Unsung: Kid ‘N Play (Video)

Hmmm… don’t know if Kid ‘N Play could truly be considered ‘Unsung’… seeing as how they had hit records (plural), a string of movies, that hook-the-legs-spin-around-shoe-tap dance thing… but they are on an episode. Aaaand the insights from those episodes are really good; this one included. Watch TVOne’s documentary exploration of one of Hip-Hop’s favorite duos.

Plenty of good music is coming out of Canada right now.  When you talk Hip Hop of course Drake is an obvious choice but also artists like Rich Kidd, Tona, making quality music. The producers are also making noise like Kaytranada, and today we speak with his HW&W label mate Elaquent who just released a new album titled “Good Karma”.  It’s eleven original beat tracks that you can groove to.  He exclusively spoke with Jayforce.com about his new project.  Enjoy the track Far Away posted and click after the jump to read full interview.

Sandra Bland: How Did An Improper Turn Signal Lead to Her Death? (Video)

Recently the country has had their eyes on Texas yet again for another encounter of cops and the treatment of Black Women.  A couple months back there was the incident of cops in McKinney TX violently attacking young black children and a young sista was slammed to the ground and sat on by a Race Soldier I mean officer of the law.  Now in Waller County, TX the sad story of Sandra Bland who was found dead in her jail cell after she was arrested for a turn signal violation.  The local cops have claimed it is suicide but the Bland family disagrees and thinks their is foul play.  A lot of people across the country thought the same especially since Sandra Bland was an outgoing 28 year old who just landed her dream job at her alma mater Prairie View A&M University.  That doesn’t strike me as someone who wants to kill themselves over a traffic stop.  Dr Boyce Watkins uses his platform to speak on this topic and invites Yvette Carnell founder of ( BreakingBrown.com ) & Benjamin Dixon ( TheBenjaminDixonShow.com ) to join him and go deeper into this incident and what it represents.  The sad reality is this traffic stop led to this woman’s death and the officer who is paid to protect and serve did his part to ignite confrontation.  This is great discussion by free thinkers not controlled by corporate media.  Video of the officer pulling Sandra Bland over after the jump.

Comedy: Sean Price Gets His ‘Tyrese’ On… Singing On The Bus (Video)

Aaaahahaaaa! At least some of you remember how we were introduced to R&B’er, podcaster and actor Tyrese right? Noooo, not in “Baby Boy”… He was singing on the bus in the Coca-Cola commercial way before that. Well, Sean Price remembers. And with Tyrese going back on public transit to sing and promote his “Black Rose” album, P! likely felt it was time for him to do some piggyback promo (or just act a damn fool, same difference) for his “Songs In The Key Of Price” album (due out August 21, 2015).

Great choice of artist to include on this official remix by bringing J. Cole along for the ride as well. Dope! ‘Don’t Sleeep.’

Camp Lo – “Life I Love” (Video)

Nice visuals help to bring a project to life.  Camp Lo is doing a good job with creating nice visuals for their most recent project Ragtimes HighTimes.  Their latest video is for the track “Life I Love” a smooth track with the beat produced by Ski Beatz (he produced the entire album).  You have the Diamond Crooks Sonny Cheeba & Geechi Suede leaving a bank with a bag full of money and riding through NYC.  Now how did they get that money who knows? Like some 70’s playas though they didn’t run from the bank they walked out the from door now how cool is that.  The toothpick avengers still pulling off heists LOL!

Prince – “Baltimore” feat. Eryn Allen Kane (Video)

Respect to Eryn Allen Kane for the gumption. Doing the work featuring on the ‘wake up people!’ jawn by Prince entitled “Baltimore” (we posted earlier on here) AND uploading the visuals for it to the Tube to spread the music and message. Check it out above. All about the people and the problem; it’s a tribute video. So, we don’t get the artists in here as much as a presentation of scenes and facts. But that is more than okay. Feels right.

Spectre (Trailer)

New trailer for the latest James Bond 007 movie – “Spectre.” Daniel Craig once again plays the lead, quintessential cool, world-hopping agent/assassin who manages to hop on his fair share of Honeyz in the midst of his secret missions. Plus a shadow organization (Spectre) with a shadowier (that a word? yup, passed spell check) leader and Bond foe.

Set for release in the UK on October 26, 2015. In the US on November 6, 2015.

Dayne Jordan – “Memoirs Of Dayne Jordan” (Prod. By DJ Jazzy Jeff) [Album]

“Prior to this album, there was a lot of confusion in reference to who I am, where I come from, and what I am about. Jeff provided the perfect sonic canvas for me to paint on.”
Dayne Jordan

DJ Jazzy Jeff as mentor and beatmaker for this entire “Memoirs” LP really cannot be anything but set us up to expect greatness, but doesn’t that put a lot of pressure on Dayne Jordan to deliver on the expectation? Yes. And does he deliver? Solid YES! Jordan is going hard nowadays, touring the world as Jeff’s – helping rock the parties [you’ve been seeing on here] on Vinyl Destination… and yet he still gives birth to this full-length banger… AND check out the words of praise from Jeff.

“It’s rare when you work with someone who is as pure and focused as Dayne… this was hands down the most enjoyable project I’ve ever done.”
DJ Jazzy Jeff

‘Nuff said. Well one more thing… you get the whole sha-banga-bang for the FREE.99… stream AND download. Go. Go now! You’re welcome.
