A legend is in the building. Today, we welcome CL Smooth to Sway in the Morning, and he brought knowledge, good vibes and spiritual growth with him to our Shade 45 studio.
CL has been in the game for over 25 years, and is internationally adored for his work with Pete Rock in the 90’s and his solo albums, “American Me” in 2006 and “The Outsider” in 2007.

The I-95 freestyles are golden with me. I click to watch and start my write-up before the raps even get started, because I already know the BARZ are gonna be there and be top shelf. Truly, everybody can’t make the cut to reach rarefied air in Connecticut.
Bars On I-95, Connecticut’s number 1 Rap platform for your favorite Hip-Hop artists. We love when veterans come on our platform and show the new guys how to get it done over a beat. What we love the most is scouting and discovering new rappers and we are always honored to be able to display their talent to the Hip-Hop community so the industry gets familiar with them. “When are you going to have a Spanish rapper up there?†One of the dope things about Hip-Hop is it’s versatility, it touches all cultures. I mean, I am more of a producer… a behind-the-scenes kind of guy more than on-camera talent. However, I get tempted to get interviewed every time I watch Odell do one of his guest intros. The props he gives are tops!
A lot of times the main person that can hold you back from Greatness is yourself. When I recently had Dzydex on the show he spoke about how he has grown as a music producer. He is well traveled living in places all over the world as a military brat. His production has caught the eyes and attention of people like Joe Kay of Soulection to being used for Adiddas ads in London.
