Rewind: A Young ‘Kendrick Lamar’ Parties with ‘U-N-I’ & ‘Miguel’ in their “Lately” Clip (Video)

Recently I was watching one of my favorite videos “Lately” from the duo U-N-I from the West Coast. Â Well U-N-I (YO & Thurz) are no longer a group but Thurz has continued to make music as a solo artist. Â The video was refreshing it had a Cali vibe plenty of fly ladies in it and just a couple of brothers having a good time. Â The video came out in 2010 and singing the hook is a young Miguel who has went on to have big success with a new album titled “Wildheart” that will be released June 30th 2015. Â Something that stuck out to me this time when I was revisiting the video was a scene where the guys have some friends backstage partying and to my surprise I see a young baby faced Kendrick Lamar with a cameo. Â Of course he was putting out music back then and making a name on the West Coast but nothing like what he is doing now how he dominates the Hip Hop charts. Â Well enjoy this rewind video and remember you never know who might be in the background of a video will turn out to be a huge star!

The Artist/Producer Oddisee is quite the opposite is he dedicated to his craft and concerned with being the best performer he can be absolutely. Â Does he concern himself with the fact he might not get certain props or being tracked down by certain rappers for beats negative. Â Oddisee has a new album out “The Good Fight” and it is a self produced album exhibiting some of his best work (my personal opinion). Â He recently sat down with Rosenberg at Hot 97 to discuss what he has been up to.

Â She was accompanied by Jesse Boykins III who is on tour with her during the North American leg of her tour. Â If you are not familiar with Jesse Ware you are in for a treat and we have posted work from Jesse Boykins on the site most recently his latest video “Our Tonight is Mine” . Recently Dr. Boyce Watkins sat down with Vlad TV and he discussed Racism in America. More importantly he discussed how Bill O’Reilly caters to a certain audience in America. Dr. Watkins sheds light on the fact that a lot of what O’Reilly spews on the airwaves is what many Americans of the dominant culture feel but are afraid to say. People like Rush Limbaugh and Bill O’Reilly make millions off of racist rhetoric and divisive lanuguage. Well I will let you listen to the Doc break it down much more eloquently.

“Resurrecting Black Wall Street” (Trailer)

The term “Black Wall Street” has been thrown around by a lot of rappers from time to time. The reality is the term Black Wall Street speaks to the amazing times of Black Prosperity in Tulsa Oklahoma in the 1920’s. The Greenwood neighborhood located in Tulsa had a number of Black doctors, dentists, bankers, and business owners. They spent money amongst themselves had their own bus companies and were doing better than most of the whites in Tulsa. It all came to a crashing bloody ending when false accusations were made regarding a white woman saying she was attacked by black men from the neighborhood. This led to the first time the US government bombed it’s own people yes you read that correctly the Feds dropped a bomb and destroyed the neighborhood. If you didn’t know the GAP Band is from Tulsa, OK one of their famous songs is “You dropped the Bomb on me” and you thought that was just talking about the ladies.

Ed Helms is at the head (married to cutie Christina Applegate). His family on vacation is just as, if not more, funny. But so far this version has the edge… literally, a LOT edgier than the original Gris bunch!
