Cavalier – “Heavy Crown” Prod. By Iman Omari (Video)

After watching Cavalier’s new video for “Heavy Crown” I want to travel to somewhere tropical yet still a little gritty. The visuals directed by Vashni Korin match the track which is produced by Iman Omari for the collaborative Lemonade EP. My only complaint with the song or EP is I wish it was longer so that’s not a bad problem to have. So check out the new video and remember Heavy is the Crown.

UK Artist Little Simz – “Atlanta Show Debut” (Concert Review)

A Curious Tale of Trials & Persons tour made it’s stop in Atlanta, GA March 21st at Vinyl (Center Stage). A curious tale is the debut album from rapper Little Simz who hails from London, England making her Atlanta debut. I have been a fan of her music ever since I heard the track “Mandarin Oranges” which features Grand Rapids emcee Waldo. Mandarin Oranges immediately pulled me into her music and had me seeking to find out more about her. I have had the pleasure of interviewing Waldo and he expressed how talented Simz is and happy to see her gaining much success. So I was very excited to see that she would be making a stop in ATL to perform live!

“Suicide Squad” is hitting U.S. movie goers in the head with the spiked bat come August 2016. Prediction. Scratch that. FACTS! And as you can see, this comic-gone-TV-gone-action-movie mega-cast epic is already an international event (leading up to and through its September 2016 release to the rest of the world).
Interesting factoid to chew on before you digest the new trailer: Harley Quinn is NOT originally a DC comic book character. She is a TV creation, “born” on the Batman: The Animated Series cartoon from the 1990s. Now she here! Now the whole f#cking team here, yeah!

Watch VICE Sports get to globetrotting to hang out in Iraq, latest home to former Ole Miss (on- & off-court) standout Marshall Henderson and get his story.
Marshall Henderson had one of the most infamous runs in NCAA Basketball history, dominating the SEC with his three point shot at Ole Miss (while also running into trouble with coaches/opposing fans/the law/etc.).
Then he went undrafted, and fizzled out of the NBA’s D-League. Now he’s in the massive and convoluted international basketball pipeline, playing wherever he can. His latest stop: Naft Al-Janoob of the Iraqi Division I Basketball League in Basra, scene to some of the most vicious battles of the Iraqi War and a city that continues to experience its share of violence.

We still cannot believe it. With great sadness but fondly cherished memories and thankfulness in our hearts, we at JayForce.com salute the recently departed Phife (aka Malik Boyce Taylor). Hip-Hop Nation stand up, salute and reminisce. You could just surf this site, imagine all the Phife-related posts removed, and get an idea of how deep the loss of the Phifer cuts. But you know what, the Tribe’s Five-Footer is not ‘lost’ to us; nor will he ever be. Remember how he spoke to and spoke life to J Dilla and Baatin in the Hereafter in his “Dear Dilla” tribute track a while back? Family, you can do the same thing even now; to and for whomever you have lost.
