Heated Debate On White Privilege: Jon Stewart vs. Bill O’Reilly Square Off (Video)
Frienemies Jon Stewart and conservative commentator Bill O’Reilly sit down to have a light convo about White privilege. Yeah… NO! Heck, it took a gargantuan effort from Stewart to even get O’Reilly to admit that White privilege exists… on some level O’Reilly. And even then he stuck to his guns; refusing to acknowledge that White people enjoy any advantages in America because of their race.
“You think I’m sitting here because I’m White? What are you, a moron? I’m sitting here because I’m obnoxious, not because I’m White!â€
– Bill O’Reilly
Ummm… heh, heh… That’s just a piece of it. See the full fracas above. Keep in mind that they actually respect each other… sorta.

It’s nothing… it’s easy! Sway put on the “Mind’s Playing Tricks On Me” beat and damn if Big K.R.I.T didn’t go in on it. Then hit ’em with some lyricals a capella from the LP like that was nothing… Effortless, but engaging, you wanna watch this Sway show snippet.
(Some insightful interview footage from K.R.I.T. after the jump, too.)

The Fight Against Ebola (Video)
VICE News is literally going into the hot zone (Monrovia, Liberia) to bring us news on the fight against Ebola at ground zero; right as U.S. President Barack Obama announced that the American military would have boots on the ground shortly
The current Ebola outbreak in West Africa began in Guinea in December 2013. From there, it quickly spread to Liberia and Sierra Leone. Cases also appeared in Senegal and Nigeria, and there was another outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Today, Liberia is at the center of the epidemic, with more than 3,000 cases of infection. About half of them have been fatal.
As you’ll see in the mini-documentary, the threat is not a ‘threat’… it’s REAL. And for those in the West; we have not been hit hard, but we’ve been hit. Maybe this will wake us up to the reality that problems over there ain’t just “their” problems. Watch, learn… about the outbreak, response & solutions, frustrations and more.
Thank you, VICE News… again… for news coverage and information (not just a quick scare before moving on to the next shiny story).
Will Smith To Star in ‘Focus’ (Trailer)
“There’s two kinds of people in this world. There’re hammers and nails… You decide which one you wanna be.”
Will Smith is a box office beast! Looks like he’s got another smash showing you why? This “Focus” takes the big-risk-big-rewards-big-fails paradigm and ramps it up to 10. Delicious-looking eye candy / rookie con-artist trying to run Big Willie Style with (or over?) the crew.
Will Smith stars as Nicky, a seasoned master of misdirection who becomes romantically involved with novice con artist Jess (Margot Robbie). As he’s teaching her the tricks of the trade, she gets too close for comfort and he abruptly breaks it off. Three years later, the former flame—now an accomplished femme fatale—shows up in Buenos Aires in the middle of the high stakes racecar circuit. In the midst of Nicky’s latest, very dangerous scheme, she throws his plans for a loop…and the consummate con man off his game.

Detroit Producer/Rapper Black Milk, Sean Price, and Guilty Simpson reunite as Random Axe for a single from the Milk’s forthcoming album, “If There’s A Hell Below” (due out October 28, 2014). This is “Scum.” That’s the title of the song, not a shot. Actually pretty dope.
Citizenfour (Trailer)
Ummm yeah, a movie about THAT Edward Snowden.
“Citizenfour” is the never before seen, utterly riveting first-person look at how director Laura Poitras and journalist Glenn Greenwald first met with whistleblower Edward Snowden in Hong Kong where he gave them documents showing widespread abuses of power by the National Security Administration. It is an unprecedented fly-on-the-wall account of one of the most groundbreaking moments in recent history.
Watch the trailer above and be afraid. Or not. Doesn’t matter because this happened. This is happening…
Robert Glasper Experiment – “I Stand Alone” feat. Common x Patrick Stump (Video)
Who’s ready for some Jazzy-Soul-Hop? You, hopefully, because you’re about to be blessed. Robert Glasper’s fam (Robert Glasper Experiment) invited some other fam in to jam on “I Stand Alone” (fam like Common & Patrick Stump). This’ll make your body nod. And just as you really get into it, and they get into it… You realize that there are a whole lot of people in here ‘standing alone’ (peep all the cameos/spots at the end).
Dave East – “Stretched Out” (Video)
‘Grandmama screaming in the church’ could very well be because of this dope “Stretched Out” track from Dave East. Here’s the video (also dope) for the track off the “A3C” Volume 4 (LP).
(Okay, a good listen will let you know that Gramsie is screaming for a much darker reason… just saying…)
Celebrating its 10 year anniversary, the A3C Hip-Hop Festival has renewed its partnership with iHipHop Distribution to bring a diverse array of new hip-hop to fans across the globe with “A3C” Volume 4.

Tesla Unveils ‘Autopilot’ Function To Make Its Cars Driverless (Video)
Elon Musk (you know, the dude after whom the makers of the ‘Iron Man’ movies modeled Tony Stark) says the D series of Tesla’s Model S sedan will be out soon; and he is gunning to put autonomous cars on the road by 2023.
I think we’ll be able to achieve true autonomous driving, where you could literally get in the car, go to sleep and wake up at your destination.
– Elon Musk
Now, take it easy, it is expected to take two to three years after release for regulators to approve the autonomous cars for use in public. Still, the company demo’d its autopilot feature at a media event outside Los Angeles a little over a week ago.
(More video after the jump.)

Sharaya J – “Takin’ It No More” / “Shut It Down” (Video)
It’s like Missy Elliott puts a stamp on her work. You can tell when she drops a hit, writes a hit for someone else… or directs and exec produces visuals complete with some of the most stunning choreography! You know, like she does for the Sharaya J “Takin’ It No More” / “Shut It Down” video two-fer above.
(Think Sharaya is leaning on Missy to get/keep her position? Nah… her father was a member of 90’s Hip-Hop group Double XX Posse; so the pedigree is already there. Learn more about the up-n-comer after the jump.)

Director Jason Goldwatch Followed Jay Electronica To The Ends Of The Earth And ‘Into The Light’ (Extended Trailer)
An experimental, exploratory film based on Jay Electronica’s journey to the other side of the world; and the worlds therein. It’s called “Into the Light” (due out soon).
Best described as a meditation in un-learning. A movement in seeing without watching, hearing without listening, and the brave exploration of spirit.
Crazy impactful video in the clip above. Whatever it is going to be, it is going to be worth the watch.

Behind The Scenes: Perspectives Of The Makers Of ‘Time Is Illmatic’ (Mini-Documentary)
Whoa! One9 did the ‘Rap City’ logo for BET back in the day? Helluva factoid. And that’s not even the main thing. The main theme: A story of two part-time-gone-full-time filmmakers. It took 10 years, two major meetings, and a bunch of moral victories and sacrifice… but these gentlemen made art they could be proud of… that Nas was proud of!
Hennessy presents an inside look with filmmakers One9 and Erik Parker on their 10-year-journey to make NAS: TIME IS ILLMATIC.
Literally, a long story made short. Two guys take the art from their hearts all the way to the Tribeca Film Festival!
