Lebron James: Journey To The Ring (Video)

Lebron James, the greatest basketball player in the NBA today, has probably had the best ever year of his life. King James has won his third NBA league MVP Award, lead his Miami Heat squad to an NBA Championship in which he was also the NBA Finals MVP, & lead the U.S. Men’s Olympic basketball team to Olympic Gold among many other accolades. In fact, Michael Jordan is the only other player to win an N.B.A. championship, N.B.A. most valuable player honors and Olympic gold in the same year. It’s been an outstanding year for a man who I believe is on pace to be the greatest ever to play the game of basketball. Although Lebron James & the Miami Heat are the heavy favorites to win another NBA championship next season, only time will tell as there is still plenty of work to do for the 27-year-old superstar but this “highlight documentary” follows the kid from Akron Ohio’s entire journey to his first ever NBA championship ring. I’m proud to say that I was there. Here’s to more championship rings for the King. Greatness!

T.I. Speaks On Mike Vick On ESPN’s ‘First Take’ (Video)

T.I. hits the nail on the head in speaking on Mike Vick: No athlete brought such energy to Atlanta’s sports scene since Dominique Wilkins. The city hasn’t been the same since he left. Mike Vick is a high-risk-high-reward player… excitement personified… and T.I. (and the rest of us) have come to accept that about his play. Throughout the segment, Stephen A. and Skip of ESPN’s ‘First Take’ advised that Vick ‘settle down’ and not take so many risks. But T.I. stuck to his guns; advocating that Vick play Vick’s game. This is dope commentary from T.I. But Stephen A. made a good point in this segment: This will be the second $100 Million contract for Mike Vick… with no Super Bowl appearance to show for it. The jig is up! Time to produce.

Comedy: Michael Blackson Goes In On Team USA To Revenge Nigeria (Video)

North Philly (by way of Africa) comedian Michael Blackson goes in on Lebron James, Kobe Bryant, Kevin Durant, & other members of Olympic team USA for their record breaking win to embarrass Nigeria 156-73 during the Olympics last week. HBO’s Hardknocks: Miami Dolphins Episode One (Video)

With the recent arrest of Chad ~~Ochocinco~~ Johnson for allegedly headbutting his wife Evelyn Lozada following an argument over a receipt for a box of condoms, I couldn’t help but think of the first episode of HBO’s Hardknocks series covering the Miami Dolphins this season. Chad Ochocinco was picked up by the Miami Dolphins after having an off year with the New England Patriots last season.Â With his month long marriage to his wife & joining the Dolphins in his hometown of Miami, it felt like it would be a positive new start for Chad to get back to being the premier wide receiver he once was in the NFL. Chad has been in the league for years now, but he’s rarely ever had any off-the-field troubles that put him in negative light until now. Ironically he predicted he would be arrested in this episode of HBO’s Hardknocks around the 40:25 mark.

Fiddy may be looking to take The Money Team into a new arena…a boxing arena. Seen often with his likely boxing promotion partner – flamboyant Floyd Mayweather, Jr., – 50 Cent apparently looks to go platinum as a promoter of pugilism (say that five times fast). Word has it that TMT (short for The Money Team) Promotions expects to sign former featherweight title holder Yuriorkis Gamboa and super middleweight contender Andre Dirrell. None of this is official, but Nevada state athletic commissioner Keith Kizer says TMT is applying for a license in the state. – Chris Mannix, si.com
