I wonder how this ep came to be. I mean, I believe Jada was getting numbers and moving her own ship with her own steam. And while the ‘why’ behind husband Will saying ‘yes’ to a sit-down is a no-brainer, it doesn’t seem to be needed. Perhaps that makes it a bit more authentic: They/Will did not have to do this. But man, did he (one of the best)! Just watch. And these are just ‘outtakes’ (full episode embedded after the jump).
Following months of “Red Table Talk†shooting in their house, Jada Pinkett Smith invites Will on as a guest and he finally realizes the scope of her massive TV show.

Does lyricism still matter? In a word, YES! Whether you believe it is ‘necessary’ for a joint to be called ‘real Hip-Hop’ to have it… that discussion being a thing, even today, lets you know that lyricism is still a thing.
Although Yonkers MC Styles P and Harlem rapper Dave East represent two different generations of Hip-Hop, each artist is known for his lyrical prowess. The duo recently teamed up for their joint project ‘Beloved,’ which densely packs vivid street tales throughout its 13 tracks. On the latest episode of ‘For The Record,’ the New York natives sat down with Genius’ Head of Artist Relations Rob Markman to discuss the collaborative album as well as the decline of lyricism in Hip-Hop.

Well, well. I think I am ready to say it… Even with Preemo and Bella Badu on the 1’s and 2’s, I liked the overall energy of ‘The Booth’ over the Cyphers this year. Not saying there were not some hella fire freestyles in the Cyphers, but this looked fun!
