Becoming A Mogul In The Music Game Doesn’t “Just Happen”… There Are ‘Rules To This Sh!t’ (Video)

Interestingly enough, when the fellas on here talk about going to the studio like it’s an exciting thing… I have seen MANY artists run off after accepting an invitation to go to a recording/mastering session. It is not all fun times, weed smoke, and bottle popping. At all! #RulesToThisShxt

“I’m not a businessman; I’m a business man.” In episode 106 of Rules To This Sh!t, Common, D Dot, Dreezy and more discuss how Diddy, Jay-Z and more went from music to business millionaires.

Benny The Butcher – “Rubber Bands & Weight” (Prod. By The Alchemist) [Video]

You know the feel of a track entitled “Rubber Bands & Weight” by a dude that calls himself Benny The Butcher already. And you get all you expect from the audio. Interesting conceptualization for the visual though. Relatively understated (except for that super THICK dancer in there, wowzers!). I’m okay with that.

This one is off the “Tana Talk 3” (aka TT3) project.

Jaden Smith – “A Calabasas Freestyle” (Video)

Why this li’l n!gga wearing rags if he got all the riches?

Ohhhh sh!t, Jaden beasted out the barz on the track like that??? Well, there is no reason he shouldn’t. I think I am more impressed that he could have kept going other ways than to come with some real Hip-Hop grimy for this. Let’s keep watching and see how this goes.

For the record, I am enjoying this ‘Calabasas’ freestyle for real. So much so I am including the whole LP from the young prince of The Fresh Prince’s dynasty. Check it out! It’s an exploration of vibes…

Cantrell – “Fo Five” (Prod. By MiSCHIEF BOY x Rahki) [Video]

Sh!t get scary like Freddy, no Fab 5.

Riding out to a nice beat, we get more of Cantrell to help bring in 2019 the right way with this one.

Following the release of his debut EP Stardust 2 Angels, Cantrell returns with a brand new video for “Fo Five” to kick off the year.

Directed by OPN SZN, “Fo Five” begins with a young man that is ostracized by his peers on the basketball court due to his ragged appearance. After a chance encounter, the Albany-native finds himself providing a helping hand and some much-needed guidance. The video is reflective of a culture dominated by material possessions rather than the person who sports them.

Jeff Turner x Demrick x Wynne – “Soapbox Theory” (Prod. By Jimmy Dukes) [Video]

Watch three emcees tear that Jimmy Dukes track Up!! Count on TeamBack and WRLDUNDGND to keep it real and provide a platform for the real spitters and producers to go off. Salute!

Since our conception, the goal of World Underground has been to empower young artists across the world to share their stories through music, dance, art, and fashion, globally. We consider ourselves the Soapbox for today’s generation and there is no better example than the three voices featured in this cypher. San Jose CA’s own Jeff Turner starts off this legendary episode getting the crowd HYPE! You can definitely feel the energy in the room as he begins with his signature flow, followed by the always flawless heavy hitter Demrick from Los Angeles who has been non-stop killing TBP cyphers, (I’m pretty sure he’s never had a weak verse). [And] closing it out is the young phenom Wynne from Portland Oregon who shut down the show with perfect cadence and flow. All spit over an amazing beat by none other than Jimmy Dukes! We are thankful for another example of authentic Hip-Nop, in a DOPE cypher we call “Soapbox Theory.”

Styles P – “Never Fight An African” (Video)

Rhyme slaying with absolutely no playing from SP The Ghost. Styles is nice. With the skills and the humanity. He even says it in here… “treat man kind ’cause I’m part of mankind.” But don’t cross him when it comes to the mic. A sucka can get crossed off!

One more piece of advice: “Never Fight An African.”
