Now that the official Team USA has been chosen for the 2012 Olympics in the guys have been getting together for scrimmages to get ready for the games in London. Following the Team USA scrimmage in Las Vegas, L.A. Clippers Forward & former NBA Dunk Contest Champion Blake Griffin put on quite a show for his peers as he did an ill 1-handed dunk after bouncing the ball off the back wall of the gym. Seemed like many of his Team USA peers enjoyed the dunk & have been enjoying the comrardery with each other except for Kobe Bryant who appears distant in many photos. Shout to hoopmixtape.com

JayForce recently gave on-air commentary (on The Remix and the Beatz & Lyrics shows) about his experiences at the last game of the 2012 NBA finals, about King-with-his-first-ring Lebron James, and about the welcome feel of the arena and locale. I took in all he said: the game being an incredible experience, the King’s ring being well-deserved, the Heat being the team of destiny (giving thanks to all those Lebron haters who lost bets to him), and that Miami knows how to celebrate. However, the comments that would follow – building on that last point – were likely what gave listeners the most to think about…that in Atlanta, fans are being dissed AND that money is being missed!

I’ve said this many times via twitter that NBA analysts & sportswriters like Skip Bayless don’t do enough research but always speak in broad generalities about sports. The unfortunate thing about when this happens is there are some people that listen to these guys who make no freakin’ sense at all. Billionaire Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban appeared on ESPN’s First Take & damn near reduced Skip Bayless to what should be his real name “Skip Baseless” because rarely anything he ever says is rooted in fact but only on how he feels it should be. I believe one of the primary reasons for the Lebron James hate around the country is caused by casual sports fans listening to guys like Skip Baseless. You know…Nardwuar does some REALLY GOOD INTERVIEWS! This time he put the mic to The NBA Baller Formerly Known as Ron Artest – Metta World Peace. In this video, Nardwuar still interviewed with the trademark quirkiness that is in keeping with his character; and he showed deep knowledge of his interviewee – as followers have come to expect. In particular, Nardwuar showed he knew a lot about Queensbridge Hip-Hop and NBA ball players who’ve held a mic; some of which was unknown to Metta World Peace (a Queensbridge B-Baller and Hip-Hop head). Just as endearing, the genuine appreciation Nardwuar has for the time Metta World Peace spends with him comes through. Most amazing: Metta World Peace stayed this side of quirky throughout the entire session (quite amiable, actually); not one crazy moment! Well…the “cockroaches” reference…but Nardwuar topped that with the grasshoppers! Floyd Mayweather Vs. Manny Pacquiao Fight May Only Happen ‘By The Numbers’ (Video)

Manny Pacquiao lost a split decision fight last night to undefeated fighter Timothy Bradley who advances to a 29-0 record with 12 Knockouts. Although I won a wager with several friends last night when I picked the 5-1 odds underdog to beat Pacman, I was surprised just like anyone else when it was announced that Bradley won the fight by a split decision. Although I felt Bradley held his own, it was pretty evident that Pacman was in control of things. The fight that everyone REALLY wants to see is the Floyd Mayweather vs. Manny Pacquiao fight, but it’s likely to never happen after this point. For those that aren’t aware promoter Bob Arum represents both Pacquiao & Bradley so with last night’s loss it sets the stage for an obvious rematch for sometime in November. I believe it’s all a ploy to avoid any contest with Mayweather for a possible big-time fight in November. We have have to face reality that it’s never going to happen. The video above maybe the closest Boxing fans will ever get to see in terms of a Mayweather vs. Pacquiao fight if we simply did it by the numbers.

Lebron James & Kevin Durant Were ‘Striving For Greatness’ Together Before The NBA Finals (Video)

Now that the Miami Heat have won the Eastern Conference finals & are set to face off against the Western Conference Champion OKC Thunder, it seemed like it was destined to happen that two friends would face each other in an NBA Finals series at some point. It’s rather ironic that Lebron James & Kevin Durant were just working out with each other in Lebron’s hometown of Akron earlier this season. I predicted the 2012 NBA Finals would find Miami vs. OKC. I’m a big supporter both Lebron & Durant & wish them well, but let’s go Heat! Shout out to the homie Brando for the reminder on the clip above…
