“I felt like there was a dark cloud over my head for a long time. So when I was rapping about death, I was just rhyming about things that were imminent. Stuff that was happening around that time, it was just a dark time for me.”
Royce da 5’9

Now sober two years, he is grateful for having made it through that period alive and without major jail time. Offering thoughts on where Hip-Hop should be going, Preemo and Royce talk about expectations for the greats. You know how Rhythm Roulette goes… goes to local record store, searches endless stacks of wax blindfolded, picks three and makes a beat from them. Poised Under Pressure: How Michael K. Williams Finds Peace (Video)

I love what I do, but I LOVE when people love what I do.
Michael K. Williams

That sentiment stokes the fire that builds pressure in the cooker. Making this episode or that film the best, making the most of this media appearance or that one. On top of that, Michael is his own ‘image consultant’ – choosing his own clothes and look for these events. Why does he add that pressure to the situation when, at his level, he could hire someone.

Because the time he spends dressing himself, getting a haircut… are like his Zen meditation. Peaceful silence and renewed focus. Watch.

R&B/Soul: Esta – “Can’t Wait” featuring SPZRKT

They say Patience is a virtue, but some things in life are just hard to wait on.  Like waiting on food at a restaurant when you are hungry or waiting in line to get into a popular club.  One thing I know a lot of men can agree on is they can’t wait to see that special lady in their lives if they have said lady.

Well the DJ/Producer Esta (Soulection DJ) teams up with singer SPZRKT explaining this nicely with the track you guessed it named “Can’t Wait”.  This track will have guys thinking they can sing to their ladies.  I suggest you just play the song by Esta (featuring SPZRKT). Fellas trust me, I already attempted and the lady enjoyed the song more! Check out SPZRKT new album BONFIRE.

Royce Da 5’9″ Speaks On When He Pulled His Gun Out On Proof (Video)

Wow. Um…Wow! Probably some things should stay ‘undeclared’ – like beef that includes pulling out the heat! But Royce Da 5’9 and Proof (of D12) got through it… once they got arrested… and spent some time talking… in jail…

(Haahaaa! Extravagantly wasteful studio party with a gang of ‘unattractive strippers’… Where they do that at? Ask Royce.)

J. Keys – “Guilty”

We have seen a lot go on currently involving police murdering unarmed Black men.  It is unfortunate that we are experiencing these encounters even worse that the cops responsible are not being tried in court.  So will Artists speak out and make music talking about this issue?  Some have done this and one of our good friends J. Keys has done just that.  His latest track “Guilty” deals with this topic over a hard hitting beat produced by Cultural Bastards.

“From director George Miller, originator of the post-apocalyptic genre and mastermind behind the legendary “Mad Max” franchise, comes “Mad Max: Fury Road,” a return to the world of the Road Warrior, Max Rockatansky.

Haunted by his turbulent past, Mad Max believes the best way to survive is to wander alone. Nevertheless, he becomes swept up with a group fleeing across the Wasteland in a War Rig driven by an elite Imperator, Furiosa. They are escaping a Citadel tyrannized by the Immortan Joe, from whom something irreplaceable has been taken. Enraged, the Warlord marshals all his gangs and pursues the rebels ruthlessly in the high-octane Road War that follows.

Tom Hardy (“The Dark Knight Rises”) stars in the title role in “Mad Max: Fury Road”—the fourth in the franchise’s history. Oscar winner Charlize Theron (“Monster,” “Prometheus”) stars as the Imperator, Furiosa. The film also stars Nicholas Hoult (“X-Men: Days of Future Past”) as Nux; Hugh Keays-Byrne (“Mad Max,” “Sleeping Beauty”) as Immortan Joe; and Nathan Jones (“Conan the Barbarian”) as Rictus Erectus. Collectively known as The Wives, Zoë Kravitz (“Divergent”) plays Toast, Riley Keough (“Magic Mike”) is Capable, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley (“Transformers: Dark of the Moon”) is Splendid, and supermodel Abbey Lee is The Dag, and Courtney Eaton is Fragile. Also featured in the movie are Josh Helman as Slit, Jennifer Hagan as Miss Giddy, and singer/songwriter/performer iOTA as Coma-Doof Warrior.

Warner Bros. Come through, show some tit, talk about how you do (or how to prep for getting poked in the doo-doo)… You know it’s another day for Sway, Tracy G, and their sexy guest Asa Akira. You know how ‘real talk’ can sound so unreal BUT you gotta keep listening? Well, you will when you click play. It all starts with Tracy G’s intro (some real… umm… admiration by Tracy G). Asa explaining to Sway about all it takes to ready her a**hole for extreme penetration… It’s crazy.
