Brooklyn Nets Claim To Have The Most High-Tech Arena In Pro Sports (Video)

Take a look around Brooklyn’s new super high-tech stadium, The Barclays Center. “The most high-tech stadium in sports” – that’s the pitch line for the new home of the Brooklyn Nets. The Verge posted a writeup with some tantalizing tech particulars:

‘…free Wi-Fi that’s designed to support a packed house full of smartphone-wielding fans, LTE and 3G service from the four major carriers and sponsor MetroPCS, and an app that lets fans order and pay for food from their seats without having to stand in concession lines. There’s also 8,000 square feet of LED signage, including a three-story tall 1080p center-hung scoreboard and the highlight feature of the entire stadium: the Oculus, a 360-degree LED marquee that encircles the outer pavilion.’

The arena has a ‘hyper-local’ setting, too, according to The Verge. All the restaurants inside the arena are Brooklyn businesses – including Fatty ‘Cue barbeque, Nathan’s Famous Hot Dogs, and Brooklyn Cupcakes. There is even an outpost of the 40/40 Club. By the way, the Club’s owner (and celebrity face man for the Nets franchise), Jay-Z will kick off inaugural ceremonies this weekend at The Barclays Center headlining in a series of sold-out shows (other shows will feature Barbra Streisand, Justin Bieber, and The Who). The tech… the shows…Well.. Do it big then!

Pharoahe Monch – “DAMAGE” (Prod. by Lee Stone)

First off, loving that cover art! Okay. Pharoahe Monch’s “PTSD” (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) project is due out late Fall 2012, and W.A.R. Media / Duck Down Music Inc. has leaked the lead single (and the third and final installment to Monch’s bullet trilogy) entitled “Damage.” Charged with deep social and political commentary on inner city killings and mass murder, “Damage” reminds listeners that bullets have no name. You can stream the clean version below, as well as follow the link to listen to (and buy) the explicit version.

LovePalz: New Smart Phone Sex Device Goes Virtually Hi-Tech (Video)

Yes! Yes! YES! Get your phone jone on folks! Haha! I might be wrong for tagging this ‘comedy’ because… mark my words… SOMEBODY will be hoping to use this ‘technology’… A.S.A.P.! The video presents the LovePalz concept – a smartphone operated virtual sex device which allows you to have sex with a partner over the phone. Shout out to Broccoli City for the perfect set of ‘instructions’ to accompany this video:

‘To use the Palz a man puts his thing in a thing and a woman puts a thing in her thing and the technology mimics the same speed, or not, because who’s counting.’

Hey… if you think you can take it… watch the video. Had me cracking up!

Comedy: Samuel L. Jackson Says “Wake The F*@k Up” & Vote For President Barack Obama (Video)

Hahaaaa! This is Samuel L. Jackson being SAMUEL L. JACKSON. “Wake the F**k Up” is a new political ad from the Jewish Council for Education & Research, a liberal PAC (Political Action Committee). Hilarious! But it makes the point! The ad was written by Adam Mansbach, the same author behind the satirical children’s book “Go the F**k to Sleep,” for which Jackson did a similarly styled audiobook recording (see the explicit version of the “children’s story” after the jump).

Soulful producer Freddie Joachim just dropped another gem via his twitter page & this one is a pretty dope remix of “Get Dis Money” by one of my favorite hip hop groups to have ever come of our Detroit…none other than Slum Village. This joint is so dope I’m positive even J Dilla would approve. You can cop the free download below…

Snoop Dogg Talks Sports with ESPN (Video)

ESPN posted some coolness on their visit with Snoop Dogg (they still call him Snoop Dogg… he said it’s Snoop LION now maaannnn) the other day. (Jayforce note: I still can’t get used to “Snoop Lion” so I’ll just shorten it to “Snoop” then.) Snoop knows a little something about sports – talking the talk about basketball (e.g. about the Los Angeles Lakers) and football. He even kicked the soccer ball around a bit. Good stuff! Start with the video above, then continue with the clips posted after the jump.

Gods’Illa – “Crazy / Dynamics” (Video)

One of my favorite groups coming out the the D.M.V. area, Gods’Illa deliver a brand new double video for the Joe D remix to “Crazy”. If y’all have been following JAYFORCE.COM & THE BEATZ & LYRICS SHOW regularly then you know we’ve been banging out the original version produced by L.A. via Detroit producer Houseshoes, appeared on the Unique Squared SXSW mixtape our homie Amond Jackson orchestrated. Pure dopeness. Pay attention to the video as they flip into “Dynamics” of it all midway through. I believe in Gods’illa….

Jean Grae – “Kill Screen” (Video)

Jean Grae filmed, directed, and edited this video (at the same damn time… hahaaa)! Pretty dark. With the single sampling the video game “Donkey Kong,” one might figure the video would have a more “playful” touch. But it’s NOT a game to Grae. Jean Greasy doesn’t roll like that; especially when the single is entitled “Kill Screen.” It’s good though. Click and watch above. Hmmm… you see any ‘hidden messages’ in this??

Jaden [Smith] – “The Coolest” (Video)

Will Smith’s son Jaden actually sounds good on this joint. Definitely inherited dad’s skills and swagger mannerisms. Jaden said he’s “the leader of the leaders on the leader board.” What! About to be a problem… with a gang of teen and tween fans currently screaming for Diggy and Drizzy. Don’t know if someone wrote his rhymes for him, but it does sound like a good start as he’s rapping better than some adults in the mainstream. Check out the video for “The Coolest” by Jaden.

Colin Munroe – “Fight Of My Life” feat. Pusha T (Video)

Now THIS is what I’m talking about! Colin Munroe is ridiculously underrated as an artist; and the video for the “Fight of My Life” joint (featuring Pusha T) is more proof positive that he belongs in music’s upper echelon. We put it after the jump because there’s an almost bare chested woman in the video (nipples covered though) so it may not be safe for work depending where you are.

Now, don’t worry about the industry being slow on Colin’s dopeness. We got you. We always got you. Enjoy the video above first. Then, if necessary, you can ramp up your Colin Munroe knowledge by visiting an earlier posts we did in which we shared links to his latest mixtape “Unsung Hero,” the audio track for “Fight of My Life,” a video profile, and more… right here. You’re welcome!

Chinese Hospitals Introduce New ‘Sperm Extraction’ Machines (Video)

Hahahaaaaaa! GET THE F*** OUTTA HERE! See, I tried to read this with an open mind… for real. Then I realized the article was pulling my… leg… when I got to the part of the writeup that referred to this “technological innovation” for extracting a sperm donation as a “hands-free goo-getting gadget” (WTF)! Science gone silly in this post. Full article linked after the jump. Read it if you want. Take it how you want. But what you want to do now… is click and watch the ‘flick’ above. HILARIOUS!

Lupe Fiasco Explains His ‘Food & Liquor II’ Album Cover (Video)

According to Lupe Fiasco, you can understand why he wears black on stage and chose an all black album cover for “Food & Liquor II” by listening to the late Johnny Cash’s “Man In Black.” Of course, he does explain it a bit in this interview for Fuse TV, too. Lupe also admits… all black packaging makes the album easy to find in stores; AND it makes for a striking collector’s piece for one’s music library. Of course, we grabbed that “Man in Black” and put it in this post for you. Deep. Check it out after the jump.

VICE: Israel’s Radical Left (Documentary)

VICE travels to Israel to meet young members of the growing radical left, in the lead up to the one-year anniversary of the biggest protest in Israel’s history. Last summer, while the world was busy following the Arab Spring, nearly half a million Israelis took to the streets demanding social justice and an end to the rule of the tycoons. Still, the government didn’t listen. The protest movement was nicknamed J14, short for July 14, marking the date a girl named Daphni Leef pitched the first tent in central Tel Aviv, in protest against high rents and living costs. Fed up with threats of imminent wars with their Arab neighbors, the hostile ways of land grabbing religious nutters in silly hats, and the fact that almost two million Israelis are living in poverty, young people are choosing the path of dissent.

We follow Ronnie Barkan, an Israeli Jew who fights for Palestinian rights, to a protest in the West Bank. We also meet Daphni Leef and Stav Shaffir, the most famous faces of the protest movement, who inspire people all over Israel to get involved. We visit creatives who have unique ways of dealing with the government’s fear mongering: Ronny Edry and Michal Tamir, who started the Facebook campaign Israel Loves Iran; Artist Guy Briller, who drives around with a missile on his car to ease the tension and make people laugh; and Yuda Braun, a former IDF soldier turned artist, who patrols the streets of conflict ridden areas as the White Soldier.

Finally, we get a gruesome reminder of the depths of desperation felt by many Israelis, when, during the massive one-year anniversary demo, we witness a man set fire to himself in protest against Israel’s dysfunctional welfare system. It’s an insight into everyday life in Israel that goes beyond the hackneyed media coverage of Gaza rockets and death tolls. This film is about young Israelis starting a revolution for social justice.” – VICE

Black Star Addresses ‘Palestinian Freedom’ On Stage and Backstage (Video)

During Black Star’s performance in Los Angeles on September 22nd, 2012, Talib Kweli and Yasiin Bey (formerly known as Mos Def) diverted from the original lyrics of “RE: DEFinition” and chose to rap in unison, “Let’s get free just like the Palestinians!” After the show, Yasiin spoke candidly (albeit carefully) about the significance of the lyric change and Black Star’s stance on justice and peace in Palestine; and elsewhere for all people.

We’ll leave further interpretations and implications for the lyric change to you, the reader. For reference, eLyrics and RapGenius both document the original lyric in “RE:Definition” going like:

Son I’m way past the minimum, it’s a verb millennium
My rap’s hold a gat to your back, like Palestinians
