an idyllic place for those slave-seeking settlers who came looking to pick up where they left off not-so-long-ago in The States…to live where things were still the way they should be for the most part.

How do we know? VICE is telling us so (above). Amazing [is one word for it]! Talk about a Deeper South version of Ol’ Dixie. Wow. Check it out. It’s the third story in this episode of Daily VICE.

Today on Daily VICE we head out on the road with legendary punk band Dillinger Four, give advice on how to make your booze taste better, search for buried treasure with deep-sea robots, and uncover the enduring Confederate pride of one Brazilian town.

Ricky Velez Confronts Racism… In The Ring! (Video)

Wow! It’s been forever and a day since we’ve seen WWF’s WWE’s Virgil, muscle and manservant to The Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase. Whoa wait-a-minute. Manservant? Isn’t that pretty much another term for slave? To get the answer, The Nightly Show correspondent Ricky Velez goes to the former WWE wrestler and former ECW wrestler Tommy Dreamer for some real answers…and some real training…enough to fake it and make it in an actual match…and dares to expose the truth about racism in professional wrestling. Oh, and the answer to that ‘manservant’ question? That’d be a ‘YES.’

“Wrestling is racist as f#ck, Larry.”
Ricky Velez

Let’s start there.

And watch the two-part story, starting with part 1 above, for the whole story, exciting ‘finish’ (part 2 and bonus clip, after the jump) and discussion with host Larry Wilmore.

Teachers Give Students ‘Slavery’ Math Problems For Homework (Video)

Parents are outraged as Metro Atlanta’s Gwinnett County third graders were being assigned homework with math problems that included questions such as: “Each tree has 56 oranges. If eight slaves pick them equally, then how much would each slave pick?” and “If Frederick got two beatings each day, how many beatings did he get in one week?”. The questions created by teachers of Beaver Ridge Elementary, was said to be intended to cross curriculum social studies with math…….Really, what part of the game is that?????
