The Fate Of The Furious (Trailer)

Have you SEEN the new Fast & Furious sequel (“The Fate of the Furious”) trailer? More to the point, have you spent the requisite amount of time hollering at the screen as the trailer played like, “OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH, SHEEEEEEIIIIIIT!!” yet? Because that is what this is. Looks like some mighty fine buttery popcorn watching. RIP to Paul Walker, but fans ought to wonder if Brian O’Connor (or his memory) will somehow ‘bring Dom back’ to the family.

DOPE trailer. Watch!

(New evil cute chick spotted! And don’t you wanna see a Jason Statham vs. Dwayne Johnson vs. Vin Diesel three-way scrap… or is that just us??)

ESPN’s 30 For 30: This Was The XFL (Trailer)

This trailer is intriguing. Check it out.

ESPN, the world’s sports leader, is going to do a documentary on the XFL, the failed football league borne of and bearing more than a slight resemblance to Vince McMahon’s leading sports entertainment franchise, World Wrestling Entertainment. Any televised sport has to be entertaining enough to bring eyeballs and ad revenue, right? So maybe Vince thought he could put out an entertaining football program with no sweat. Whatever the motivations and machinations behind the result and resulting demise, we should learn something watching this 30 For 30.

(Speaking of learning something… Do you know what XFL stood for? Answer: It was NOT Xtreme Football League! It was not an acronym at all. Learned something already, huh?)

The Circle (Trailer)

Dammit, Tom Hanks! Just when we were starting to see the upside of using drones more, here you come with the spin… And why not give us some creepy ‘watching you’ music to make this Orwell cocktail go down all the more eerily. “The Circle” trailer above. Wow. Emma Watson, watch yourself. Hanks’ easygoing help mankind by ‘sharing’ vibes feels like a setup for a Jobs times a Google-zillion level Zucker punch!

A woman lands a job at a powerful tech company called the Circle, where she becomes involved with a mysterious man.

Spider-Man: Homecoming (Trailer)

Oh yes sir, yes ma’am, yes yes y’all. Spidey is in the muh fuh king Marvel [Movie Franchise] Universe now! You saw the latest incarnation of the Marvel mainstay in “Captain America: Civil War” but now we get a look at young Parker web-slinging solo… well, at least in the title role. There is certain to be some cameo caramel (would you like some Iron Man Tony Stark with that?) to go with this popcorn-selling soon-to-be-classic! Peep the trailer for “Spider-Man: Homecoming” above.

(Is…Is that Michael Keaton? Hey, DC. You lost your ‘Batman’ hahaaa!)

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (Teaser Trailer)

Baahaaaha! Man, Dave Bautista is acting a fool in these clips. He could end up running away with the lion share of attention (and laughs) in this sure-bet blockbuster. Set for theatrical release late Spring (May) 2017, check out this latest dopest “Guardians of the Galaxy” (Vol. 2) flick.

Fidel Castro Ruz: The Untold Story (Video)

Like most world leaders, the “Untold Story” of Fidel Castro (RIP) is compelling. It is an hour-and-change long, but the presentation and content shared might provide different insights on the man who was once the West’s preeminent dictator. Watch with your eyes and mind fully open.

Ghost in the Shell Trailer (Trailer)

This ain’t Black Widow. Nah, no Romanoff. No Avenger movie here. While Marvel takes a break from her characters, ScoJo is going dolo in the sci-fi action genre. This “Ghost In The Shell” teaser is dope in the eeriest ways. But the filmmaker doesn’t skimp on the sexy either: Skin tights on during the fights, and ScoJo is kissing a girl (ever so gently…nice). See her pitch and trailer above.

Based on the internationally-acclaimed sci-fi property, “Ghost In The Shell” follows Major, a special ops, one-of-a-kind human-cyborg hybrid, who leads the elite task force Section 9. Devoted to stopping the most dangerous criminals and extremists, Section 9 is faced with an enemy whose singular goal is to wipe out Hanka Robotic’s advancements in cyber technology.

“Ghost In The Shell”, starring Scarlett Johansson, is coming to theaters March 31, 2017.

Comedy: “The Holiday Roast” feat. The SquADD (Video)

It’s a double-dose of funny doing double duty. “The Holiday Roast” above is actually a promo vid for the holiday hilarity that just hit theaters entitled “Almost Christmas” AND it’s a damn funny janking session!

(‘Janking’ is ‘cracking jokes’ or ‘joining’ or ‘taking shots’…. or… ahhh just watch… you’ll get it!)

When the boyfriend Trevor comes in, though… daaaamn! Bwaahaaaaa!

Common – “Black America Again” feat. Stevie Wonder (Video)

Common’s been pushing “Black America Again” – his timely released socially ‘woke’ LP that just came out. Common can’t do it any other way than big; evidenced by this short film… not video, but short film… for the title track; executive produced by Ava DuVernay and directed by “Selma” cinematographer Bradford Young. And yeah, you see the Stevie Wonder feature (in other words, BIG)!

…And Of The Son: The Legacy Of David And Jackie Robinson (Mini-Documentary)

David’s story begins by him talking about his going back home to Africa…Tanzania specifically. It’d be an interesting human interest piece if this was just that. But this is a Spike Lee [Lil] Joint. Why the Spike Lee treatment? And why on ESPN? David is activist & baseball legend Jackie Robinson’s son. ESPN’s headline – “Jackie Robinson’s son is a coffee farmer in Tanzania” – rather oversimplifies what this documentary is covering, but it’s a good watch!

Attraction (Official Trailer #2)

I do not understand a thing they are saying in this “Attraction” trailer, but I get it; know what I’m saying? All Greek to me. Russian actually. But dope trailer nonetheless. That whatchamacallit in there… looks like something off “Ben 10” right?

Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2 (Trailer)

They’re baaaack. I have actually grown to like the zanier movie cousins in the Marvel Universe family – Deadpool (okay, zany AND macabre), Ant-Man, and now this new Guardians Of The Galaxy. Dave Bautista & Chris Pratt are both a fool in this trailer; had me cracking up with over a hug. Baaahahaaa! “Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2” is due out in the Universe in 2017.

(At the end… aaaaw, look at Li’l Groot Root.)

Logan (Trailer)

Now THIS is how you go out, Hugh Jackman! If this “Logan” movie delivers like its trailer is teasing, the Marvel Universe is in for some of the best Wolverine watching to top off First Quarter 2017. Hope so. Jackman says this will be his last movie playing the iconic X-Men badass. Should be something to remember.

And what’s this? The Professor has brought a new gifted young’un to Logan to protect…and maybe train up? EPIC!

Barry (Netflix Teaser)

Not sure how Hollywood figured out that we’d need something a bit more palatable to wash away the nasty politics of the current U.S. Presidential Campaign. But then again, looking back, how could we not. At the very least, we’ve known and come to realize that a wildly popular – and by most accounts credible & and accomplished – President and First Lady were leaving the White House. We knew that there were no contenders to take up residence with the Obamas’ mix of composure, competence and charisma. That was sad enough.

And just when we thought we’d dug through the mud & sh!t and hit rock bottom, somebody threw down a jackhammer so we could dig for oil and bodies and get even nastier. Did you SEE the 3rd Presidential Debate? The candidates can’t even shake hands. But that phase is over now. Early voting has begun and the dust will settle after November 8th. Just in time for us to enjoy some farewell level good cinema.

Remember the future First Couple’s first date movie (“Southside With You”) we posted on here? Well, Netflix is bringing us another back, back in the day flick… talking about way back when Barack Obama was “Barry.” It won’t have as softened a tone as the aforementioned ‘date movie’ but viewers can draw strength knowing that even their President had it rough.

A young Barack Obama, known to his friends as “Barry,” arrives in New York City in the fall of 1981 to begin his junior year at Columbia University. In a crime-ridden and racially charged environment, Barry finds himself pulled between various social spheres and struggles to maintain a series of increasingly strained relationships with his Kansas-born mother, his estranged Kenyan father, and his classmates. Barry is the story of a young man grappling with those same issues that his country, and arguably the world, are still coming to terms with 35 years later. On Netflix December 16.

Check out the trailer above. Should be good watching.

Allied (Trailer)

“Inglourious Basterds,” “Fury,” and now “Allied.” To say Brad Pitt has a thing for doing World War II era films would be an understatement. This one looks to be a bit more on the drama-intrigue side of his storytelling spectrum. Good bet for a good movie though. Pitt usually does not put out trash.

“Allied” is the story of intelligence officer Max Vatan (Pitt), who in 1942 North Africa encounters French Resistance fighter Marianne Beausejour (Cotillard) on a deadly mission behind enemy lines. Reunited in London, their relationship is threatened by the extreme pressures of the war.

Sleepless (Trailer)

Tell you what… this movie’s promo is gonna put Jamie Foxx front and center, but consider that this is another chance for T.I. to get his weight up on the big screen. Great trailer promising incredible action and intrigue. Plus, bank on some twists. Hope it does as well as it looks so far.

And messing with a man’s son… a supercop known to pop a glock… NOT a good idea… unless you are in the movie audience watching it!

(Hey, Gabrille Union. We see you in there.)
