Comedy: Ice Cube, Kevin Hart, & Conan O’Brien Outtakes (Video)

Even the outtakes from that Ice Cube, Kevin Hart, and Conan O’Brien sketch are classic hilarity. They need to just go ahead a make a movie out of this… Watch the outtakes above (and the finished sketch video via link to an earlier post below).  We haven’t seen the new movie ‘Ride Along’ that’s currently in theaters yet, but its doing very well at the box office grossing over $41 Million over the MLK holiday weekend making it the number one film in the country.

Comedy: Ice Cube & Kevin Hart Get A ‘Lyft’ With Conan O’Brien (Video)

Ice Cube & Kevin Hart were on the Conan O’Brien show promoting their upcoming film ‘Ride Along’ that was filmed here in Atlanta & will hit theaters January 17th. In this hilarious skit Conan, Cube, & Kevin Hart ride along with a ‘Lyft’ car driver to get some weed, purchase a few 40 ounces, holla at the ladies on the street, all while trying to avoid the ‘po-po’. This joint was so funny they could probably write an idea for another movie off of this Conan O’Brien show segment alone. This is f’kn hilarious!

Ice Cube – “Sasquatch” (Video)

We had an early link to this new Ice Cube early last week, but somebody hated it was rendered dead it was taken down for some reason. Nobody had an alternate link around the Interwebs. But dedicated Hip-Hop media professionals that we are… we looked again and found it. Here it is. Visuals for Ice Cube’s “Sasquatch.”

After 19 Years, Ice Cube Appears On ‘The Arsenio Hall Show’ (Video)

Have you been watching Arsenio Hall’s show this debut week? You should be. Every show so far has historical significance, but this one – with Ice Cube sitting on the guest couch – no doubt sent shock waves through the Hip-Hop universe. Cube promo’d his coming movie projects… dropped some names (Dr. Dre, F. Gary Gray, Kendrick Lamar) … but that’s not what the real hubbub is about. If you KNOW your Golden Era Hip-Hop history (and the lyrics that documented it) you’ll recognize Cube’s words from ‘The N!gga Ya Love To Hate’:

You ask me, Do I like Arsenio? / about as much as the Bicentennial / I don’t give a f*ck about dissin’ these fools / ‘Cause they all scared of the Ice Cube.

You know, back in the day, Arsenio passed on Ice Cube appearing/performing on his original 90s show. Think he might have taken that snub to heart? Well, nearly 20 years later, reconciliation comes with an incredible story. See, a young hot-headed Cube showed up to Arsenio’s set to give the host a piece of his mind for dissin’ the OG. He didn’t see Arsenio… but he did run into a young intern on the show who had just penned a movie script. The intern: John Singleton. His script: “Boyz In The Hood.”

Singleton convinced Cube to play the character that would become known to the world as ‘Dough Boy’ but there’s more… Cube always credits John Singleton as the man who got him to write his first screenplay (“Friday”)… and the rest is cinema (and Golden Era) history!

Arsenio has a hot show going so far. Check your local listings and check for it.

Ice Cube – “Everythang’s Corrupt” (Video)

As people around the country are gearing up for the 2012 Presidential elections & lining up to vote early if they can, Ice Cube delivers a brand new politically charged video for something most of us already believe when it comes to the political system & society in general. We all should know that voting is only a small part of the process in making this society better, but deep down we can all agree with Oshea Jackson…‘Everythang’s Corrupt’

N.W.A. Nominated For The 2013 Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame

It’s so crazy how two of my favorite groups of all-time have both been nominated for the 2013 Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame. We saw the announcement from DJ Lord & Flavor Flav about their group Public Enemy’s nomination, but upon closer inspection we also see the guys who put Compton on the map get nominations. Ice Cube, Eazy-E, Dr. Dre, MC Ren, & DJ Yella as N.W.A. get the nods as well & the timing couldn’t be anymore perfect as there is already a biographical film that’s currently in production directed by F. Gary Gray to tell their story. Dope!

‘Inductees will be determined by the hall’s voting body of roughly 600 artists, historians and music industry professionals. An artist or band becomes eligible for a nomination 25 years after releasing a debut single or album. This year’s nominees released their first recordings no later than 1987.’

Ice Cube On ESPN’s First Take (Video)

Ice Cube stopped by Stephen A. Smith & Skip Bayless’s digs over at ESPN’s First Take to speak on all things Lakers & of course the NFL having a franchise in Los Angeles. I hope that doesn’t mean Ice Cube would quit being a Raiders fan if they don’t move to L.A.

Ice Cube Speaks On ‘N.W.A.’ movie, ’21 Jump Street’ film, & Another ‘Friday’ Movie (Video)

I haven’t really caught BET’s 106 & Park in years regularly. It’s been a long while since I sat down & paid attention but Ice Cube appeared on the show recently promoting his new “21 Jump Street” film. In addition to plugging & promoting for the new film that opens March 16th, Mr. Oshea Jackson spoke on the upcoming ‘Friday’ film, an N.W.A. movie, & more….

A Day In The Life: Ice Cube Attends Oakland Raiders Game (Video)

I’m an Oakland Raiders fan & I’ll be flying to Oakland early tomorrow so I can catch Sunday’s game against the Chicago Bears. I usually fly to Cali at least once a year specifically to be in attendance to watch my Raiders play. Fellow Raider fan & West Coast legend Ice Cube & his wife made a trip out to a game two weeks ago on November 6th against the Denver Broncos. Our Raiders didn’t beat the Broncos that day, but hopefully my presence in the “Black Hole” this Sunday will edge us a win over the Chicago Bears. Maybe I’ll use my iphone & do my own “Raiders: Day In The Life Of Jayforce” for y’all depending on how I feel. In the meantime, Hue Jackson & the team need to keep doing it for Big Al Davis. Just Win Baby!

Update: Jayforce attends Raiders Vs. Bears game… Raiders Win 25-20. Video below…

The BLITZ – 3/4/11: Drinkin’ Ice-T With Ice Cubes Edition

It’s the morning BLITZ! Even Gangsta Rappers keep up with world events…..the Lethal Weapon Is the Mind Right O.G.? It’s friday & time to put this week behind us & on Ice….Ice Cubes for my Ice-T. Time to chill. I choose this photo for a variety of reasons that are merely coincidential. For one we’re one day removed from the Rodney King verdict which sparked one of the most infamous riots in the history of the U.S. & within the country in general. Both Ice Cube & Ice-T are rocking ‘Looters’ caps from the film they both starred in years ago & there was a whole lotta lootin’ going on during the riots. Ice-T & Ice Cube have both created gangsta rap music with social commentary but these days Ice-T is playing a cop on television &  Ice Cube is known for making family oriented films. If you happen to be in Atlanta then you know Ice Cube is performing tomorrow night. Maybe I’m just reaching with all of these coincidences or parallels I’m trying to put together but here’s to the end of the work week.  It’s time for the BLITZ! Today should be a good day…….Jump in!
