The Intern (Trailer)

Academy Award winners Robert De Niro and Anne Hathaway share the lead in Warner Bros. Pictures’ answer to the ‘Does Hollywood still make good date movies?’ question: “The Intern.” De Niro stars as Ben Whittaker, a 70-year-old widower who has discovered that retirement isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. Seizing an opportunity to get back in the game, he becomes a senior intern at an online fashion site, founded and run by Jules Ostin (Hathaway). Looks like it’ll be light enough on the everyone-has-something-to-teach-and-learn fare with a good dose of comedy to wash it down. Check out the trailer.

Amy (Trailer)

Trailer for the new Amy Winehouse documentary, “Amy.” Critics loved it at Cannes Film Festival. We loved us some Amy (apparent by the posts on here). The doc goes into the lyrics, more than suggesting linkages between the movie and the singer’s tumultuous life in its slant… so much depth. Amy. Lost to the world at 27, but sure to be remembered by the world long, long after. Check this trailer out. In theaters July 3, 2015.

Okay, somebody on here remembers the Griswalds’ hilarity back in the day in theaters. Clark (Chevy Chase) and the family… stupid good fun. Well, we have a new generation fam. Tomorrowland (Trailer)

You wanted to see “Tomorrowland”… Well here it comes!

Yep, it’s coming alright (to the silver screen on May 22, 2015). Looks like Disney has taken all its Marvel Universe movie and TV-making powers, combined them with the adept storytelling already possessed (and learned on producing TV like ‘Once Upon A Time’) and crammed it into yet another late spring / early summer blockbuster. Whew! Combine this robot-fighting near-future set fantasy and “Avengers: Age of Ultron” dropping just weeks earlier; and you understand what a beast mode big screen juggernaut Disney is. Not hurting the effort, at all, is major major Hollywood A-list talent (George Clooney) jumping on the scale with all his weight; giving serious effort to what looks to be an epic rock’em sock’em watching experience! Dollar up for the big bucket of popcorn, extra butter, super-duper sodas and whatnot… and the iMax experience… for this one. Then strap in, as Casey (Britt Robertson) and Frank (Clooney) go all in; taking on killer robots as they take you to “Tomorrowland” (trailer above)!

Featuring a screenplay by “Lost” writer and co-creator Damon Lindelof and Brad Bird, from a story by Lindelof & Bird & Jeff Jensen, “Tomorrowland” promises to take audiences on a thrill ride of nonstop adventures through new dimensions that have only been dreamed of.

The film also stars Hugh Laurie as brilliant scientist David Nix, Raffey Cassidy, Tim McGraw, Judy Greer, Kathryn Hahn, Keegan-Michael Key and Thomas Robinson.

All that, too?? Yeah, this looks goooood.

In My Father’s House (Trailer)

Chicago’s Che Smith, widely known as Grammy-winning artist and songwriter Rhymefest, spent the majority of his childhood without his father. “In My Father’s House” documents Rhymefest’s search for his father. He found him, but as the trailer above more than hints, what happens from that point is no fairy tale. A boy who suffered through youth knowing that a father he never really knew simply walked out on his mother and him, finds that upon walking back into his father’s life, he may have to be the more ‘parental’ of the two. Looks to be a stirring film; currently playing at Tribeca Film Festival.

Batman v. Superman: The Dawn Of Justice (Teaser Trailer)

It appears from the title alone that this upcoming Batman Vs. Superman: Dawn Of Justice film is just the beginning of DC Comics attempts to bring the ‘Justice League’ all together on the big screen. The title alone gives you the hint because “Dawn Of Justice”…. suggests…. “Dawn Of The Justice League’ with Aquaman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Green Lantern, & more heroes.  Right now DC Comics is celebrating their 75th anniversary & all these films are kicking off at the right time for them.  The ‘Justice League’ movie is rumored to come in 2017.  Maybe I’m just getting ahead of myself, but I don’t believe I’m too far off with that opinion. In the meantime, just sit patiently until April 20, 2016 for when this new blockbuster ‘Batman Vs. Superman: The Dawn Of Justice’ film hits theaters.

Freetown (Trailer)

Damn. As we were getting into the Golden Era in The States, these missionaries were just trying to live in the midst of a civil war. You ever hear the one about the mad gunman that burst into a church service threatening to kill all the Christians? All but a few ran out of the worship hall. Then the gunman sat down and told the reverend that he could continue preaching… to the true believers that remained. If that was ever true, these folks would be the ones still sitting there.

A group of native Liberian missionaries make a desperate cross-country trip through their war torn country to save one of their own.

Powerful imagery driven by storyline, dialog and acting more so than special effects and tech. “Freetown” is very much worth a look! Check out the trailer above.

Adina Howard Documentary (Trailer)

Wowwww. Yeah, the young’ns have their twerking now… but they get nowhere near as hot as Adina Howard got ’em when she was really doing it. EVERYTHING was hotter in the Golden Era. Even the sexy songs. Now, we have a documentary to take us all there and back.

“Adina Howard 20: A Story of Sexual Liberation” shares Adina’s story through her own words as well as the impact that she made during the 1990s and thereafter through the thoughts of fellow entertainers, educators, feminists, family and fans.

The film gives an intellectual look into the inside of the highs and lows of the life a platinum selling artist, whose work has made a lasting impact despite the polarizing feelings towards her.

Adina speaks on her relationship with Tupac Shakur, the banning of her music video from BET, landing a cameo role in the movie “Waiting to Exhale,” her encounter with legendary vocalist Nancy Wilson, working with Hollywood giants Jackie Chan and Jamie Foxx and the sudden halt to her stardom due to her comments about record exec Sylvia Rhone.

Watch the extended trailer above. Looks very interesting.
