Extant – (Season 2 Trailer)

Hey, Halle. Over here… We would NEVER wanna shut you up.
Oh, sorry, having a moment with Halle Berry. Now, let’s talk about her show Extant; with its 2nd season jumping off July 2015. The trailer (above) shows action and drama by the bucket load, but not really giving up much in the way of storyline. Good thing there are interviews and story leaks online. Berry returns as astronaut Molly Woods, realizing that humanity is in bigger trouble than ever. The story thus far supported and built to such, but Yahoo TV had an interview that shed light on a significant turn in the show’s direction.

“I think Season 2 is a little sexier, a little soapier…It’s a substantial reboot, in that we’re going to come in, in this time and place, several months [after the Season 1 finale], and that puts Molly in a completely different head space. Her mental stability is potentially in question, and we’re going to find out how that happens. There is a significant amount of new casting that changes the landscape of what we’re doing, and it’s less about Molly as mom, and more about Molly as warrior. Molly as a sexy warrior.”

Okay… so are we talking ‘sexy warrior’ like Storm of X-Men… or is she going to go all ‘Pope’ on us like that show on ABC that we will not mention because, well, we just won’t (but shout to sexy Kerry Washington). Well, the trailer doesn’t show the Woods character flexing any mutant powers. And given the addition of Jeffrey Dean Morgan (playing J.B. Richter), known for his role on Grey’s Anatomy, CBS might be trying to win over some of ABC’s ‘Gladiator’ fan base with some romancing. Either way, check out the Season 2 trailer; and get ready for the Summer premier.

Technology: Surgical Robot With A Super-Delicate Touch (Video)

Precision and reduction of risk in hazardous situations have been two things robo-technology has been known for for the longest. Delicacy though, not so much. But check this out: There’s now a robot that could suture a wound, slowly and deliberately moving a piece of skin back over the exposed flesh and stitching it in place with its tiny metal clamps; and with snip of its scissor (on the arm) the job is immaculately done. So immaculate, why not name it after an artist; like the artist who influenced the design of the earliest robots -Â Leonardo da Vinci.
[T]he da Vinci Si Surgical System, the most advanced robotic technology available which can be used for a range of minimally invasive procedures in gynecology, urology, thoracic and general surgery. For surgeons, da Vinci’s benefits include better vision, more precision and more control due to the system’s magnification and 3D capabilities, elimination of tremors and multiple degrees and directions of movement. Through da Vinci’s robotic wrists which are capable of rotating 540 degrees, surgeons are able to perform movements that aren’t possible with human hands.

Â Not always content at just shouting out their city, but many rappers detail clothing stores, restaurants and of course the “Shoe Modeling Spots” (Strip Clubs). Â Jay Shells (Artist/Designer) hailing from New York City has taken his love of rap quotes referencing cities to the next level. Â He is behind the movement known as “Rap Quotes” where he actually creates signs with the lyrics of certain areas and places them exactly where the rapper mentioned. Â He has done this in the cities of New York, LA, Philadelphia, and now he has come to the city I call home….Atlanta. Â He was brought to the city by the founders of A3C festival and in the video shot by Animal New York you catch Jay placing the signs up all over town. Before Michael Jackson split from his band of brothers, and for a while after, the music world (and the world at large) was constantly asking ‘Who would be the next Jackson 5?’ The answer at one time would have definitely been DeBarge. But right when they were right there as a family, something… a lot of things, actually… went terribly wrong. The large family from Grand Rapids (Michigan, USA) had it all in the 1980s – the looks, the sound, the fans, growing fame worldwide. But then things took a sadly familiar downturn that comes with having it all (way past enough). Industry and social pressures, addictions and more… caused them to lose the most important thing – each other. After that – the split – came bigger and harder losses.
