Long time Justice League member Median is back. Median last released an album in 2007 and had been M.I.A. until a feature on Little Brother’s Leftback LP. Now he returns with a DOPE track produced by 9th Wonder as apart of his next release coming out under the Foreign Exchange label. Phonte and 9th are excutive producing the album set to release later this year.

Pennsylvania raised & Atlanta based emcee Phene drops a video for ‘Alright’ which initially appears on his ‘Leap Of Faith’ mixtape that’s available now. The freestyle track he’s rhyming over is a 9th Wonder production, but he we like his version better than what Memphis Bleek originally did with the track.

While I was in Philly over the weekend Melanie Fiona was performing near the waterfront at Penn’s Landing. We had just walked up to the event unexpectedly on a whim & immediately I remembered this new song that just leaked on the web from her upcoming project The MF Life mixtape that I thought was really dope. Don’t know if she performed it before we arrived for us to hear her rock it live, but it’s still a nice song with a perfect island flavor for the summer.

Another high quality video out of Jamaica with the star of the show SHAGGY. As you watch this reggae video, I am sure you ALL KNOW what the reference to ‘Sugar Cane’ is but Shaggy does a great job of selling one of the reasons why female tourists visit the Caribbean islands. People’s Champion: Behind The Battle Documentary (Video)

I know a few of the guys in Atlanta responsible for setting up this battle that eventually became a cult internet phenomenon. It also made Eli Porter a household name around internet circles especially among those heavily involved with hip hop. When one of my homies from the Atlanta suburb of Chamblee told me that they were doing a documentary based off the infamous battle featuring Eli Porter I was truly amazed at what this has all grown into.

The Story Behind Diamond D’s Outkast Remix

Diamond D sat down with Complex to talk about the stories behind some of his most notable tracks. I found the Outkast remix to be of particular interest because I always felt that remix came out of left field and always wondered how and why it came to be. Diamond D had this to say about the remix:
“There was a mixed reaction [in New York to Outkast when they first came out], like any new artist. But I do know that the remix I did kind of helped break them in the New York market. Big Boi at one point was like, ‘Big Diamond’s remix helped us get a little footing up in New York.’
