Terry Urban Presents: Nas x Amy Winehouse – “Me & Mr. Jones” (Mixtape)
On July 17, 2012, the incomparable emcee Nas releases his long awaited album “Life Is Good.” On July 23, 2012, fans commemorate the first anniversary of the passing of the unforgettable Amy Winehouse. What’s the tie-in? Leave it to Terry Urban to make one. His incredible mix of work from the two incredible artists – entitled “Me & Mr. Jones” – is a concept that is (to say the least) an unexpected treat. This is an appropriate release in advance of both monumental events; and a good piece of work on its own merits. Respect.

R&B/Soul: Frank Ocean – “Sweet Life”
New joint! “Sweet Life” is another hit from Frank Ocean. This cut will appear on “Channel Orange,” Frank Ocean’s debut album due out July 17, 2012. This man makes GREAT music; say what you will about him. Nah…let me revise that: If what you say is hateful…DO NOT SAY IT HERE. How about that? Just enjoy the music. I do.

R&B: Jeremih – “Keep It Moving” (featuring Marcus Fench)
Chicago native Jeremih drizzles all kinds of smoothness over a laid-back track in “Keep It Moving,†the latest release off his upcoming mixtape “Late Nights.â€Â The song features a familiar sample that A Tribe Called Quest may have used for their popular hit “Electric Relaxation”. The cut features a verse from Marcus French, whose most notable industry credit came from co-writing the hit “Birthday Sex.†You can ride out with this joint, or you can call someone over and stay in. Good music.
Mac Miller – “America” (featuring Casey Veggies x Joey Bada$$) [Video]
Well, well. Pittsburgh’s own Mac Miller decided to set off his own fireworks for July 4th! This is a video (released on Independence Day) for “America,” a single off his “Macadelic” mixtape (out now). For this banger, it seems he loaded extra firepower – Casey Veggies and Joey Bada$$ (who was just featured in a post here). So, celebrate your Independents’ Day (get it?) today by clicking and watching now!

Havoc (of Mobb Deep) – “Same Sh*t Different Day”
Legendary producer Havoc (of Mobb Deep) drops the first leak from his forthcoming EP entitled “13.” This joint, “Same Shit Different Day,†features lyrics spit with a “hollow” effect applied (reminds me of that megaphone rap old school emcees like Paris used to use on tracks back in the day) over Havoc’s signature grimy production. Somebody spill the beans though: Did Havoc take a shot at Prodigy (his partner in Mobb Deep) on this track? Listen when Havoc spits, “N*ggas out here dry snitchin’ writin’ books / lyin’ out they ass just to sell a book.†That could be taken as a reference to Prodigy’s autobiography, “My Infamous Life,” (which caused quite a stir when it dropped last year). Well, we have a video post on here that has Prodigy squashing rumors of beef between the Mobb members; but that was then. What’s up now? Who cares. Just enjoy the H-A-V-O-C on the M-I-C doing it gritty; and let the rest rest.

What Atlanta’s NBA Franchise Can Learn From The Miami Heat: Pay Attention You’re Missing A Payday!
JayForce recently gave on-air commentary (on The Remix and the Beatz & Lyrics shows) about his experiences at the last game of the 2012 NBA finals, about King-with-his-first-ring Lebron James, and about the welcome feel of the arena and locale. I took in all he said: the game being an incredible experience, the King’s ring being well-deserved, the Heat being the team of destiny (giving thanks to all those Lebron haters who lost bets to him), and that Miami knows how to celebrate. However, the comments that would follow – building on that last point – were likely what gave listeners the most to think about…that in Atlanta, fans are being dissed AND that money is being missed!

Jon Doe x Cappuccino (DOECINO) – “Summer School”
School is in session as the original Tennessean Don Dada Cino (aka Cappuccino & formerly known as Eddie Meeks) and DJ Jon Doe team up to bring you “Summer School,” the first single from their forthcoming project “Stanky.” Cino is the self-appointed “prolific lyrical professor teaching Hip Hop 101, the ABC’s.” I heard that. Now, hear this: He could be right! Check it out as Cino goes IN on the Jon Doe track!

NAS feat. Amy Winehouse – “Cherry Wine”
Another quality gem from Nas’s upcoming “Life Is Good” album due July 17th. This particular single produced by Salaam Remi featuring Nas’s fallen soul sister who shares the same birthday the late great Amy Winehouse. Apparently the collaboration came about through one of Nas’s past recording sessions with Amy Winehouse a few years ago. With all these quality songs the Queensbridge emcee has been releasing all I can say is……Life is Good…. indeed…..

Bridgez Interview x Jah Prince
Balancing time in the studio with music and in front of the camera lens, we hear from Bridgez. We talk about the dancehall scene in Jamaica and how the key to success is to constantly promote yourself which basically is to stay in front of the people as much as possible. Bridgez talks about her mixtape ‘The Crossover’, working with Echo One Productions, new collaborations and even touring Europe with the Grung Gaad Bounty Killer. We also feature two tracks on the Aurora Skies Riddim produced by Elvis (So Unique).

Tig Knight – “Passion of the Knight” (Video)
Birmingham stand up!! Alabama’s own Tig Knight has been doing the thing on the Indie Hip-Hop scene in the Steel City for some time now; but this one…WOOOO…this one is gritty! And I love it! Check out “Passion of the Knight” – a dark introspective interpretation of life as a young inner-city Black male - for yourself.
Eye Candy: Alba Nitza (Video) [NSFW]
Mm…mm…mm!! Do NOT watch this at your workplace [NSFW]. Nah, do NOT risk that. As soon as you can though, get somewhere where there are no prying eyes and enjoy the Eye Candy that is sweet Latina Alba Nitza! Hmm…I definitely think I am onto something here. See, I post videos of the THICKEST most DELICIOUS and SEXIEST women ON THE PLANET (like Alba)… and I win y’all over to Team Jayforce. I think it is a sound strategy, but what do you think? IT DOESN’T MATTER WHAT YOU THINK!! (Haaaaahaha! That was The Rock in rare form back in the day on WWF a.k.a. WWE. Classic.) You mad though? Well, peep the video. I guaran-DAMN-tee you will feel better in a minute!

Reggae/Dancehall: Honorebel – “Ravin and Clean” (Video)
Having launched his musical career in the late 90’s, Honorebel has found himself collaborating with Reggae legends such as Sly and Robbie, while infusing Hip-Hop Beats with producers like Scott Storch. Over the years, Honorebel’s music keeps morphing; hard to categorize, but easy to love. From Roots Dancehall to crunk Hip-Hop to techno-pop to pop-rock, Honorebel’s music has reached across audiences and across oceans (as far as Russia, where he performed live at the Russian MTV Video Music Awards in 2007 with Russian Pop Star, Julia Kova). Honorebel has already proven that he nor his music will be limited; and the Rebel in him comes through even in this club joint, “Ravin and Clean.” Click… and enjoy… and you’re welcome.
